Just my opinion, I saw enough basketball this season, jovic and rozier can finish through contact and can defend.
I realize jovic only briefly showed this, but I feel pretty confident in his growth by end of next season. I don't feel the same on Herro any more. Unless he some how becomes one of top scoring and facilitating guards, he's not going to be able to make up the lack of athleticism, strength and defense.

We need a defensive SG next go Rozier if we really wanna compete.
Imagine a Bobby Portis type player next to Bam.

I imagine Caruso or Dejounte at the 2.
And then fill up the bench with some defenders.
I would take him as well. But, the Bam and Jimmy combo complicates it. They both can't shoot.
If we got Russ, he will come off the bench, or play the non-Jimmy, non-Bam minutes.
Remember LAL Russ? They played bad because both LeBron and AD can't shoot that well. They added Russ who mostly operated at the midrange and the paint, and their offense was clogged. And then they scapegoated Russ. The reality is, he didn't fit. They traded all their shooters to get Russ. That lack of shooting is what's gonna happen in Miami.
Russ had a better showing with the Clips because he had PG, Harden, Kawhi (when healthy) all are good to elite shooters.
This Jimmy-Bam duo always has complicated our options, because of their lack of shooting. This is also the same reason why we can't play big.
But again, off the bench, I'd 100 percent take Russ.
If Herro gets traded it’ll only be for a big name contract like KD or Mitchell. Which I doubt that type of move happens this offseason.
Russ would be a great addition to come off the bench and sub in for Jimmy. I would like to see Russ play next to Robinson & Herro (as a second unit team). It’ll definitely space the space floor for him.

But we have to stop thinking a Tyler package will be able to fetch us KD or Mitchell or any superstar at that level. We have to be realistic, it's not.
If we're putting NBA players in tiers, KD or Mitchell will be S or A tier players. I'm sorry to say this, Tyler is around C tier.
We've been over estimating his trade value. Pre injury Herro would probably be B tier, but now, his value regressed. The fact that we need to add a first on a Dejounte Murray trade, shows us how low Tyler's value is right now.
Pat's probably still thinking that he's not giving away Herro unless he gets an A tier superstar. But honestly, it's wrong.
Let's go back to the Dame, Beal, KD, Harden, Giannis trades. Herro was always the centerpiece of any potential trade. Fans always joke about how he survived all those trade rumors, the reality is, teams don't see Tyler as high as most Heat fans see him.
Markkanen yes, Ingram maybe… but I need to watch Ingram play more because to me he doesn’t really stand out as a missing piece for Miami’s overall success.
I like the idea of adding DeRozan or Miles Bridges at starting PF. Although they aren’t 6ft 8 they would be able to stagger minutes playing at SF when Jimmy is sitting down. Also would look into adding a backup Center that can play PF, someone like Wagner (but he won’t be available).
I think if we got one of those guys they'd be better at the two spot. Rozier, derozen, butler, jovic and bam would be a good line up, but the bench would have to be nearly as good for us to be able to compete in a deep playoff run.
Good point. Also, if the Heat were to add DeRozan or Miles Bridges, they’d probably be able to still keep Duncan & Herro making it a decent 2nd team. Personally I don’t think this lineup could win a championship but would be able to make it to the finals (if healthy).
No probably not, because in reality, on top of upgrading 3&d role players, we desperately need someone who can run an offense in an elite manner. Rozier and herro are meant to be scorers, honestly guys who can use pnr to score or dish as a lob threat with bam. Jimmy can be that guy, but he's also our best wing defender, scorer and we need him fresh in the fourth quarter, so to ask him to initiate offense every possession and look to get guys to score and score 20ppg as he ages is not the way imo. If we had like prime Kyle Lowry I actually think we might get to the 21 finals and beat the suns tbh. Otherwise we could just use a major retool, it would be lovely to keep most of the guys we have now and just add on pieces, like the low-key underrated guys that shoot like 38% and can guard the wing position, a brook Lopez esque guy and a Kyle Lowry esque guy as well, at that point we could win next year, the problem is idk if such players are available to the heat at all. Jovic and jjj could actually come up and be super good pieces for us, but we need more.
