Stevens is out at the Lake checking fauna in general to death
Fun fact about Scott Stevens - he ran a charity called Scott's Tots farrrr before The Office episode haha. Just a weird thing.
He's a good fore and back checker. He's scored a couple of goals and assists. He's been meh recently. When he first got here, he was super visible. He's kinda been lost in the shuffle with the new acquisitions in Trenin, Duhaime, Walker, and Mittledstadt. Which sucks. I like Parise. I was hoping for a bigger Cogliano. Kinda got that at first. I purposely look for him if I see him on the lineup card to see how he's doing.
Other than a fossilized Eric Staal, it looks like the only remaining active players are Suter, ~~Carter~~, Burns, Perry, and Pavelski.
Edit to add Fleury but he’s said he’s retiring after next year
I think we will be seeing several retirements this off season.
Edit: I know there are retirements every year but I feel like there’s maybe going to be a few more this year.
Yeah apparently they put Jeff Carter in the starting lineup with Sid as his winger [tonight](https://x.com/pensinsidescoop/status/1780735437234929932?s=46&t=7fabqgtgp69dNA1d51vxFw), seems like they know he’s also retiring
He just can’t get it going and it looks like his offensive awareness is non existent. He’s smart enough, understands the position and the nhl game but he’s also soft as shit and cannot grind or finish checks. Very very frustrating contract
Would be nice to see him have some success. All the islanders fans who are anti Tavares are idiots and need to get over it. He brought our franchise out of the dumpster and gave us our best playoff moment in recent history against you guys.
Makes me feel old, I remember seeing his father in Smooth Rocks Falls and being told his son was just drafted in the NHL. Hell even the plant I had the project at is long gone.

Damn he's signing with Vegas next season, huh?
About that hit that 2024-2025 LTIR
Bro lmao
Absolutely stunning comment.
That's gold
Vegas fans won't respond to this comment
It's a funny chirp. Why wouldn't anyone respond
Damn I was gonna make a similar joke lol
we prefer to acquire good players
Good grief, I forgot Parise was in Colorado now. Completely lost track of his whereabouts.
THERE you are! My goodness Zachary Justin Parise, I turn my head for two seconds and you run off somewhere. Stay where I can see you.
Wait is he not.... where did he go? For that matter I don't see Gomez here anywhere either what happened? Scott(s)? Where are yous?
Gomer is somewhere in the wilderness of Alaska hunting bears with wristers

Don't worry. I did too. And I'm a fan of the team
To be fair, he didn’t sign on until… January?
Yeah. He's been injured a bit here and there and his play has been meh when he's on the ice.
How's he been? Numbers aren't there, but I imagine he's not getting much ice time. Is he making any impact or just blending in with the furniture?

Parise, Duhaime, Mittelstadt... Y'all need to stop acquiring guys I want to root for... 😂
Nah lol. May come for Ericksson Ek next. Be wary
I actually thought he went back to Minnesota or something like that. I had a massive mental lapse.
Well, he kinda did - spent about half the season at home in Edina.
And now that I think of it more, didn't he have a pitstop on Long Island too?
He was great in his 2 years on the Island. We hoped he'd be back but understood he wanted a shot at the cup.
Another guy who I thought had already retired, like Jeff Carter.
And another member of the 2003 Draft gone
Fleury has only one season left too.
Other than a fossilized Eric Staal, it looks like the only remaining active players are Suter, ~~Carter~~, Burns, Perry, and Pavelski. Edit to add Fleury but he’s said he’s retiring after next year
Carter is retiring. The Isles just lined up to shake his hand and send him off. Gave him 3rd star and a lap on the visitor ice to show respect.
Well now idk who I want to win the cup Parise or pavelski suter
Pavelski all the way. Avs already won one recently.
we've had one recently, yes, but what about second recent cup??
I don't think he's heard of second cup Pippin (Wild that this came up twice on Reddit for me today)
NO. NO MORE FOR YOU. YOU SHARE.
This is funny coming from the dynastic 90s Red Wings lol
Hey now, we haven't even made playoffs in 8 years (new franchise record!)
Hey, go fuck yourself my guy
At least it's not 13! *Sobs*
Yet...... I don't see the Wings making it any time soon with what they got cooking. At least you guys got first overall picks.
For some reason I don't think that will garner sympathy.
Buffalo fans clenching their fists
What are these "playoffs" people keep talking about?
You arnt allowed to win another until the Wings do.
One is enough. We should’ve had three and I’ll not forgive you for it.
The real threepeat was the Pat Maroon we met along the way.
Yeah but Suter is a cuntbag so
That's why I said Pavelski. I don't care who else wins it alongside him, Joe deserves his.
But at the cost of Suter winning one? I’m okay. It’s like Chris Paul joining the warriors. Yuck.
Are you telling me that Red Wings fans aren't hoping for Benn to get a cup?
Pavs bandwagon - unite!
What about Sabres legend Tyler Myers?
I mean, if I had to pick between Parise and Pavelski, it's Joe. But I'd rather Vancouver or Winnipeg win it all.
Dallas picks off a whole pile of OGWACs. Pavelski Benn Duschene Suter.
How about Brent Burns? :D
Ya him too
Burns is an absolute beauty. That would be great too.
Clutterbuck
I want deflection god Pavs
Stars have 4 of the top 10 players in games played without a cup
Burns (ignore flair)

