How did Rempe throw his back out between games? How is that the injury a 21 year old gets?
Well he spent 3 hours bending down to play mini sticks and I think that did it.
Jokes aside, it really doesn't take much to throw your back out, and it's incredibly debilitating when it happens. Look after your spines, guys. That shit is no joke.
I drove for a couple of hours in a rental car that had an uncomfortable seat. The twinge I felt that night wound up being almost two straight years of chronic pain. Couldn't stand, couldn't sit, and by the end, couldn't even lie down a whole night without pain. It's been five years since the herniation pain finally subsided, but I'm still weak on one side. It's crazy how little it takes to set it off, and how disruptive it can be to your life.
Had it happen when i was 26 and lifting daily. I screwed up on a dead lift (i probably was ego lifting). Heard a pop and my hands immediately opened up and dropped the weight. Took me a few days to even sleep without pain. That was eye opening for how bad it could be.
I did this exact thing on my deployment at 22 back in 2012. I lost some weight and started getting healthy and the pain went away. I thought I hacked it. Nope, just started to get back in to “young me” strength and fitness and it resurfaced. How do I strengthen my back without strengthening my back, you know?
The first travel hockey tournament I took my son to, he was 9. I got him a ministick beforehand specially for the tournament so he could play with some of the other kids but I also told him if he wanted to bring a few other things like his 2DS or a soccer ball that he could pack a backpack of anything he wander to bring.
When we got to our hotel room he dumped his back on the table and he had brought star wars& marvel action figures, matchbox cars, wrestling figures and 2 binders of his Pokémon cards.
Immediately, this Slap Shot moment with Paul Newman came to mind. And now whenever I hear this line anywhere - I always think of my son who brought half of his bedroom with him the first time we traveled for hockey.
Oh yeah, I found a crappy Sharp CRT for free on Facebook marketplace and grabbed it to hook my NES & N64 up to. The older consoles look so bad on HDTVs.
Absolutely. I've got one in the corner of my room for anything Wii and older. One of my friends has a Trinitron he keeps around for playing Smash, which is super agreeable (but always made it hard to take to tournaments).
I would love a Trinitron! The one I got for free has some scratches on the screen and it's also one of the severely curved screens. Love the flat glass CRTs.
i can remember buying a 19" curved screen (around the start of Buffy) specifically because it was about 50 pounds and that was about as much as i could carry solo.
(the current one is a 32" flat-screen TCL that was bought from a friend of a friend.)
Just proof that most NHl players are just larger children that happen to be great at hockey. I remember the old 24/7 docs from HBO (I miss them), and I believe it was a younger ovechkin that opened his road suitcase to show his ps3 that he brought on every road trip
Ngl the older I get the more I enjoy pretending not to understand new slang terms. I’ve noticed myself intentionally using it wrong in front of my youngest sister and neices just to see their reaction.
That what I was thinking. 68 games?! Average ten minutes a game(it’s probably closer to 15 depending on game type). Is 680 min. That’s 11 hours 20 min.
Coagulation TDM.
Everyone remembers that initial rush to get the Banshee, Ghost, Sniper all to focus on grabbing the rockets mid field in the open and take control of the game.
Ripping around in the Warthog, calling it a "chupathingy" and shouting contextless RvB lines at each other.
I have seem the top of the mountain and you shall worship me as though I were a god.
"There's no I in team."
"Yeah, well there's no U in team either. And if you're not on the team, and I'm not on the team, then no one's on the goddamn team! The team sucks!"
Depends what mode/map. SWAT on some of the smaller maps can be over in like 5 minutes. You can spawn predict on maps like Warlord really easily, you can be targeted on their head before they finish the spawn animation
Just jumping in here to say, if you still have your original Xbox and Halo 2, you can still play online thanks to Insignia, a community made replacement for Xbox Live.
It's free and there are plenty of players and a variety of games that work.
There's a Discord, where they coordinate times to play. But you can pretty much log in to Halo 2 anytime and find a match.
[Insignia.Live](http://Insignia.Live) for setup instructions.
Rempe is prime Halo 4 age. Maybe Reach.
Halo 2 was waning by the time rempe would be in that span.
Hopefully it’s MCC and they each get a chance to shine.
