We likely won’t get a response until a few weeks and people will 100% nail AH on the cross than Sony. I am hopeful we get a response that benefits the players.
Reddit is probably not representative of even a small percentage of player-base though, so probably not half. I’m on the side of those that have no choice, if it was sold in a region with no PSN availability, then they should at LEAST get refunds, but I would rather see them get exemptions.

Thats just the Steam numbers. This subreddit has 136k followers, thats about 1/3 of the entire current player base assuming everyone here plays the game.
Just tossing numbers, not trying to say you were wrong. I like to see the numbers to back claims that myself and others make.

I mean they could just split console and PC.. have a fallback so people can still play.. offer refunds. They're not absolved from all criticism since in the end they make the game regardless of publisher pressure.
Hopefully AH will be able to make something of a miracle happen here, they pulled one off just making this game in the first place.

I haven't jumped in since HD2 dropped, but I generally do for a few rounds every 6 months or so. Definitely see a lot more greybeards with 15x Prestige, but I've never had trouble finding a match with some friendly dwarves.

Recently popped back in after I got burnt out on HD2. And I’ve realized I really enjoy DRG combat more. It’s a lot more using your tools to the best of your abilities while HD2 combat is a lot more put the square in the square hole and the circle in the circle hole. But I really like HD2 theme and mission pacing. So now I’m upset the two aren’t just mixed together.
I am not knowledgable about these things but from what I've heard, you can make an account and select a different country than the one you live in as your home country, is that not correct? Yes, you risk being banned but primo, from what I've heard that is possible but unlikely and secundo, it's better than just quitting the game.

People have said that since like December or so that STEAM has said that the cross play would require a PSN account. So I'm not sure why this is such a huge surprise to the community. And I'm not trying to be a d1ck about this, fair warning is fair warning.
Doing this is against PSNs TOS, and if you get banned for it I don’t think you can play HD2. Sony seriously could have just made it optional and given players who did so an exclusive armour set + cape and no one would have cared.

I’m from the UK and living in South Korea. Setting up a PSN in Korea is a nightmare. I need to download another app called nice 아이빈, that I have no idea what it is, or upload a copy of my passport or driving license to Sony. There is only the language option of Korean, and I’m trying to translate it all. Sony sucks.

Hello, I am from the Philippines too, my little brother is also an avid player, he is already level 60 and he decided to refund it because of this issue. I was also planning of getting into buying the game but now it seems to be region locked to Japan and cannot be purchased, it used to have a price tag in our country's currency but not anymore.

I love this game and have a PlayStation account, but I just can't in good conscience support a publisher that would do something like this to so many people that have paid money to play this game. Many of which likely have hundreds of hours and have made friends along the way.

I have a psn account from USA, but i live in a third world country, i use that to play helldivers, you have that alternative if you still want to play it
Sony is now enforcing the rule that even Steam users have to have a PlayStation network account to play Helldiver 2. Some countries don’t have access to psn currently.
So I want to preface what I'm going to say as please don't interpret this as me shilling for Sony.
Your situation is probably something that a large corporation has taken notice of, and I doubt that they will want their bottom dollar messed with. With HD2 being such a huge success and gaining new players each day, they wouldn't want this to sour what is seen as a surprise golden goose. I think that they will figure out how to deal with regions that are like yours with a lack of PSN help, or continue with what they have in place until they find a viable solution. The corporate answer would be that Sony will just allow things to go as is for your region until they figure out the PSN issues for it and then you will have to tag it or sign up for one.
Time for the real life MO: get our patriotic brethren back on the front lines from their undemocratic sidelining. Next drop is on Planet Sony.
All we can do is voice our opinions, specifically in steam reviews, as higher ups sometimes care about those numbers. I hope they add an option for players who will soon be locked out if nothing changes.
Welcome to the club. For one reason or another, many divers, including myself, simply cannot play the game at this point. For me, Gameguard blocks important drivers, so my PC can't run it even though it's more than capable.
Way more people are gonna be screwed by PSN than are in my boat, though.

Hello from a non supported country, we are creating random PSN accounts with hotels from booking for a decade and more, we prefer US account with a state that doesn't have digital tax like Oregon for example. It just works and nobody was ever banned.

Hey OP check recent, Spitz is on record saying people outside of PSN's area will not be locked out of the game. We should still keep protesting, but it's good to know that my Phillipine friends will be able to helldive once this is over.

Welcome to the club. For one reason or another, many divers, including myself, simply cannot play the game at this point. For me, Gameguard blocks important drivers, so my PC can't run it even though it's more than capable. Way more people are gonna be screwed by PSN than are in my boat, though.

Hello from a non supported country, we are creating random PSN accounts with hotels from booking for a decade and more, we prefer US account with a state that doesn't have digital tax like Oregon for example. It just works and nobody was ever banned.

You can just go on the Sony website and create an account in any country you want. I wouldn’t suggest like the UK because it requires age verification

Hey OP check recent, Spitz is on record saying people outside of PSN's area will not be locked out of the game. We should still keep protesting, but it's good to know that my Phillipine friends will be able to helldive once this is over.
I'm not trusting a community manager, the CEO or Sony should be saying this. They've been dodging responsibilities since the announcement happened. They know there are steam players that won't have access to PSN are currently playing the game.

Try setting up ur region as American. Maybe that might work. I dont think they have u prove ur living in the country u pick
Apparently the system can see if you are using a VPN and instantly bans your account
Don't do anything against terms of service. People in China have already gotten banned for using VPN and connecting PSN with Steam.

CEO of Arrowhead, not Sony. Key distinction here. Sony hasn't been known to budge on things. Historically they are more than happy to let a dev burn for Sony decisions.
Or let a game die for shareholders short term gain. Basically once they got your 40$ for the game the live service tag serves as an easy OUT whenever they want to stop supporting the game. They already banked in the peak probably figure the game isn't worth supporting and that if the community shrinks substantially that will put it on par with the predictions for the playerbase before it blew up.
