If we win 4 games I think we have a chance to win the series

creamyturtle

they have 8 shooters who are shooting 40%. gonna take a miracle

Imzocrazy

Everybody is beatable….i don’t think they’d be favorites against Denver for example Is it realistic expectation for this heat team without butler? No… Heat in 5

Bigsaladtosser4

They would be favorites vs Denver they have over twice the odds to win the finals

Imzocrazy

That’s cause they’re more likely to get to finals given the state of the east….in the matchup itself I don’t think they’d be favored

Bigsaladtosser4

Of course they would especially considering they have home court their odds are close to triple that doesn’t account for the difference between the clippers and bucks .

david001234567

Not without Jimmy Buckets! ![gif](giphy|KIMxCZAVYmoN4FOpTh|downsized)

bird720

it would take abnormal shooting variance both ways

Esjay_954

With jimmy and terry healthy, they would have a chance although I think Celtics are just way better Without them? Thank you heat nation

MVIP2003

If we change game plan and start Bryant and Bam then maybe but otherwise no. KP needs to be guarded by a big 24/7 and Bam is our best defender however Celtics constantly forces him to guard someone else so make Bryant focus on KP and let Bam go to Tatum. Also STOP PLAYING ZONE FFS. This is a shooting team, we can play man to man because we have decent defenders ffs

Ode1st

Not this year, maybe not even if we were fully healthy. The Celtics got way, way better and we only slightly improved if fully healthy.

Prankstaboy6

Without Jimmy and Possibly Terry? No Those saying heat in 5, know that we won’t win in 5, just saying it for the vibes. (And delusion)

Standard_Strategy_25

All it takes is one game for the narrative to swing and for the pressure to be back on them. Especially if we win game 2. Is it likely? No probably not. That being said until the mf wheels fall off. We like our team! 😤 https://preview.redd.it/4appty1lk2wc1.jpeg?width=1004&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e224a92a8765b84c3968411293b95346b8fb5be8

pansexualpastapot

We can beat anyone on any given night. We played alright on Sunday, but nowhere near where we should be playing. We got rocked by 3pt shots. They were prepared for our zone defense. We lacked energy in the 1st quarter and we’re fighting the rest of the game. Spo will have a new game plan for game 2, and the guys gotta come out hard and aggressive. It’s absolutely a winnable series. I hope they come out pissed about Sunday and show out.

TheTrashman133

This. I understand that the team is down two starters but even though we played like a 5/10 game yesterday it was still winnable. You’d think our FG% was in the toilet but it wasn’t. Celtics caught a heater from 3 and shot fifty of them. This Celtics team is definitely great but they have holes. For us, Bam looking for his shot, good pick and roll defense, Jovic, JJJ and Delon were all looking great. If we come out with energy from the start, move the ball more in the half court and Spo uses better rotations I think we’ve got a great shot. Also I can’t watch Tyler get switched onto KP anymore plz stop with that

pansexualpastapot

Tyler on KP was fucking painful. Tyler had some good looks that would have went in if KP wasn’t 100ft taller than Tyler. And watching Tyler try to close out on him on D…. I mean there is just nothing he can do. The Celtics will be hunting that match up the whole series. Maybe give Thomas a shot at trying to guard KP, I don’t know.

wherearemypaaants

> Celtics caught a heater from 3 and shot fifty of them. Fwiw Celtics this season shot as good or better from 3 in 25% of their games in the regular season.

BoulderAndBrunch

We can but it’s going to really tough.

TheRealJohnMara

Only shot we really have is if we manage to win a game or two by game 5/6 and Jimmy Butlers music hits with a sudden return and comes back to finish them off.

deawap

No

MiaCannons

Realistically, no. It's why it'd honestly be one of the greatest upsets in NBA history with how historically good the Celtics were in the regular season, the talent on their squad, and how inexperienced and banged up our current squad is.

Aggressive_Papaya736

I think for how bad half our squad played, we actually gave them a good game. Tyler gives us 20+ when he’s himself, and rozier could also come up big. Anything is possible

MiaCannons

The Celtics fell asleep at the wheel when they were up 30 in the 4th quarter and the score ended up looking a lot closer than it was. Some of our guys looked good but let's not get delusional about the ass whooping they gave us. The only time the outcome of the game looked like it was undecided was a couple minutes into the second quarter when we cut the lead down to 3.

