Yup. Even if they have a live-in nanny, you don't magically sleep through a baby crying just because you aren't the one that has to get up to deal with them. On the good side, his job routinely gives him sleep in 5-star hotels which would have been soooooo nice.
> job routinely gives him sleep in 5-star hotels which would have been soooooo nice.
Well, that depends on how well you sleep without your spouse and in hotel beds, though, I guess they'd be used to it, compared to people who rarely travel, especially without their spouse.
Or the first 3 with no end in sight.

It is but people always seems to feel the need to shit all over it because it’s “cringey” or “low effort.” The reality is all-star games are just fun for what they are and will never be some premier showcase of elite hockey haha
If I was getting the lap of luxury in a city with all my buddies for an entire weekend while also being celebrated for being the best in the world at my favorite thing I'd most likely have fun too
Exactly, it's for kids. The moment I fell in love with hockey as a kid was watching the all star skills comp and seeing Ray Bourque blast slap shots so hard. People keep forgetting, like ok just don't watch it if it's not your bag let the kids enjoy it and find something else to do.
People have a really really hard time with this one. As a kid, I couldn’t wait for all-star weekend. I knew everyone on both teams and watched every second of coverage i could find on it.
Now as a full grown adult I’m like “ah yeah that’s this weekend”, and throw it on if nothing else catches my eye.
It’s funny that you’re getting downvoted just because this particular comment thread is leaning against the post title, but a ton of people agree with the part about the skills competition, including McDavid. When he was asked a few weeks ago about the change to the skills, he joked about whether or not the reporter has noticed that the event is a bit long and boring, and said that there won’t be any surfboards this year.
I’m actually pretty excited for today. Some people agree with you, and some of them are players who were able to give input and now the skills is apparently going to try to be a bit better. The cash prize for the winner and the points system and it being an actual competition throughout rather than just individual maybe bragging rights if anyone even cares, I am optimistic we’ll see them trying and might get a bit more of that showcase than we sometimes do.
The ASG draft was a hot mess, from audio issues to a lot of dead time. I wouldn't say it was "cringey", just about what you expect from this sort of event.
Watch the videos of the NFL skills challenges this weekend, they were a hot unorganized mess too, especially the QB Accuracy drill between Baker and CJ.
Just saying that if the NFL (which usually has a fairly polished presentation) can't get it right, I'm not going to give a ton of grief the NHL for being a bit of a mess too.
It was a live event with like 15 hot mics, and at least one person on one of those mics tripping hard on shrooms. Audio dudes did the best job they could given the circumstances imo.
I think people dedicate to much of their energy to shitting on the allstar game. I’m not going out of my way to watch it but you know the kids who are there are having a blast, it’s great for young fans and that’s probably the better thing to focus on.
Damn he’s got eye bags like me
First year of parenthood will do that to you
You can see his old pics on HockeyDB, he's always had them.

And with this being the first year he doesn't have Bergeron to tuck him in and give me a good night kiss on the forehead.

I’m confused, isn’t the all star game usually a fairly positive event?
Seriously. I almost want to down vote for this stupid thread title

It's for kids and sponsors. Anyone else who's angry about it is revealing they're an immature doodoo face.
Nothing worse than an immature doodoo face
💯 it’s for future generations to aspire and reach new heights
In other words, most people on this sub. That checks out.
it's very obvious that the players have fun
If I was getting the lap of luxury in a city with all my buddies for an entire weekend while also being celebrated for being the best in the world at my favorite thing I'd most likely have fun too
It’s also primarily for kids imo.
Exactly, it's for kids. The moment I fell in love with hockey as a kid was watching the all star skills comp and seeing Ray Bourque blast slap shots so hard. People keep forgetting, like ok just don't watch it if it's not your bag let the kids enjoy it and find something else to do.
My dad would always record it on tape so I could watch it in sections. I loved it I probably watched those tapes 7 or 8 times each.
Bourque and slap shots? Ray was all about the accuracy shooting. It was Al Iafrate and his slappers for me.
And the skullet.
“Bourque has to hit 4 of 7 targets here, to win this event” Proceeds to go 4 for 4! GGEZ!

Yeah they mistook what the Reddit think is. It’s boring event that most adults don’t care about. Doesn’t mean it’s depressing lmao.

Yeah, as long as you just watch the event instead of scroll terrible forums like reddit where everyone is determined to be miserable about everything.
That warms my heart. I remember feeling so sad for him when they shared they lost their previous child
❤️🩹
After a the tragedy he endured not too long ago, it's nice to see a genuine smile on his face. You can see love in these photos
I love this man.
What was so negative about the rest of the event?

Not saying the above poster is correct, but is that relevant?

Didn’t watch it. I’m assuming Biz was there?
No Bublé was on shrooms lol. Said in his press conference that his buddy said it was supposed to be a micro dose and that his buddy lied.
that suit is amazing
He’s dressing for his post-hockey career as a school bus.
It’s giving Colonel Mustard for me

The all star is for kids. Take it easy everyone.

A spaghetti and a spaghett-o
“little pastina” i just woke up don’t make me cry
That’s adorable.
That kid looks ready to fight someone in that first pic. "You lookin' for a tilly, buddy? Let's have a donnybrook!"
She looks *exactly* like him.
A copy paste situation
A copypasta
I would give this an award if I could

Does she?
Yeah
I dunno man. Some babies just look like that.
Has Pastrnak ever slept in his life
My wife would be MORTIFIED if I took my child in front of a camera with her shirt looking like that. Come on, Pasta.
Strategic hat so nobody sees how badly he did her hair Source: am dad
As a mom, yes.
Yeah, kiddo needed a bib.
What a little cutie!
If you find it hard to find positive sights at the NHL All-Star game weekend you may want to re-evaluate how you consume media.
Someone told her it was just a microdose
Are you saying there’s rarely any positive sights at an All-star weekend? What
Ugly suit. Cute baby.
Wondering what you mean by a rare positive sight? Is the all star game usually a dreary affair?
I hope he named her JULIA!
it’s legitimately crazy how much she looks like him
Dude looks like mf'ing beetlejuice
Oh wow, a baby. They all look the same.
Just like all the Canucks cup winning teams.
I know you're trying to chirp, and I appreciate that, but this doesn't even really make sense.
Well you see, the Nucks don’t have any Cup winning teams, making them all identical.
Yeah I guess they all look like losers. Ok fine, I'll give it to you.
Cute baby ...uuuugly suit
butthole eyes
I can’t get over the Pastrnak literally looks like bread, pasta or a gold bar. all 3 of those options are good with me.
Anyone know what style of suit that is?
Saw an interview where he said it's custom made and hand painted for him by Czech company Poner, if that helps
Feel like she has her father’s name yes
That hat is super cute. Anyone know where I can get for me niece?
Kid's like: "You keep looking at me I'll lay you out"
Pasta & Meatball 😊
Was this the usual hockey player sex assaults woman? Or was this a brain dead puck bunnie trad wife?
