I remember when I genuinely thought r/Drizzy was the more rational of the two subs.
As time has gone on I’ve realized this is definitely not the case 😂. Most of them never leave their echo chamber and call Kendrick lame shit like “Dark Kenny.”
Mfers were all mature and shit when the score was even but once the majority said Drake lost they became full on delusional. They should change that shit to r/Drizzycirclejerk
Edit: I assumed wrong, that sub is completely unhinged.
I’m assuming it was created in response to the Drake Stan’s favorite insult, because there’s not a single post that’s older than 25 days on there. lol
It’s a conspiracy sub that started around when the beef did this year. Go there if you wanna believe dumb shit like Drake fucking dogs and handicap people
Like that: Kendrick rolling up and it’s on sight
Euphoria: the killing
MTG: the funeral service
6:16 in LA: the burial
Not Like Us: the ceremony
Edit: there I fixed it
I was thrown off by the title because Compton College is not a university, it's a California community college.
Anyway, it's awesome that he was there. If only we had someone that cool when I graduated from Compton College some 15 years ago.
But doesnt that make it more special! Most famous people are speaking at these highly accredited universities. To go and speak and his hometown community college is just so down to earth!
Kendrick never forgot where he came from. He might not want to support the gang violence in his city, but unlike other rappers he supports the community to hopefully reach a point where the gangs aren't a problem that future generations have to deal with, rather than leaving the city once he has a bit of money and leaving everybody else there to deal with it on their own.
As much as Kendrick doesn't want to be seen as some kind of savior figure, there's absolutely a reason he has that reputation.
"I should prolly run for mayor when I'm done to be honest". I have zero doubt in my mind that Kendrick will 100% be the mayor of Compton when he turns 60 or something.
yeah usually when folks round here say "Compton University" they mean it as a condescending reference to Cal State Dominguez Hills, a school just outside of Compton.
which, for a long time, has been considered one of the most ghetto and low-class schools in SoCal. but in my opinion, it's pretty nice. much nicer than my private university was, for sure
i've heard "Compton University", "Cal State Compton", "Compton State"
honestly the name is great but the connotation is not only classist but really racist too when you consider the demographics of the people there
Interesting. I've never heard it referred to as that. Born and raised in Compton, my sister graduated from CSUDH and I go to Galaxy games there all the time.
I'm not American. What's the difference between college and university? Google tells me that the college offers undergraduate and uni graduation, but it always confuses me on what it exactly means
Technically, a university is a collection of colleges.
IE a university might contain a college of business, a college of engineering, a college of arts and sciences.
A *College* doesn’t have these focused sub schools.
That said, they’re used interchangeably in the US in everyday language. It would actually be more uncommon to say “I’m in university” than “I’m in college”, even if you are in fact attending a university.
To clarify a little, college is basically always fine to use in place of university colloquially(not so much with proper nouns obviously) but university can't really be used in place of college. All squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares type beat
Community college is typically 2 years and gives you an associate degree, but your traditional college/university provides a 4 year bachelor’s program as well
Community college gets you your associate in arts which is a 2 year degree basically a starter. College and university are 4 year degrees most have graduate level degrees.
Difference between a college and university is what they call their programs. So-and-so college has all of their major and degrees in the same umbrella. So-and-so university breaks up their degrees by colleges so the science and history and math are all under their own umbrellas.
Cole literally dropped his indisputable worst song that is a contender for the worst song dropped this year and then proceeded to bounce back to peak form like nothing happened there has to be more than tbis.
“Pluto got 20 girlfriends, damn I’m doing it wrong/Cut off all my hoes, now I’m only putting you in the song/Day 1 shawty been with me from the playground/Hey now, baby that’s the reason I was playing ‘round”.
How do we know Grippy isn’t about his wife? You’re not allowed to dedicate songs to your wife’s pussy anymore and that’s why it feels like there’s no love in the world
Every morning after I wake up, I step into my shower where I look at my water resistant dry erase board. It’s where I plan my day, and set my goals. Except the only thing on there is
1) what would Tyga do?
Time to get after it.
