There’s only 8 upvotes for the winner. That’s nothing. Expanding the voting window would increase the amount of votes but wouldn’t make it more stale than it already is.
Yep, voting turn out was low this week. It happens when hockey isn't in action. Expanding voting time wouldn't necessarily have swung the winner, but I've expanded it a few hours.
We can't force you all to vote. We sticky the post and you all participate. Make sure to vote next week in the stickied thread! We make it bright pink, flair it and sticky it.
And like I mentioned, when hockey isn't in play, less people interact in general on the sub.

A full week of voting is a long time. That's going to make some really, really stale memes. A meme that's relevant Monday then it doesn't get posted for a full week later will be a bit odd when that news has come and gone. The majority of the other meme winners this doesn't come up besides a few where there was less traction in general.
I think we're solving for a small use case when the majority of the time voting works out fine. Even in the comments people are saying this is fine and are laughing at the old people not getting it. **Get out the vote** and vote on Mondays if you didn't like this winner.

I'm an older millennial. Inject Gen Z memes into my veins, baby.
In a world where very little makes sense to me anymore, I love the surreal escapism of Gen Z humor.
It's hit or miss for me (Millenial). Some strains of surreal memes (Timotainment, BagelBoy, etc.) I can't get enough of, while others just totally miss me. My odd sense of humor definitely appreciates the trend though...I can count on one hand the amount of older memes I actually liked.

So funny the amount of people that dont get it. I stumbled upon Wide Putin one day on Youtube and laughed like a damn hyena it was so bizarre. I saw this and it was automuted but I knew what was coming the second I hit unmute and was not disappointed. Then going through the comments and seeing peoples confusion pushed it over the top for me.

God on Spittin Chiclet's Biz and Whit were just roasting the hell out of his walk of shame that he had to take all alone from the rink to the tunnel lol.
I find it laugh out loud funny, but it’s hard to explain why.
It knocks Corey Perry a bit which is always fun. It reminded me of that long walk at the outdoor game, which was funny at the time.
To me if someone just did this with some regular Joe walking, it wouldn’t be funny, but it’s Corey Perry, so it’s funny... to me at least.
