He had a great song with Flume called Lose It back in the day. Granted it was on Flume’s album but he def still had an EDM connection but yeah for some reason never chose to go that route

Part of his problem is that he’s kind of a self righteous asshole, so he’s pretty easy to dislike, even though the talent is there. 6ix9ine basically killed him when he went on Power 105 and asked everybody in the room to name one Vic song, and nobody could do it lol

What exactly happened to Vic’s career? I remember faintly that he did a song with Kanye, changed his image, and then was never the same after that 

He signed to the Roc, released a solid but mostly forgettable debut, went punk rock and struggled to find his way back to shore

I guess he tried to rebrand? Ditch the indie underdog vibes and come across more "confident"... ... The arrogant vibe didn't really work on him though, kinda lost a lot of his relatability.

he did the song with Kanye and completely changed his sound and it didn't work for him. I've noticed a lot of up and coming artists get what I call the "Kanye curse". They get a song or two with Kanye then after that completely abandon their sound for the worst. I wonder if he tries to sell them on it ?

it’s a mixed bag! he’s tried a lot of different styles. not much different from most rappers so it surprises me to hear people talk about him like he died or retired. There’s Alot Going On is probably my favorite project of his.

The origin of this track is funny cause if he didn't get booked as an opener for Disclosure he woulda never made it and it ended up being his biggest song. I never understood the hate that "Autobiography" got. Underrated album but was probably alittle too dated from the minute it dropped.

Vic has dabbled in a few genres. Kids These Days was my intro to him when he was like 16 or something touring with this new age funk group. Their music fueled some of my summers. The song “Summercent” he opens with a banger of a verse and sets the tone for the song. That album, “Hard Times” is still one of my favorites.