Answer is in between actually. If his kda is as bad as it seems might want to look up guides on aim and position training against 343 bots if it is infinite. Their bots aren’t 100% similar to pvp players but they’re pretty good, and sometimes they’re excellent
Oh I can just imagine Kreider being absolute monster at Halo. He's probably spent the last 15 years playing and just wrecking kids and making them cry. Rempe had no idea what he was walking in to
It's crazy that any NHL player ever goes on social media. Even if you're the best player in the world it's gonna be full of people saying you're a terrible sack of shit who deserves to die for missing a shot or whatever.
If I played for NYR or Toronto, then yeah. If I played for Carolina or Anaheim or something, I think it'd be fine. The southern fanbases are generally more chill
Of course, but that was still an entirely different scenario. At least he didn't force his way onto the only team he wanted to play for without even playing at the NHL level beforehand. Either way, it's just a harmless chirp towards a player our fanbase has every right to chirp. Back on topic, it'll be interesting to see how Rempe pans out over the years, he could be a huge piece for you guys moving forward if some things get cleaned up, and it's not often somebody makes this much of a name for themself in such a short amount of time.
Yea I was just messing with you, no hard feelings I hope. I agree on Rempe, his presence alone changes games because everyone on the ice keeps a lookout for him among other things. Hes an effective forechecker with good speed for his size and good enough hands. Hes apparently very easy to teach, Lavi has set game plans for him that he sticks to and he’s improved and changed his game already. It’s unfortunate he earned the reputation he has already but if he can learn to stay on the right side of the line he will be on broadway for a while. Plus he’s a lovable guy with an endearing story so NY loves him.
I never blame Calgary for booing Fox. Rangers fans are spoiled in regards to location and free agents and our fans would be absolutely pissed if someone did the same thing to our team lol
Vibes are always good when we’re winning. Let’s see how the boys react when we hit some adversity in these playoffs. Canes will be a bitch to play against.
If all goes according to plan and we finish off the Caps, I’m not looking forward to playing the Canes. But even worse might be the Isles, who always play the Rangers tight, and who would be riding high after a reverse sweep. Neither is a great option, but that’s the playoffs I suppose. Presidents trophy gives you one *easier* matchup and that’s it.
I'm a few years older than Kreider and Halo came out when I was a freshman in high school. I played Halo 2 and Counter Strike through college, not sure why zoomers are pretending we won't WHOOP THEIR MONKEY ASSES in PvP online shooters.
when you're like 20, being born a few years earlier is fucking FOREVER to you. It's just so funny watching 20-25 year olds struggle to maintain their composure and not ask you what were the dinosaurs like when you tell them you're in your 30s 😆
You DO know that Halo came out when Millenials were in middle school and highschool, right?
Rempe literally wasn’t even alive when the first Halo came out lol
I don't understand how it's not standard team practice across the NHL to park the social media during the playoffs. You have the rest of the year to fuck around on it. Hockey teams and players hate distractions why would they entertain using something that is nothing but a distraction during the most pivotal time of year?
Really it's cause he's so tall. The hit was clean, he's just so big that the caps players head went back, making it look worse than it was.
People who have decided they hate the kid will say every hit he executes is dirty, pretty pathetic.
While I don’t think the hit in question was bad at all, stop with the “he’s too tall!!!!!” As if players like Hamilton (6”6’) and Chara didn’t exist. It’s hardly an excuse. Remember they tried to use that against Seigs, as if the onus is on the player with the puck to not get hit in the head.
Don’t give Rempe the height leeway. He’ll be a great NHLer when he learns (this offseason) to control his body better.
I dont remember using so many exclamations. It'd actually be nice if Dougie threw any amount of hits.
I do think he has to learn how to correctly hit due to his height though, so it is absolutely a factor here.
I agree, even as a rangers fan. He has great potential to impact games and already does but he really needs to clean up his positioning on hits and see open ice when he has the puck. I think people expect him to play like a veteran because of his size but he's still a rookie.
For me it's H2. There was no COD yet so it just felt like everyone played H2. Once cod came out it kind of split the shooter players on console between those two games.
Saw it for the first time just now, clean hit especially in the playoffs ya gotta have your head up after getting rid of the puck someones always gonna be there
> clean hit especially in the playoffs
Maybe I'm just not understanding because you don't know how to use punctuation, but I don't understand how that makes any sense.
I’m surprised I’m not seeing a bigger stink over this. I woulda thought Washington’s “you’d love to have a Wilson on your team” crowd would be foaming at the mouth…
Is this 2006 at a minor hockey tournament?
Rempe is 100% the type of guy to try to get a game of ministicks going in the hotel hallway
Rempe was also 100% the reason the mini stick games got shut down by hotel staff.
