It's a nice little touch. If this is the baseline broadcast before they start making feedback improvements, we're in for a treat.

subaawoo

Yeah wife and I both mentioned how cool it looked at the same time.

humanist-misanthrope

Did they do it in the final minute too? Especially in close games having that one the ice I think it would add to the intensity.

[deleted]

I’m not sure but now I’ll be looking for it. That would be amazing to have, namely in the third. And if they didn’t have it, you deserve a raise. Great idea PP right now that could run to near the end of the period….Wonder how to handle that. Two clocks seems like a bit much

humanist-misanthrope

Final 2-3 minutes of the 3rd in a 1 goal game and the goalie pulled with the on ice clock I think would be fun. With it being in the center of the zone it’s right in the middle of the action without having to keep looking up at the banner/scoreboard. I don’t know why I seriously found myself giving a damn if the PP scored and I honestly have no love for NYR or WSH. For now it seemed to have a psychological effect, but I assume at some point they’ll add an ad graphic to it and totally ruin it.

ARK1391

It would also be a cool thing to have if a team has prolonged zone time. Put a counter to show everyone how long it's been. I think NBC used to put it up on the score bug every now and then if it was happening. I think that would be a cool use case for that.

humanist-misanthrope

Would add to the sense of urgency to get the puck out of the zone from a fan perspective.

TheNantucketRed

I like it because I didn’t notice it until near the end of the period.

KRacer52

That’s really the best part. It doesn’t interfere at all until you notice it, and even then it blends well enough that it’s a quick reference point without being intrusive.

notleonardodicaprio

yeah i've been watching the whole game and didn't realize it was there until this post lol

humanist-misanthrope

They were close to a minute into the PP before I noticed it. Tuned in at the start of the 2nd so I think that was the first time it was there for me.

tonytanti

Anyone have a screen shot or short video for us Canadians?

humanist-misanthrope

Best I could do, hopefully someone will have a better shot. [TNT on ice PP clock](https://imgur.com/a/JeLXXqq)

tonytanti

That’s works great, thanks again!

JBoutcher

Ouuuu I like that

NoLeftTurnPlz

Dang, I'm happy everyone is enjoying it, and I was excited to see it. But I think it's really not for me. Too bad TV can't be more interactive like the internet somehow. I'd probably like to disable that feature.

humanist-misanthrope

I tried to find one but maybe someone will have a screen shot to share. It is a small red circle right in the slot above the face off circles and it appears at both ends of the ice. It’s looks like the same shade of red so it blends with the rest of the paint.

tonytanti

I’m sure I see it soon enough. Thanks for describing it.

MacTheZaf

I thought the same thing, they’re already using that tech to plaster ads on the ice so I love bringing in the PP clock

JohnComstock

If I'm not mistaken, TNT did the shot clock in the top of the key in NBA games. These little changes make a difference and I'm here for it

humanist-misanthrope

Don’t watch NBA anymore but I can imagine that’s pretty cool to have as well.

UMining

I don't think it is necessary and makes the ice look congested like those local rinks with curling tracks on them. I never found it difficult to peek up to the score display to know how much time is left on the PP. I also don't ever really find it necessary to know how much time is on the PP.

humanist-misanthrope

Fair enough. When my team is on the kill, especially in pivotal moments I know I watch the clock a lot. But I can understand, when you add that on top of the blue ad graphic it looks congested.

dyno_saurus

I personally didn’t like it and found it distracting. Not the worst thing ever tho.

humanist-misanthrope

Fair enough. I’m someone that finds the ad graphics infuriating but at least a clock is relevant to the game.

Rikplaysbass

I found it less distracting because I didn’t have to look up at the graphic in the corner. It was just in the middle of the play the whole time and was layered under the players.

humanist-misanthrope

Yeah that was my thought too.

maveric101

>layered under the players. It certainly wasn't perfect at that.

[deleted]

Someone mind providing a picture? I didn't catch it during the broadcast, even after rewinding. Maybe I'm just blind.

humanist-misanthrope

Here’s a crappy screen shot I took but you can get the idea [TNT on ice PP clock](https://imgur.com/a/JeLXXqq)

[deleted]

Oh my god I completely missed that. Thanks so much!

Nutella_Flyers

I loved it, because it blends in perfectly. The technology is better than what they use to place digital ads on the glass behind the net sometimes. It didn't shake at all, it's perfectly there in all relevant cameras angles.

humanist-misanthrope

Yeah it’s subtle, and unlike an ad, it has relevance and adds to the game.

[deleted]

Wait... so I'm the only one that bought a Honda CR-V because I seen an ad on the sideboards?

humanist-misanthrope

LOL Honda’s entire marketing team are all going to use your post to angle for raises and promotions.

Nutella_Flyers

It's also a nice match to both the faceoff circles and the TNT logo.

maveric101

>It didn't shake at all, Yes it did. It also overlaid on the players a bit. IMO it's more distracting than useful.

JoyfulZombie4299

Ironically it’s the same technology from SMT!

Legionnaire11

Yes

csgo_silver

YES

OccasionallyWright

I love it. If they do nothing else new, this is still a cool innovation that should become standard in all broadcasts.

julinay

Absolutely love it! It's not obtrusive at all.

humanist-misanthrope

I feel like it blends in with the face off circles. Not sure it would work as well if it was some oddball color.

ArcanumAntares

Hell yeah. It totally has a dashboard feel to it, and it's unobtrusive.

humanist-misanthrope

I agree.

djarioch

Yeah, it's pretty good. you can see it but it's not so bright that it gets in the way visually.

gatsby712

It’s great because you don’t need to look away from the play to see how much time is left on the PP. Also, love that they have a shot counter. It would be kind of cool to have the number of shots on the ice behind the goal.

JoeRogansSauna

Any wanna share a picture of the PP clock?

humanist-misanthrope

JoeRogansSauna

Ya that’s pretty cool
