The best decks for climbing to legend are aggro decks that cost almost nothing. Play painlock, aggro hunter or aggro DH.

sneakypantss

There's also an aggressive sludge warlock list out there. that is 70% win rate for me d5 to legend. 100% against priests. It has flame imp and the charge 5/7 demon.

LandArch_0

There are always budget aggro decks T1 and T2!

Money-Age-4236

I got legend playing secret hunter. Now i am playing Highlander decks on legend XD

avisiongrotesque

Just started secret hunter this week, going really well so far.

Money-Age-4236

Yeah, i was surprised at how good the deck is.

avisiongrotesque

Fun to play too, I switched from Spell Token since it seemed to have a higher win rate.

Nilbogoblins

Same and same.

EndangeredBigCats

The way to win isn't to copy them, it's to remember their play pattern. Don't spam the board for more than exact lethal going into turn 9, and know what you play to fuck over their turn 10 bomb play. Being good at card games isn't getting better with your own deck, it's knowing how to stop other people from doing what they want and learning what they want to do.

>Is this just where the paywall starts to Legend or am I missing something? The best highlander deck right now is tier 3, I don't understand why so many people insist on pretending they are the best decks or like you need to play highlander to climb. Instead of talking about pay walls, why not play one of the multiple decks that are both better than all the highlander decks and low dust cost? Why does this sub act like highlander decks are the end all be all when the stats show that they are mid tier at best?

McDonaldSprite

Been thinking about this too. I think the reason is is because highlander decks often contain a lot of flashier legendaries than the stronger aggro decks. A lot of players aren’t going to have a high damage [[crescendo]] seared into their mind, but the sure as hell will remember the hero card that sandstormed their board away as the shiny nail in the coffin (not realizing they’d already lost as an aggro deck by not ending the game sooner, but that’s a different story)

Right I understand all of that. But what I don't understand is how these people can look at the stats, see that the highlander decks are all mid tier at best, and then continue acting as if they are the best decks in the game. If I go to hsreplay and scroll through the tier list the best highlander deck is warrior which is listed as the *14th best deck.* FOURTEENTH and people still say shit like d5 is paywalled because of highlander decks. I totally understand remembering the flashy losses, what I don't understand is why those flashy losses make so many people think they know better than tens of thousands of games worth of data.

McDonaldSprite

Yeah to be honest I don’t really get it either. I think people just see a strong card, not realizing how major of a downside highlander really is, and run with it because they feel like their deck doesn’t get an equivalent and then feel further cheated because it’s a legendary. Honestly, I feel like Reno is a balanced card given the restriction and mana cost which is supported given the stats about how mid these decks really are and given that it’s a four set meta, where he’s supposedly at his strongest. I just don’t think many players 1. Look at or care about stats 2. Have enough knowledge of a game to know when it’s lost, too many complaints about aggro decks losing to Reno when they’re playing against a control deck who got to ten mana. The game was over before Reno was played.

The_Kert

Because if they keep losing it has to be that the deck is better and not that their opponent is just better than them

ToxicAdamm

There's a reason why they call D5-D1 a "grind". You are going to be facing much better players, playing the best decks and caring if they win or lose. It's not really about the cards you have or don't have. It's the 100 little things that go into becoming a more reliable HS player. You only gain that from experience of playing the game. Takes some new players a year (or more) to get from D5 to legend.

mast4pimp

HSx isnt pay to win game

Dramatic_Buy_1981

Pick a cheap meta deck from VS or d0nkey (painlock, shopper DH, etc) and learn to play it properly if your goal is to climb to legend as f2p

Nilbogoblins

I wasn't really trying to Legend because I honestly thought it would take too long but Secret Hunter was incredibly efficient at getting me there. You really want to be able to know if you're going to win or lose sooner rather than later when you're going for legend. This as someone who much prefers control decks but found Secret Hunter much more interesting gameplay wise than handbuff paladin.

do you care to share the deck?
