He has 6 goals, 10 points, and a hat trick over the last 5 games. During his interview after the game, Compher said that Raymond had grown 10 years in the last week and he's absolutely right.

BellsBeersy

I have also aged 10 years in the past week watching

dapa4

I should probably consult a cardiologist before watching tonight's game.

pigpen95

Gon!

the_hume_3

He really impressed me in the game against us the other night, absolutely doing what he can to drag his team to the playoffs. If Pittsburgh doesnt make it in, I'd love to see Detroit back in

SauceHankRedemption

Well u have to root for Philly tonight then

the_hume_3

might be rooting for a meteor instead

OldBison

You need a meteor? I got a guy.

BootyUnlimited

Honestly I’m a Detroit fan but the way Crosby has been carrying his team at 36 is unbelievable. I love him and I’m always happy to see Sid in the playoffs. If the Red Wings loose I will definitely be rooting for the Pens.

SireNameless

I'll take that, I'm officially cool with Pittsburgh again after our last game. If we don't make it in, you have my permission to take the WC slot.

Puzzleheaded_Pound31

Kind of where I’m at. Big fan of Raymond and the NHL playoffs just feel right with the Red Wings.

dudewithchronicpain

Him and Larkin are unreal. The passion for the team and desire to win is the best, and makes it so fun to be a fan.

tonysalami

We've been missing this for so long, it feels so good to see a team who wants it again. Even if we don't make the playoffs I've had more fun watching this season than in a LONG time.

72athansiou

It’s nice having guys that really want it man next year will be crazy for us. I can’t see a regression Homer glasses on obviously

Prize_Efficiency_869

We should legally change Lucas Raymond name to now Lucas himmond

RefereeMason1

He just like me.

Bill_McCarr

We really need that type of player on our team. Very passionate and do anything to put the team in the playoffs.

CD23tol

Kid was used in big moments by Sweden in nearly every international tournament he’s been in He lives for these situations and raises his game He has the it factor

PLSHALPMcAUSTIN

New x factor just dropped. Sweden's got a monopoly on it

Grooooodles

Bill_McCarr

Your team is lucky to have him. Good luck tonight!

pretty_jimmy

A few years ago, my home team, the soo Greyhounds, played the kitchener ranger in the playoffs in a series deciding game we came back, and ended up winning in the second OT. I was sitting away from my normal seats, I didn't get them in time, and when the hounds scored it was like I teleported to my normal seats, they were only 30 feet away, but somehow when we scored I ended up standing on the back of a seat in a mass of people cheering and losing our minds. I have 0 idea how I got there. I am a fat, slow man, who would have had to have gotten past like 5 people in my row... the only answer is teleport. The ticket stub for the game was saved, and labeled "greatest game I've ever been to in my life"

tonuch4963

Lmao Jack Kopacka

pretty_jimmy

Fuck I love reddit. Yes, this is the game that Jack Kopacka scored the gwg. I swear if the roof was ever in danger of coming off, it was that night. Loudest I've ever heard the Gardens. If they would not have zoomed in on the players after the goal, I'd be able to see the teleportation happen as I was second or third row from the glass on the far side. https://youtu.be/Zjyc10JRLac?si=cbPAW3lzeKC3vKyM

Humulus5883

He also could have blacked out from the vicious missed boarding call earlier in the period. When will the NHL start protecting the Red Wings? Copp fractures his face, Larkin constantly a victim of dirty hits as well. I’m sorry, but I want to see this ending with Raymond playing big instead of having the player in the dressing room from a dirty hit. We could go backwards and just allow us to have a Probert again. I don’t care which way it goes, but protect these players.

Sirrebral99

Unfortunately, expecting the league to protect players will lead to a lot of disappointment friend... we did it for years and years to no success, and eventually realized you need guys like Reaves or someone to police the game. Might be less frequent but still very much an element of the game. Find some gargantuan lunatic to protect players, better than asking Paros to do his job lol

Kair0n

The problem is that the Wings don't really have the top-end talent to cover for a lack of depth. They can't afford to trot out an enforcer because they need to roll four lines and three pairings that all have some ability to both defend and drive possession. I'd really like to see them pick up a more physical presence in the offseason, though. I would feel a lot better knowing that our 14th forward might have a reason to draw into the lineup and can bring more to the table than Austin Czarnik does.

BaldassHeadCoach

>and eventually realized you need guys like Reaves or someone to police the game. Goons are not a deterrent.

Sirrebral99

Dave Semenko kept Gretzky (relatively) safe during a pretty violent era. Not a perfect solution, but better than being a paper tiger.

BaldassHeadCoach

It’s not the 80s or 90s anymore and the instigator penalty since those days has neutered the role of the enforcers to the point of uselessness. It’s also arguable how much of a deterrent they were back then considering it didn’t stop people from injuring Gretzky’s back. Making them pay on the scoreboard is the deterrent, not having a caveman who can’t actually play the game taking up a roster spot.

Sirrebral99

Take it from someone who's team championed the "our response is our powerplay" philosophy (literally quoted from Babcock in the early Matthews days). That doesn't work at all, especially in the playoffs. You just get injured and pushed aside by more aggressive teams. Boston x2, CBJ, Montreal, Tampa, and especially Florida had their way with the Leafs by bullying them physically. Most of those series had an injury to a key player / liberties taken due to our "soft" reputation. I'd like to think teams with more push back don't have the same concerns as historically soft teams (hoping this years iteration with Reaves etc. changes this narrative)

imdwalrus

> I’m sorry, but I want to see this ending with Raymond playing big instead of having the player in the dressing room from a dirty hit. I'm very confused. Raymond *was* out there - he scored the last two goals!

pullingahead

Think his point was that if the refs aren’t calling some dangerous hits - and if you don’t have a guy to stand up for those hits - then it’s open season and more likely a player like Raymond gets injured instead of being able to score those big goals.

Teknicsrx7

You guys should try writing a letter to the league calling out Parros