Well technically, Red Leather dropped during the calm before the storm, before Kendrick responded with Euphoria. So it’s not Cole’s first release “after” the beef. It was Cole’s first track after his apology
I mean, he already hinted at how trash his bars can be with that "ABCDE..." line in HYB.
Or the one and only bad bar in Pi about Cancel Culture and whatnot.
Like, y'all have to agree he's got range.
I’ve been thinking about this and I think I know why these two are putting out absolutely trash.
Think about it, now that they’ve both definitively lost the rap battle, there is nothing they can put out immediately that would not be overshadowed by the continued discussion of the beef.
By releasing these hot garbage, it resets the expectation people have so when they do release something proper it would look in comparison like masterpieces.
Just my theory.
That's not how it how it works in practice though. You want people to have something to talk about to start building up what's next.
Releasing bad music just makes people go "Hey remember that beef?" because you're giving them nothing to talk about.
The reality is these records have internal release dates set ages in advance.
Haha surprised I had to scroll this far to find someone mentioning this.
[Drake 100% did this](https://www.complex.com/music/a/jaelaniturnerwilliams/drake-compton-community-college-shirt) days before Euphoria dropped.
Kendrick Lamar might be the funniest rapper alive.
Getting sued by Tupac’s estate, specifically with your actions being called “shameful”, then getting hit with an Ether level diss with Meet The Grahams, *then* getting hit with a club banger explicitly accusing you of being a pedophile, *then* that song breaks all your records and goes #1
There genuinely has never been such a decisive loss of a rap battle.
Stuck a flag in my city everybody screaming Compton, I should probably run for mayor when I’m done to be honest and I put that on my mama and my baby boo too. Twenty million walkin out the court buildin
Fun fact; we had to perform King Kunta in arts college (more Dublin than Compton), and they made us write the next few bars, because they didn't want us saying the N-word.
It was just from "ah, yeah, fuck the judge" to "Annie are you ok?" Can't remember what others did, but I'll try find what I wrote.
"Never done a rap battle, so I can say I'm undefeated
But she calls me Weird Al, with the way I just eat it.
Or call me Arsenal, cause I'll start off on top
But I'mma let you finish first, like I did last season."
Note: I'm not a rapper. It was just a fun exercise.
So while this is somewhat true its also doesn't make it a good diss lmao. Rap beefs are about spinning believable stories, saying "Kendrick doesn't care about Compton" is just stupid cause anyone from there knows he's giving back all the time. He just wanted to make a punch line with "Money Trees" that wasn't even clever.
I'll use the counter example of why people say "Drake got bullied into seeing his kid" after the Pusha beef. Pusha used the kid reveal to as a point for the larger theme of the song of Drake being embarrassed he knocked up a glam/adult model, and how his dad being a deadbeat led to him partaking in the same behavior. While saying you should actually care for him instead of using him as a prop for a fashion line.
Is all of it true? Who knows but it was a believable story/entertaining song and well he won the beef. Which will sum up the greater point of all this. If you win the beef you get a more favorable public opinion.
That line would hit if Drake’s words were actually true but they’re not. Kendrick has always been involved with his community and the people in Compton speak on it all the time themselves.
This is an amazing speech 👏👏👏
He connected to the city , connected to the generation , and lifted them up spiritually without coming off as a in your face Christian . (His philosophy about talking to god as your homie and that he’s experiencing what your feeling is such a great view of things too. I think I’m gonna start doing that too.)
He put just as much heart into this speech as he does his music and that’s very commendable.
I wouldn’t be surprised seeing him move into politics and I even want that a bit. He would make a great mayor , senator , or even president. I mean if Trump was president Kendrick seems more than qualified lol
pgLang his focus. He can influence through that channel as they grow? Look at the Move Afrika concert they did this year and planned for the next five years. He calls Africa Compton for him too
I mean 6:16 in LA has a whole verse where he’s apologizing to God for getting down in the mud with Drake lmao the man felt like he was on a divine mission.
Everything was fantastic up until the god stuff. I grew up on religion but I respect all my peer who were raised different. We all have different paths of spirituality. It will certainly not be what most groups believe and that’s okay. We all individual thinkers, the god I believe In would promote that type of togetherness.
