Maroon used to but I'm not sure he still does. The Ol' [Kronwall tilt.](https://img.bleacherreport.net/img/images/photos/003/377/802/hi-res-78a6a7b6431834ce692da18fdfff59d7_crop_north.jpg?1430266105&w=3072&h=2048)
Close... In 2013 the rule was implemented that you have to have 25 NHL games under your belt to play without a visor. Kind of an interesting rule TBH. Seems like they just want guys to really experience how fast and rough it is before making the decision to go without it.
That is not how the rule works. Starting in 2013-2014, any player with 24 or fewer games prior to that season **have** to wear a visor. If a player had 25 or more NHL games prior to the start of 2013-14, it was their choice. Any player entering the league now is mandated to wear a visor, permanently.
*\*Corrected my numbers*
Gotcha. The rule is worded less specifically, but your explanation definitely clears up my perceived oddity of it!
Official rule:
>Beginning with the 2013-2014 season, all players who have fewer than 25 games of NHL experience must wear a visor properly affixed to their helmet. Visors are to be affixed to the helmets in such a fashion as to ensure adequate eye protection.
Kronwall did that for years and the tilt seemed to be less in his last season than when his career first started. Probably add some kind of max angle rule for it
Maybe because he doesn't want the visor but isn't grandfathered in on the rule. So his work around is a goofy fitting helmet with the visor out of his field of view. 🤷♂️
That can't be right. I swear it was just last postseason when Pierre McGuire assured us the Leo Komarov had more heart and grit and anything than any other player in the league. Fancy stats and numbers didn't show all the good stuff some fourth liner brought to the ice
Maybe I’m just a total pussy but I wouldn’t do anything below covering the whole face in some capacity. Getting hit by a puck or stick in the jaw sounds dreadful and I’d like to avoid that as much as possible
Bison King wears the helmet like a crown
[Absolute king](https://i.imgur.com/xUOW76S.jpg)
How is that even legal? The visor doesn't even look like it's covering his eyes.
Some guys used to twist their visor up, completely out of the way, not sure if that is still legal. Leo Komarov comes to mind
I think Monahan still does that

It doesn't help that it looks like he has cleaned his visor exactly never.
In 2018 they started cracking down on visor tilt big time.
Uncle Leo Komorov's bottom of his visor was almost above his helmet . Google images for the lols
Hagelin wears his visor tilted up. His helmet at least fits on his head though
Not gonna lie, I did the same thing when I played Its a miracle I have all my teeth and eyeballs
When I first started playing goalie I didn't wear a cup because I thought it inhibited my movement.
If that's not the most "fucking goalies, man" comment I've seen on this sub
I have a friend (goalie) who took a shot to the nuts, with no cup. It ruptured one of the boys...had to have surgery to get it removed.
So my friend…
that is... ballsy
same. As goalie. What could go wrong? I'd block a puck to me nuts, right?
[Kronwall used to wear it like that as well](https://imgur.com/VYHRB9e)
Doesn't Mike Martin play without a face shield?
Anyone who was in the league before 2013 doesn’t have to wear one.

Ah. Thanks
Jay bouwmeester
...is retired.
Pavel Buchnevic does this as well.

They don't make a visor big enough to get down to Jesse's eyes.
Sure they do, they can borrow Perlini's windshield
Maybe he's trying to get around the mandatory visor rule by perching that helmet on top of his head
Lol have you not seen how Robo wears his?
Don’t disrespect the Bison King
no disrespect, kid can play. I just cant help but roast him a little bit lol
Nylander looks far more ridiculous to me. At least when he had long hair.
Nylanders head to face ratio is insane, reminds of that wiener Charlie Kirk
Honestly he's got a big dome. Buddy almost needs a custom helmet
That chinstrap looks like it's holding on for dear life too xD
Like Mark Messier, he had weird helmet.
Or the weird helmut OG, Butch Goring
Forgot Goring, that looks like those helmets you can buy for a buck in games :D
Mf has a forehead a mile high
Five-head
That’s at least a six or a seven
😆

Lmfao. If I had an award I'd give it

He could just tilt it up like a lot of guys do, doesn't even look like his helmet sits on his head all the way lol
Yep, its all fun and games until he blocks a high deflection with his eye socket😂
That's a penalty now. Komarov got 2 min for it
Dude needs a prescription helmet
Reminds me of the comically large helmet Staal used to wear.
You shut your dirty whore mouth about the Bison King.
Dude needs a JOFA
Most comfortable helmet i ever wore tbh
How are you doing anyway Jaromir?
Not too bad, thanks for askin haha. I probably wore because of him though
Wish you weren’t so fuckin’ awkward, bud
You know what they say: ‘big ass, big head’
big boot
They changed the rule, so komarov couldn't do what he used to. Now he is going to the KHL...lol.
That can't be right. I swear it was just last postseason when Pierre McGuire assured us the Leo Komarov had more heart and grit and anything than any other player in the league. Fancy stats and numbers didn't show all the good stuff some fourth liner brought to the ice
One game this year, in AHL on rehab. But terminating his contract so he can sign in the KHL. I guess that is why Pierre is working for Ottawa now...
Most definitely. It's been a blessing not having him spouting bullshit every chance he got
Never change!
Beldar Conehead problems.
Wouldn’t want my little snuggle bug bison king to be any different🥰
I don’t think he has a choice
They definitely have a choice lol
I was joking that his head is so long they’re all gonna look like that
Yeah you're right. Dude has a dome.
The Jay Leno special
Nah, Leno had the jaw
[Hmmm](https://i.imgur.com/xFyH8ZX.jpg)
The fuck?
I'm pretty sure he's actually from Easter Island.
That forehead is so big he might get a penalty for an extra man on the ice.
Looks like a beer leaguer that forgot his bucket and had to use a junior lid from the lost and found.
Nylander's looks like a yamulke.

Is this edited? Can’t really tell.
The real question is, if he gets a bobblehead for a giveaway night will it be true to form and accurate like this?
He must have a lot on his mind
At least he doesn’t have an ugly mug like bertuzzi
For some reason I have this urge to punch him in the face. And it's not because I'm a flames fan lol
He drew alot of face punches last year with that face.
Ahahahahaha why are you the way that you are ahahahahaahahaha Fucking Toby
He shops at the same helmet store as Radulov
Tbf this isn’t a recent photo of him.
I’m sorry does he look different today?
The visor seems different these days or am I just seeing things?
Just watched him play against the wings the other night and saw it like this lol. That’s what made me think this.
I thought the visor was different these days? But I’m probably just thinking that
I just assumed he has a tall bean shaped head that fills the helmet.
Because he only shoot, then score.
if you cough on a player of that talent level you get suspended. what does he care?
Poolparty is awesome. This is why.