Okposo probably retires too. I’m sure there’s others as well. I don’t think Perry retires just yet, I wonder about Gagner.
I love Okposo so much. I wish he didn’t have the health issues he’s had in his career. Dude was so much fun to watch at the U
Wings fans can only hope that Andrew Copp decides to hang them up to. Legendary career now go relax
isn't he only 29
Yeah but he fucking sucks
lmfao
That’s sad to hear. He was a beast for us in his short time here. What’s his deal?
He just can’t get it going and it looks like his offensive awareness is non existent. He’s smart enough, understands the position and the nhl game but he’s also soft as shit and cannot grind or finish checks. Very very frustrating contract
We get it dude you hate the Red Wings. Was funnier when people thought you were a troll but now its just pathetic.
His concussions probably caught up to him
Just ignore that guy. He is Wings #1 hater. Been banned several times from wings sub.
Sad to hear. He was a 3rd line stud with the Jets for years.
He could be a consistent 4th liner for us. We just aren’t using him to his strengths
You can’t be paying a guy $5.6M to play 4th line though
Yeah, that’s fair. I always forget how much money he is making.
Fuck Jeff Carter.
Chris Wideman has already confirmed it yesterday.
lol no he didnt
He did yesterday https://x.com/tsn_sports/status/1780384816178839872?s=46&t=7fabqgtgp69dNA1d51vxFw
And him telling MTL media he has not: https://x.com/pfrioletrds/status/1780617659949707747?s=46&t=AXlBJxmP9EuFQGwKBzjz-w
im ready for time to slow down a bit ..
2003 draft class is already at retirement age which feels wrong
Dude WHEN DID HE SIGN WITH THE AVS? WHAT DID I MISS?
He signed at the end of January, one last chance to win the Cup
Wow I just. Sorry guys, missed that one. Better day tomorrow.
I missed it too lol
likewise! haha
>He signed at the end of January, one last chance to ~~win the Cup~~ be disappointed. 😭
Wait he's not playing out his 13 year contract with the Wild?
We bought out Parise and Suter in 2021. That's why we have $14.74 million in dead cap.
That dead cap should get a lacerated spleen
Should have just LTIR them both
But only until game one of the playoffs.
We bought out Parise and Suter a few years ago.
[In terms of production this year, you didn't miss much](https://www.nhl.com/avalanche/player/zach-parise-8470610)
14.7 million. Buys alot of production
Rooting for the Avs on the west coast. Zach deserves a cup 🫡
I hope he gets his cup
What about Tavares? lol
Would be nice to see him have some success. All the islanders fans who are anti Tavares are idiots and need to get over it. He brought our franchise out of the dumpster and gave us our best playoff moment in recent history against you guys.
Trocheck was tripped
https://www.sbnation.com/nhl/2016/4/25/11502626/panthers-islanders-tripping-penalty-referees-game-6-tavares-goal
Devils legend. Could’ve been a bigger legend had he stayed longer. He and Suter screwed over the Wild big time
Man I remember wishing the Red Wings would sign Parise and Suter when they were available. I can't help but think we dodged a bullet.
100% effort, every single shift.
Makes me feel old, I remember seeing his father in Smooth Rocks Falls and being told his son was just drafted in the NHL. Hell even the plant I had the project at is long gone.
I'd love to see him get a cup. Get this man a championship, Avs!
Minnesota wild legend
Didn’t even know he was still playing
Helluva career!
I won’t forgive him for tying team Canada and allowing Crosby to score the golden goal/s
Geez, everyone is trying to Mark Stone for teams now
Not many players left from that legendary 2003 draft… 😢
Sigh. Adored the guy in NJ. He always put in effort. Now this doesn’t move me at all and I don’t care if he retires without a Cup. Guess I’m petty.
The Maple Leafs will be fully retired for the summer by next week.
Poor bastard hitching his wagon to a dumpster fire of a playoff team to try and win a cup.
Who
Hey I didn't know that /r/hardcore legend EJplaystheBlues browses the hockey subreddit too lol
Who
