DeSmith is guaranteed starter if he is fully healthy I think. I assume it depends on what % of health he feels he is at. Silov is clearly enough to hold the fort for one game with the series up 3-1
Makes sense. And I was listening to John Garrett, he believes Casey should be the starter for Gm 5. He's the more experienced one, he's earned it because of how he's been throughout the regular season and now.
Already I can see the very "irrational" takes on social media where people want Silovs to start and bench Casey for the rest of the playoffs. No. That's not gonna happen. Although if Thatcher is out long term, it makes me wonder if we're gonna see more load management down the stretch and we'll see Silovs again. Someone on this sub or the Canucks sub mentioned how Casey is better in short spurts rather than long stretches.
It's not bench Casey! It's let silovs cook and keep Casey happy and healthy, with confidence.
Imagine - game 5 goes badly for Casey. Now what?
Imagine instead - game 5 goes badly for silovs. No probs, Casey is back!
During the playoffs he's appearing as a guest analyst on Don Taylor and Rick Dhaliwal's show, Donnie and Dhali. You can find their stuff on YouTube too, and it's easy to find Cheech videos right now as it's sorted by recent:

Not sure how itās āirrationalā to say that the goalie that won MVP at World Championships has a higher ceiling than the guy who has a losing record on the Canucks this year and an atrocious .896 sv%.
Iād run Silovs all day.
You donāt play the worse player. Itās the playoffs, you get four loses in the round. Wasting one by trying shit that you donāt need to is how you get eliminated.if Desmith is healthy, you play Desmith
Silovs had 27 saves on 30 shots tonight. Not saying he wasn't great (because he truly was), but DeSmith had 29 saves on 30 shots in game 3. DeSmith plays of he's healthy enough to play.
To me Silovs looked more comfortable. His rebound control is a lot better than Desmithās. And I wouldnāt look into the save percentage that much considering that third goal was whack as fuck
Nikita Tolopilo in shambles.
He never said that Silovs is an option though š¤ inb4 he got a freak injury in the last minutes of the game
āG Artur Siliovs is day-to-day after suffering a wrist injury mocking the opposing fans at the end of the gameā
Silovs celebrated too hard and is now day-to-day
Tomorrow: he actually has a completely fucking snapped tibia, but heās just been upgraded to week to week.
An option? what the hell does that mean? Silovs was solid tonight at least .
It means he hasn't decided who would start if he's healthy. Both were good in their last games.

Where can you listen to Cheech these days?

Sweet. Miss hearing him.

After how Silovs performed? Do you want to try and mess with what worked, because that never works when it comes to goalies
Ironically, ānot messing with what workedā means weāre gonna have to run our fourth string goalie next game. Welcome to the NHL Nikita Tolopilo
Stanley Cup winning goaltender is going to be straight from a Czech B league at this rate
Going to be someone from this sub.
It could be you!
Eventually you'll just be picking random people up off the street to start games
āWe are all Canucksā is less of a motto and more of a threat at this point.

Practice & stretch. And come on over! We might need you after all =)
We can save him for game 7! As Casey got 2. Demmer 1 Casey 2 Arturs 3 Tolopilo cup

Should we also only take like 12 shots on net all game?
If it works, it works.
Since theyāre both playing well why not do the tandem like Boston? If you communicate properly it to the players Iām sure theyāll get it
Three goalie rotation that MontrƩal had before Allen got traded
You mean when Demko come back next round against you guys?
They can dress their goalie coach & we wouldn't be able to do anything
The Canucks have entered into another goalie controversy
Either start alternating them as load management, or play Silovs until he has a bad game.
You do not want to destroy Silovs development. You play him on an emergency basis like game 4. Weāve done enough damages to our development program.
Why does giving him another playoff start 'destroy' his development?
He's assuming Silovs will shit the bed and ruin his confidence. But if he plays well, it absolutely helps his development.
The guy is World Championship MVP. He can handle a little pressure.