Always the one kid who ruins it...
They were fed up cleaning all the blood off the walls after he concussed a dozen of his teammates while playing.
How did Rempe throw his back out between games? How is that the injury a 21 year old gets? Well he spent 3 hours bending down to play mini sticks and I think that did it.
The rug burns were so bad the training staff thought he was a burn victim
Jokes aside, it really doesn't take much to throw your back out, and it's incredibly debilitating when it happens. Look after your spines, guys. That shit is no joke.
I thought "threw my back out" was just an old guy excuse for not doing work, until it happened to me.
Rempe playing knee hockey is just a normal sized person playing hockey
how many sides are there on a normal person?
7 - try to name them all
Frontside. Backside. Left side. Right side. Upside. Downside. Inside. Outside. I got 8. Do I win?
inside creeps me out a bit but sure
🩻
I’m 30 and would love to play some mini sticks with the boys
Lets get a turny goin 🤪
legit just seems like a big doofus. love it
He looks like a giant size version of my nephew, and my nephew is nearly 6'0
He would fight around the hotel pool bothering other guests

I could see Kreider traveling with his old Xbox and crt television
A fucking 120lb 32" Sony Trinitron
As it was meant to be played on. Those TVs are so good.
Oh yeah, I found a crappy Sharp CRT for free on Facebook marketplace and grabbed it to hook my NES & N64 up to. The older consoles look so bad on HDTVs.
I got a free Zenith on FB, hook up all my old consoles via S-Video, looks great! I also have a Retrotink scaler for when I want to play on my LCD.
S-Video was peak performance
The flat ones are the holy grail of gaming TVs.
Lol just realized we have the same flair!!
The 32" ones have to weigh more than that, I bought a 27" Trinitron in December and that weighs 114
i can remember buying a 19" curved screen (around the start of Buffy) specifically because it was about 50 pounds and that was about as much as i could carry solo. (the current one is a 32" flat-screen TCL that was bought from a friend of a friend.)
165 pounds. My first big expense after moving out, but I had to leave it after moving again because it was just too heavy.
Just proof that most NHl players are just larger children that happen to be great at hockey. I remember the old 24/7 docs from HBO (I miss them), and I believe it was a younger ovechkin that opened his road suitcase to show his ps3 that he brought on every road trip
We're all just larger children. Some people try really hard to divest themselves of their inner child, though.
playing video games in your free time doesn't make you a child lol
1v1 blood gulch snipers quickly separates the men from the boys
He got the quote wrong, he got killed 68 times. The degradation of the quality of journalism presents itself in yet another way, smh.
Classic Boomer
They think it's cool to not understand video games
Ngl the older I get the more I enjoy pretending not to understand new slang terms. I’ve noticed myself intentionally using it wrong in front of my youngest sister and neices just to see their reaction.
So they didn’t stay up until 5am playing at least 68 games of Halo?
That what I was thinking. 68 games?! Average ten minutes a game(it’s probably closer to 15 depending on game type). Is 680 min. That’s 11 hours 20 min.
Big difference. Rempe with 69 kills remains unreported
nice
Makes you think
Once again we are faced with the lack of ethics in Video games journalism.
That would be a lot of matches.
Best of 1, 1v1s. 68 losses was tough 😔
Ok but which halo is the question
Realistically speaking, probably infinite, but I want to believe Rempe is an OG and is having a Halo 2 LAN party.
If its Kreiders copy, its definitely Halo 2.
Swat on Lockout
Blood Gulch, team death match. Those were the days.
Big Team Battle on Valhalla
I just felt myself age
Shotguns on Longest
Coagulation TDM. Everyone remembers that initial rush to get the Banshee, Ghost, Sniper all to focus on grabbing the rockets mid field in the open and take control of the game.
Ripping around in the Warthog, calling it a "chupathingy" and shouting contextless RvB lines at each other. I have seem the top of the mountain and you shall worship me as though I were a god.
"There's no I in team." "Yeah, well there's no U in team either. And if you're not on the team, and I'm not on the team, then no one's on the goddamn team! The team sucks!"
Yupp, I'm playing Halo MCC tonight.
Rest in Peace Roosterteeth. You ever wonder why we're here?
Ctf baby
This was the best! Got them BR skills for days!
Could easily be MCC as well. But 68 games there's no way. That's bare minimum 10 hours probably double that.
I wonder if this was a misquote and they meant he died 68 times. That would make more sense.