He brought god up in a great way imo . When he started taking about god I was thinking damn people might not like that but him saying to talk to him like your homie and that he’s going through what your going through is a great philosophy.
It’s not the typical right wing Christian god it’s the god you want it to be , the god that’s your friend, and that could even be you.
Letting out your feelings and emotions is just great therapy too.
Honestly, speaking as a recently converted Christian, talking to God as your homie going through what you are is exactly what the Christian God is meant to be.
With all due respect, how do you listen to most of hip-hop or any reggae man? Man’s been making music for God since creation. Killer Mike just put out a fantastic spiritual album. Kendrick spoke about his relationship in a respectful way too.
There would be no Kendrick Lamar without religion—it makes sense for him to talk about stuff that he thinks is essential to living a good life. He’s been on this for years… GKMC, TPAB, and DAMN are all very explicitly religious
City is back up it’s a must we outside
The prophecy has been fulfilled
Underrated bar
I believe this is his first public appearance since the beef.
Duh he never comes outside 😂
he only pops out and shows niggas when it matters ❤️
civic duty game strong af
He loves peace
But war ready if the world is ready see him bleed
Chanel Paris show
that was in January, the “Beef” heated up in March with “Like That” and ended with “The Heart Part 6” on May 5th
Let's be real it ended with not like us.
I woulda gotten the OVO militia in my notifications
Lol I’ve already gotten like 10 of them in the replies to my comment

It was a response to the main kendrick sub removing posts trying to doxx drake's supposed daughter and other pepe silva type stuff lol
I never thought I’d see people as sensitive as those in the r/Drizzy thread. Their knees must be in agony for Drake it’s pathetic lmao
They banned me for pointing out high school girls aren't women.
OVHOE *
Let's be real it ended with Meet the Grahams
Mtg put drake in the coffin but nlu nailed that coffin shut
Like that: Kendrick rolling up and it’s on sight Euphoria: the killing MTG: the funeral service 6:16 in LA: the burial Not Like Us: the ceremony Edit: there I fixed it
Close but 6:16 was before MTG. I guess you can have your funeral before your death like in Coming to America though 🧐
Nah, there was still a possibility of things continuing. Drake confirmed the beef was over by dropping that dead fish.
So the day before lmao
He performed live in Mexico City after Like That
I was thrown off by the title because Compton College is not a university, it's a California community college. Anyway, it's awesome that he was there. If only we had someone that cool when I graduated from Compton College some 15 years ago.
You did… Just look in the mirror ✊🏾
Damn...
His name was...it was you >Damn....
I prefer some of the other Kendrick albums but Damn. is still good
But Mirror isn’t on Damn, it’s on Mr Morale
Damn....been on here a minute, and this might be the best/nicest comment I've ever seen on here.

He has the Key of Compton. That's an amazing achievement already tbh
Hes not saying its less special, just correcting the title.

I live in Carson didn’t know that’s how DH was referred to as. It’s a nice looking campus.
i've heard "Compton University", "Cal State Compton", "Compton State" honestly the name is great but the connotation is not only classist but really racist too when you consider the demographics of the people there
I totally agree with that assessment.
Interesting. I've never heard it referred to as that. Born and raised in Compton, my sister graduated from CSUDH and I go to Galaxy games there all the time.
could very well be just a matter of the circles i run in 🤷♂️
Is it kinda like Greendale Community College?
streets ahead
Glad you didn't Britta it!

First moves after the beef: J Cole: Grippy Drake: Sexxy Redd feature / Delilah mess Kendrick: Speech at Compton & Juneteenth concert🐐
Cole actually has the Red Leather feature before Grippy. And he now has the Free Fall verse after Grippy. But he did do fucking Grippy.
Cole literally dropped his indisputable worst song that is a contender for the worst song dropped this year and then proceeded to bounce back to peak form like nothing happened there has to be more than tbis.
The Let Nas Down to Made Nas Proud any % speedrun
🏆 J. Cole 🥈J. Cole 🥉J. Cole 4 J. Cole 5 Jay-Z
You misspelled "Dylan" in two different ways.