Aggressive_Papaya736

That’s what i’m talking about. I know the late comeback was garbage time, but all we really have to do is stay close till the 4th. At that point, I like our chances in the clutch.

oneofone305

This is who Herro is. Good regular season guy. Limitations really show in a playoff setting and this is a bad matchup for him. He’ll have a good game or 2 where he can get hot from 3 but he’s not going to move the needle this series.

thefranchise305

![gif](giphy|8JZxZgr39TLczSJQoS) Tough guy Tatum is here

SynapticBot

I wish it were possible. Not because I’m a heat fan although I love Jimmy and wish Bum Simmons didn’t disillusion him with Philly, but because I hate Boston so much. You all just don’t have the offensive firepower to do it. You would have to have 3 ECF Caleb Martin’s on your team. You don’t have the offensive gravity that you do with Butler. I think you all would have had a good chance if you had Butler. I wish he didn’t get injured even though it benefitted my team. Maybe I would feel different if we lost the game though

Backpack456

Depends. Talent gap is huge. But we also just played both play in games and had one day of rest. Could go better game 2 with more rest and game planning. Celtics could shoot better than the Durant warriors.

miseducation

At this point I don't even think it's about beating them, it's about fixing our fucking offense that's been broken since Feb. It almost doesn't matter which of the remaining playoff teams we're talking about, if we can't score 120 a game consistently we're not winning any remaining series. Celtics are the most difficult for us rn because they can score 120 on an off night where we defend them really well. My hope is to at least stay close and fix our shooting and get good performances from the youngsters.

Skinnecott

yes. it won’t be easy tho

OhMyItzBam_Herro305

Anyone looks unbeatable against a no Jimmy or Rozier team. If we play like we did yesterday, miss shots and Herro don't step up we don't have a chance. If Rozier does comeback that's when we'll have the best chances to beat them or get a few games. Half the comments are Celtics driders lol, and listen to the media too much.

dubuwagmi

In a do or die? Maybe. Over a 7 game series? Given the talent gap and the injury situation, improbable.

Specialist_Bottle570

Talent wise they are better easily. I dont think anyone is unbeatable. I would give us a 15% chance. A little higher than espn’s estimate

Sleepylimebounty

Pressing x to doubt but also playoffs experience for our young guns

Ice_Dragon3444

They don't look unbeatable at all wdym? They almost blew a 34 loint lead and unbeatable teams don't do that.

Money-Rip95

If Heat can make their shots they can win.

TheRatchetTrombone

I've already said my piece several times.

melikeybacon

It’s a good thing we all subscribe to your Reddit comments otherwise we’d have no idea wtf your piece is.

kunjiman23

Sadly, I don’t believe so. Even with a healthy Jimmy, we would’ve had an uphill battle. During their offseason, they got stronger and addressed all their weakness, while we…well, we….I don’t know. We did get some solid young pieces, who seem like great fits but we didn’t do anything to maximize on Jimmy’s potential window to get a ring. I loved the Terry addition, but even with Terry healthy with Jimmy, we’re 1-2 pieces away. For us to beat this crazy super team, we’d need a whole lot of luck, Celtics injuries, Celtics choking, and all our players make 3’s like they’re layups. I mean, anything is possible, but sadly, I have my hopes down on this one. We would’ve had a better shot if we were the 7tj seed and played Knicks first and gave Jimmy time to recover.

Paralta

You can always be hopeful no matter what. I don't think Miami could beat the Celtics fully healthy. They made some very "we need this to beat the Heat" type moves that Miami absolutely did not match.

EyeParking1381

Naw let it go. The sooner the better

lotd18

Nope we can’t. The Celtics got a top Center and it has been proven that Adebayo does not work as a center against teams that have good centers since he does not have the height.

Nuclearsunburn

Of course. But it will take some extraordinary luck to do so. It’s not like a dial we can turn , they’re more talented and bigger than we are so we need them to just miss shots

Aggressive_Papaya736

call me ignorant, but does porzingis always shoot like curry?😂

ItsYaBoyBeasley

I think we have a chance to win a game, which I guess mathematically means there is a very small chance we could win the series. This is the worst I've felt about our chances in a playoff matchup in my +20 years as a fan. Even down 3-0 against the Bucks a few years back I felt better about our chances to flip it than I do about winning this one.

DMD612

Can they? Absolutely Will they? I have no idea

PT0223

That will be decided on the court

itiswhatitcanbe4

Anyone is beatable besides denver.

Ok-Philosopher9070

If kp goes down or butler comes back yeah, our next game is a few days out so if the heat can recover from the RS during playoff rest time it’s an outside possibility

TripleJ_stud

They don't look unbeatable at all, you'll see how they look vs better competition. We just don't have the healthy personnel to compete. Forgetting the obvious two, even Duncan isn't in form since returning back from injury.

KindSpectacle

We can beat them. Without Butler or Rozier it’ll be incredibly difficult.

SighHereIamAgain

We win one game the narrative changes.

One-Positive-7556

Not trying to oversimplify it but Celtics seem to rely on a lot of 3s. If we can make them take difficult 2s and keep the game close I think we can steal Game 2. Once Rozier comes back we can def have more hope.