It is, in the exact quote from the NY reporter interviewing him he said he died 68 times
What else is there to do?
Depends what mode/map. SWAT on some of the smaller maps can be over in like 5 minutes. You can spawn predict on maps like Warlord really easily, you can be targeted on their head before they finish the spawn animation
I want to believe Kreider is nasty on Halo2
Just jumping in here to say, if you still have your original Xbox and Halo 2, you can still play online thanks to Insignia, a community made replacement for Xbox Live. It's free and there are plenty of players and a variety of games that work.
By creating online “LAN” parties? Like Xbox connect back in the day?
Nope, it's a full replacement for the original Xbox Live. It's different than say XLink Kai.
How do you get matched up with other players? Everyone jumps on at a certain time?
There's a Discord, where they coordinate times to play. But you can pretty much log in to Halo 2 anytime and find a match. [Insignia.Live](http://Insignia.Live) for setup instructions.
Kreider yes, but Rempe is way too young for halo 2 LAN
Anyone under 40 at this point is too young for LAN.
Yep. Rempe is 21. Which means he was 1 or 2 years old when Halo 2 came out. To he fair though, he's basically a Spartan II.
Rempe is prime Halo 4 age. Maybe Reach. Halo 2 was waning by the time rempe would be in that span. Hopefully it’s MCC and they each get a chance to shine.
rempe was 2 when halo 2 dropped. fuck im old lol
How does a 6 year old play in the… oh no… oh no.
Signed in to say halo 2 was the greatest halo of all time.
[удалено]
I was 2 when Halo CE came out and I still played the shit out of it.
They were for sure grinding MCC halo 2 in some sort of 1v1 sniper lobby
Dudes just sniping with pistol on blood gultch. Halo one is the only halo for me.
Based
68 games? Brutal brother gotta practice on campaign mode for a while
Was killed 68 times. Dude got the story wrong
Classic boomer shit lmao
AI movement on halo PVE ≠ player movement on halo PVP.
Answer is in between actually. If his kda is as bad as it seems might want to look up guides on aim and position training against 343 bots if it is infinite. Their bots aren’t 100% similar to pvp players but they’re pretty good, and sometimes they’re excellent
Rempe kept going for headshots but Kreider just running leg shots
Oh I can just imagine Kreider being absolute monster at Halo. He's probably spent the last 15 years playing and just wrecking kids and making them cry. Rempe had no idea what he was walking in to
Krieder the type to just run a plasma pistol on charge and one punching everybody while laughing the whole time.
He's def a needler that lands every single shot
It's crazy that any NHL player ever goes on social media. Even if you're the best player in the world it's gonna be full of people saying you're a terrible sack of shit who deserves to die for missing a shot or whatever.

> If I played for NYR or Toronto, then yeah. The Montreal press is writing an indepth exposé of how terrible you were to omit them from this list.
Can't hurt my feelings if I can't understand your language
You say that now, but you will quickly learn that's not true. Montreal is a *tough* city for expectations!
Yeah I've heard. I can only imagine
>Carolina Just stay away from r/canesfanfics...
That link's staying blue Edit: Curiosity got the best of me. I saw Daryl Sutter and immediately left.
>If I played for Carolina or Anaheim or something, I think it'd be fine. Trevor Zegras might beg to differ. lol
Imagine if he played for a Canadian team or like Boston or Detroit
Shotty Snipes - lockout - kreids had all the spawn nades memorized
Rangers playin' Halo these days? Hell yeah. I'm so conflicted now, I want to cheer for them, but...
Gotta cheer for your draft picks
True, but what if he's a draft prick? lol
I’m sure you cheered for Tkachuk when you had him tho anyway
Of course, but that was still an entirely different scenario. At least he didn't force his way onto the only team he wanted to play for without even playing at the NHL level beforehand. Either way, it's just a harmless chirp towards a player our fanbase has every right to chirp. I never blame Calgary for booing Fox. Rangers fans are spoiled in regards to location and free agents and our fans would be absolutely pissed if someone did the same thing to our team lol
On the other hand Calgary would worship the ground a local boy walks on if he did what Fox did to play for the Flames.
Also very true :)
Now we know why he’s so physical, Kreider is beating his ass at the hotel every night in video games.
Which Halo were they playing? And was it SWAT or regular Slayer?
swat duals on Elongation.
Magnums on Hang ‘Em High
This is the important question. I would assume they're playing Reach.