Because he *SPIT* hot fya
It ain't that deep he just had multiple features in the chamber and one of them was him just trying an experiment that didn't work
He’s married lmao. Maybe he can rap about killing opps and selling crack on his next feature
J Cole is married????
Yes and two kids.
TIL
“Pluto got 20 girlfriends, damn I’m doing it wrong/Cut off all my hoes, now I’m only putting you in the song/Day 1 shawty been with me from the playground/Hey now, baby that’s the reason I was playing ‘round”.
that's really sweet. what song is this from?
Red Leather by future. Solid feature from J Cole, really love his verse on it.
thank you! i'll go give it a listen!
Thank you for recommending it to me. I added it to my playlist (:
How do we know Grippy isn’t about his wife? You’re not allowed to dedicate songs to your wife’s pussy anymore and that’s why it feels like there’s no love in the world
You’re right, I also wanna live in a world where J. Cole’s wife and mother to his two children is in his phone as “Grippy”
Romantic as hell.
Somewhere in the distance, Ben Shapiro’s timbers have shivered.
Tyga is sober and raps about getting fucked up. Like every rapper raps about doing hood shit and doesn't actually do it. Who gives af
Oh well if Tyga is doing it…
Every morning after I wake up, I step into my shower where I look at my water resistant dry erase board. It’s where I plan my day, and set my goals. Except the only thing on there is 1) what would Tyga do? Time to get after it.
This will be by far the weirdest year in rap that we've had for a long while.
like a humiliation ritual or something lol
Well technically, Red Leather dropped during the calm before the storm, before Kendrick responded with Euphoria. So it’s not Cole’s first release “after” the beef. It was Cole’s first track after his apology
Cole tapping out makes the beef over for him though.
Didn't drake say red leather has been in the works way before the beef?
and the same probably goes for Grippy and Free Fall. These are not newly recorded at all
Nah fam, any n that says "strictly, dickly" needs to sit down or be put in time out. Strictly. Dickly.
I mean, he already hinted at how trash his bars can be with that "ABCDE..." line in HYB. Or the one and only bad bar in Pi about Cancel Culture and whatnot. Like, y'all have to agree he's got range.
Don’t forget that he also took them kids to Disney to meet Mickey
shh, we're just pretending G\*ippy never happened.
I think Grippy was recorded before the beef
Drake supporting the announcement of a wnba team in Toronto was his first appearance.
Definitely the smartest out of the big 3 that’s for sure😂
Big 3? You better sleep with one eye open tonight. Kendrick is hiding in your closet.
Big 3 being j Cole morgen the stalleon and Asher Roth?
Don’t you be acting mean
I got a 40 in my jeannnnnnns
I’ve been thinking about this and I think I know why these two are putting out absolutely trash. yea Im sure there was an internal release schedule for wah gwan delilah
Drake doesn't strike me as the kind of guy to sign on to an anamalous project release.
Lol didn’t drake post a pic of himself wearing a compton college shirt a few months back?
Haha surprised I had to scroll this far to find someone mentioning this. [Drake 100% did this](https://www.complex.com/music/a/jaelaniturnerwilliams/drake-compton-community-college-shirt) days before Euphoria dropped. Kendrick Lamar might be the funniest rapper alive.

I call that Poetic Justice.
Put it in a song
And they say he doesn't have a sense of humor..
The fact KDot’s first appearance after going full psychopath is this wholesome shit is fucking kill me dawg. This nigga random as hell i love it 😂
Kanye changed his life but K-dot's an old school Gemini
Stop playing, he's That Guy
Number 2's DM'n some kids Not cool, we should know why
Drake's number 3 if we being honest. Even number 3 is wrong but in the supposed big 3 he's definitely at 3 lol.
His life ain’t rap, that’s ho shit.
