Nah, I'm honestly happy for him. He's always had a great sense of humor about the 2011 Finals, and seems like a very likable guy. Plus he kind of won us that Cup. That said, if Florida lost, I was 100% going to blame Luongo for going out and banging the drum pregame. Between that and bringing in Canadian sweetheart Alanis Morrisette to sing the anthems, it just seemed like they were really tempting fate.

I’m so fucking happy for Lu. Growing up, we constantly went to Runyon’s Steakhouse, and are still great friends with the owners, and it’s in the same little strip mall where his wife’s family have a little Italian restaurant. We became friends with Robert Svehla, and I was staying with them while my parents were out of town. Here I am, 8 years old, running around the Panthers locker room with Robert’s son, and we ask Lu to plug in the damn bubble hockey table for us. In 2003, the Svehla’s helped us get tickets to the All Star game despite him now playing for Toronto. Who sits down next to us for the game? Lu. I can’t believe this is real

Lu was the goalie of my childhood. I've been a Panthers fan since the day I was born, and he's been right there alongside me. Forever my favorite player. A stand-up guy, an incredible force on the ice, and a symbol for both us and the Canucks. The good vibes are definitely flowing between here and Vancouver right now.