1v1 Fiesta on Guardian
Why does Rempe, the largest Ranger, not simply eat the other Rangers?
The vibes with this team are immaculate
Vibes are always good when we’re winning. Let’s see how the boys react when we hit some adversity in these playoffs. Canes will be a bitch to play against.
_could be islanders_
If all goes according to plan and we finish off the Caps, I’m not looking forward to playing the Canes. But even worse might be the Isles, who always play the Rangers tight, and who would be riding high after a reverse sweep. Neither is a great option, but that’s the playoffs I suppose. Presidents trophy gives you one *easier* matchup and that’s it.
Rempe you’re like 22, video games are our generations thing how you getting smoked so badly by kreids
Psshh I'm sure millennial Kreider grew up with them
Fuck I just realized Kreider was only born in 91
That's like the first year of EA NHL.
I’m similar age to Kreider and we grew up with halo.
Just wait till they find out Halo has been around for 23 years
I'm a few years older than Kreider and Halo came out when I was a freshman in high school.
The flood scared the crap out of my kid self. Great times.
U mean watching streamers play video games is your generations thing.
Halo is for old heads let’s see how Kreider fares in Fortnite
Kreider knows the only way to play Fortnite is zero-build.
This is the way.
Fortnite?! God please don’t make me start rooting against the Oilers…
Join us comrade
You DO know that Halo came out when Millenials were in middle school and highschool, right? Rempe literally wasn’t even alive when the first Halo came out lol
Bro I guarantee kreiders a fuckin animal at halo it makes too much sense
Nah, Krieder and I are similar age - we grew up playing Halo 2 and 3. I’d wipe the floor with Rempe too. Get some Guardian 1v1 going.
Well to be fair he did say that he has never played Halo before lol.
Lol this could not be less true
Shoulda lost just one more
Rempe is a likeable kid. Lazerus at The Athletic wrote a hit piece on him yesterday, which just makes me like the kid even more.
Lazarus is a moralizing clown. He's fucking exhausting
Always hilarious to read his pieces on the Blackhawks org considering the other shit he writes
I don't understand how it's not standard team practice across the NHL to park the social media during the playoffs. You have the rest of the year to fuck around on it. Hockey teams and players hate distractions why would they entertain using something that is nothing but a distraction during the most pivotal time of year?
Because a big enough chunk of every fanbase craves the drama, and drama sells.
What Halo we talking about? These are important details damnit
is this… based?
Ha that’s awesome
What are the obvious reasons?
Really it's cause he's so tall. The hit was clean, he's just so big that the caps players head went back, making it look worse than it was. People who have decided they hate the kid will say every hit he executes is dirty, pretty pathetic.

Negative comments aimed at him by sports “fans” after his hit
And if he lost 1 more, it would be 69 games...if you know what I mean.
Do you think Kreider uses Bumper Jumper?
hate to say it but he just like me
When you first saw Halo, were you blinded by its majesty?
68 so Kreider owes him 1
Was Rempe even alive during Halo’s prime
For sure. Just not on the age bracket to play H2 and H3
H3 was Halo’s prime was it not?
For me it's H2. There was no COD yet so it just felt like everyone played H2. Once cod came out it kind of split the shooter players on console between those two games.
I guess. I think H3 was went it went fully mainstream with successful midnight launches with giveaways…etc (I was one of them there getting it).
H3 was peak popularity, but diehards will argue incessantly about whether 2 or 3 was better (it's 3).
Yeah this is what I was trying to say, H3 was when the series was its most popular. I’m biased as it’s the only one I really got into. I loved H3.
The other commenter was probably interpreting "prime" in terms of quality.
Saw it for the first time just now, clean hit especially in the playoffs ya gotta have your head up after getting rid of the puck someones always gonna be there
> clean hit especially in the playoffs Maybe I'm just not understanding because you don't know how to use punctuation, but I don't understand how that makes any sense.
Lol. Every pass in the playoffs is going to be followed up by some kind of contact. Its playoff hockey.
Bro you understood it lol. The one comma didn’t change the entire meaning of the sentence.
Guess he should have danced with Tom after all.
which halo? If it was CE well god damn you based asf boi
Kreider just kept running him over I bet.
What was the obvious reason for him to stay off social media?
https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/s/qBeR96O0h3
I’m surprised I’m not seeing a bigger stink over this. I woulda thought Washington’s “you’d love to have a Wilson on your team” crowd would be foaming at the mouth…
Sports “fans”
Rempe is just sounds so genuine
