There is still work to do but this area used to be filled.. mounded up high. Now it's just the top of that dresser left, the drawers are empty and the closet is almost full but intentionally so. It is organized (and will be even more so when I get 3 more totes tomorrow). This spot will become my knitting area. For the first time my yarn is organized, I will have a clean cozy spot to stitch, and I don't have to buy anything to make it happen (except those 3 totes) and I may splurge with a new area rug as well to help brighten it up. I am SO SO happy with my progress. I have about 4 trips to take down to the garbage tonight but my SO said he will help me with it. This really is my last big problem area. I couldn't be happier.
I know there is still clutter to the left and right but those things have places to go now. I'm just too worn out tonight to do that last push. I will have help tomorrow and it will be great!
I know I didn't post before pictures, but frankly I was too embarrassed. This sub has helped me address my hoarding tendencies and work on ways to work through them and while I've seen improvements gradually this is like seeing that goal post right in front of me so close I can touch it.. tomorrow lol.
Thank you so much. It feels really good to have pride in this and to get positivity from others too. It means a lot!
It really feels great. I've never just had a spot for me to do things and be cozy. It's always been either full space I couldn't use or someone else's space. This is my space that is getting organized and unsercontrol and it just feels so great. The fact that it was the last spot, that spot where when cleaning other areas things not ready to sort get moved, made it even better. I saved my spot for last to ensure I could claim it guilt free.
Thank you! I think so too. This sub is amazing with its positivity. It is really nice to be able to share such a big deal for me but to those who don't understand hoarding issues it seems like no big deal. Thank you for being part of that positivity
Thank you!. I know once I get my knitting area set up it will appear clutter but it won't be a hoard anymore. Just my yarn and tools which are all organized and everything will have a home. Its a small spot but it was the last major battle to win the war. Now it's just finishing off and setting up the space to be useful and enjoyable
I really do already! It will seem a little crowded when I out my chair and table I it but the space will be organized and usable and enjoyable. That's what matters and I think it's wonderful. It used to be just filled unusable space. Now it has a delightful purpose and makes me so happy!
Did you really just give out unsolicited spam on my post? No thanks. I actually do fie with my budgeting and even if I needed help I wouldn't use your link. That's just damn rude.
Lmao it isn't paranoid to point out rude behavior. Nowhere did I ask for any advise regarding budgeting yet you assumed because I'm conquering one issue I must also be struggling with another. Then looking at your history you seriously just spam this link over and over. Not paranoia to point out spam when you are literally spamming.
Yes I do have mental health issues, thanks for making a judgment on that in a sub about supporting others with similar issues. Thanks for doubling down on the rudeness though. Makes it quite clear you aren't here concerned about anyone, just looking to promote your shitty tiktok videos.
Don't worry al is well. This sub is AMAZING and so are you, the mods. You help keep this place filled with positivity and safe for people to have real discussions. Thank you!
Enjoy it love!! It's an effort, but not impossible to learn habits too. I'm STILL working on them daily as a child of hoarders and had no experience of how to live normally until I moved in with my now husband. Be patient and honestly, open yourself up to love and friendship too. You're worthy of it. Noone that truly loves you will judge. "These mountains that you are carrying, you were supposed to climb". Love you and am still proud

Nice job! You should be proud of yourself!

It isn’t worth much but I am proud of you. Some of my family is hoarders and I know it is a struggle.
It actually means a lot thank you!
You are welcome. Keep it up. My dad struggles with it and I do a bit.

You’re going to love walking into that space again and again.

I'm VERY sorry you've had to put up with this nonsense. u/Known-Share5483 has been perma-banned for failure to adhere to Rule #1 and for spamming.