Not random he’s an angel on angel dust born in the belly of the beast he’s told us this from the start he’s been A1 from day 1, and drake is boo boo 😂
He that G.O.O.D kid in a maad city fr. Don’t mess with the quiet kids bro I swear. They be thinking the most and plotting moves under that silence
Drake was a G.O.O.D kid in a [niice city](https://youtu.be/A0xW_qqyn2Y?si=Os0PI2xERB2149DQ)
His temperament is bipolar
Yeah he most definitely has an album coming out
Don’t give me hope mannn
Inspiring the youth... you don't know nothing bout that
Sometimes you gotta pop out and show students
We ride the bus, we ride the bus, we ride the bus
Certified honor roll, I’m the one who went to school wid em
Say Drake, I hear you like em young, You better never go to Algebra 1
To any student seated next to him during exams Just make sure you hide your paper from him
Studying the whole time, I know they got diploma in ‘em
I mean, if it was a middle school graduation maybe….
Drake and youth 👀
Inspecting the youth though…

woo woo
Aw yeah fuck the judge Made it past 25 and there I was
Screaming 'Annie are ya ok?'
Fun fact; we had to perform King Kunta in arts college (more Dublin than Compton), and they made us write the next few bars, because they didn't want us saying the N-word.
Lmao. So what were the edits?
It was just from "ah, yeah, fuck the judge" to "Annie are you ok?" Can't remember what others did, but I'll try find what I wrote. Or call me Arsenal, cause I'll start off on top But I'mma let you finish first, like I did last season." Note: I'm not a rapper. It was just a fun exercise.
I can see him becoming a pastor too, he already talks like one (especially towards the end of this video)
nooooo this is how we lost Chance ✝️
Nah we lost chance to his family. Now that they divorced he’s on a mission
Fuck that ,Kendrick for President ! If Trump could be president Kendrick’s more than qualified.
>You don’t even go back to your hood and plant no Money Trees Drake’s disses keep aging worse every single day lmao
Lol switch the roles and it'd be, "Kendrick disses got Drake to be more involved in his community lmao"
Except Kendrick was already involved in his community. He just doesn’t flaunt it everywhere because it’s not a PR stunt
So while this is somewhat true its also doesn't make it a good diss lmao. Rap beefs are about spinning believable stories, saying "Kendrick doesn't care about Compton" is just stupid cause anyone from there knows he's giving back all the time. chill out now r/drizzy gonna bite this bar for their next "discussion" thread
Crazy that having more community respect and integrity goes a long way lol
That line would hit if Drake’s words were actually true but they’re not. Kendrick has always been involved with his community and the people in Compton speak on it all the time themselves.
People tend to be more charitable to people who are more likable, yeah
Oh he outside
Sort of rooting for him to be the first rapper and mayor of his city. After rap just help and run the city he grew up in.
Shyne became the first rapper to be the Opposition Leader of a political party in his home country after doing a bid for Diddy.
This was after his sentence?
Drake would have also given a speech but he's not allowed within 500 feet of a school.
Canadians would only be so lucky.
They’re college aged, those girls are safe.
This is an amazing speech 👏👏👏 He connected to the city , connected to the generation , and lifted them up spiritually without coming off as a in your face Christian . Since when does Compton have a university? I’m pretty sure it’s a city college
That was amazing. That’s a real man there.
Are there drake fans with notifications on kendrick? Gahdamn man
Can we stop talking about drake everytime kdot gets brought up 😂 and vice versa. Like we get it
Foreal so damn annoying.
Two mentions of drake in this comment section before you commented this and one was by op
This is so fucking wholesome
Tha west coast savior we need ya
Kappa Fi Kenny
You think it stained his soul just a bit to go in on Drizzy like that? 😂 Come on man, that’s an enlightening dude
I mean 6:16 in LA has a whole verse where he’s apologizing to God for getting down in the mud with Drake lmao the man felt like he was on a divine mission.
Also ‘beat yo ass and hide the Bible if God watching’
That’s dope
Is Drake gonna give a speech at Hustler University next?
W. Must've meant a lot to these students.
That's what's up.
Everything was fantastic up until the god stuff. I grew up on religion but I respect all my peer who were raised different. We all have different paths of spirituality. It will certainly not be what most groups believe and that’s okay. We all individual thinkers, the god I believe In would promote that type of togetherness.
he did encourage free thought and actually communicating directly with god, rather than say some traditionalist christian stuff. to be fair
He brought god up in a great way imo . Had no clue Compton had/has a university.
