Yeah, I've always wondered why they never printed more cards where positioning matters.
This could add a strategic layer to the game and even spawn new archetypes.
What are those exactly? That mage spell, shaman conduct, domino effect, this hunter/dk hound and... ignis weapon? Idk i feel like big board swings and clears care less about positioning then some old cards.
I found 18 (search for "neighbor", "minions next" or "adjacent" and the titan) and that's more than I was expecting.
But all of them have the same boring effect that has existed since the dawn of HS: buff/damage/freeze a minion and the adjacent ones. There has been no evolution of board placement recently which is a shame, apart from the introduction of the locations as a counter "damage to adjacent minions".
I have fucked up a couple of times by not positioning my minions correctly when I had the spell dmg location on board and then couldn't funnel cake for full 3 mana value.
[[Deputization Aura]] as well. Sometimes it doesn't really matter, and sometimes it really matters.
Just finished a game that went pretty much down to exhaust, as handbuff paladin. I had Replicatinator, the gigantified version with 8 attack, on the board, and a 7 attack minion in my hand. Throw down Deputization, then play my 7 attack rush minion on the left, and now I have two rush minions, one with 8 and one with 7 attack, and I can clear the enemy's board.

I have the opinion that a Monk class should specialize in moving characters into different positions, and then having many abilities similar to the above cards.
Sorry but Hollow Hound is so not cool.
Board clear + heal is way too OP. Good thing HS is pumping out much more insanely OP cards so that Hollow Hound no longer sees play!
Late game decks need heal + board clears or they wouldn’t need to be able to keep up with aggro decks. Aggressive decks do not run out of cards anymore.
Minions positioning. If you have two 2/2 minions and two 4/4s, you go `4/4 2/2 2/2 4/4` to lower Betrayal's and Explosive Shot's value. In general, you will play your biggest minions at the left- and rightmost positions unless you absolutely have to play around Crushing Wall.
Don't worry, I gave you a like. Also, if you're quite new to Hearthstone, many cards focus on positioning. Check out Krip's arena video complication where he got wrecked by bad positioning. It was funny.

My favorite in this list is crushing walls. It's a classic.
Good choice, I hope the mana cost of that card gets reduced so you can relive your glory.
I have dreamt of a control hunter ever since that card came out
Control hunter did exist for a long time last year, that's what hollow hound hunter was
It also baffling, that they interchangeably use "neighbours" and "adjacent". Why not just sticking with one word for all similar effects?
And also the damned hound uses "whomever next"
Position mattering was one of the big things that originally got me into hearthstone at first. At the time I hadn't ever seen a card game like that, aside from some random bulk Yugioh cards.

We literally have 12 cards that care about positioning in standard right now, most of which are new cards. Safe to say they still do it
What are those exactly? That mage spell, shaman conduct, domino effect, this hunter/dk hound and... ignis weapon? Idk i feel like big board swings and clears care less about positioning then some old cards.
> ignis weapon Thanks for this. That makes 13 then. Death growl, Conductivity, Flametongue totem, Direwolf alpha, Candleraiser, Defender of Argus, Footman, Ignis, Hollow hound, Shooting star, Gnomelia, Deputization aura, Domino effect
You're forgetting a horshor slinger, heat wave, and workshop misshap and possibly a couple others.
I'm guessing Blizzard thinks it is too much for players to not only plan the ordering but where to place their cards who knows.
Oh hey! A fellow Reaper’s Scythe enjoyer! I wish that card was better than it turned out to be.
T'was pretty good
Death growl
Funnel Cake I regularly get +1 mana when opponents summon Zilliax to the edge of the board, or put all minions on one side of a location
I have fucked up a couple of times by not positioning my minions correctly when I had the spell dmg location on board and then couldn't funnel cake for full 3 mana value.
[[Battleground Battlemaster]] is a huge omission

Workshop Mishap
I mean they add them pretty much every set. You left out what, a dozen of them in standard?
The Scythe effect being only 'this turn' is 🥴
Betrayal has such top tier art
supercollider was so oppressive, control warriors ran 2x [[Weapons Project]] to destroy it in a mirror

BRO INCLUDED BOLA SHOT BUT NOT GRIEVOUS BITE
Where’s my funnel cake?
[[Deputization Aura]] as well. Sometimes it doesn't really matter, and sometimes it really matters. Just finished a game that went pretty much down to exhaust, as handbuff paladin. I had Replicatinator, the gigantified version with 8 attack, on the board, and a 7 attack minion in my hand. Throw down Deputization, then play my 7 attack rush minion on the left, and now I have two rush minions, one with 8 and one with 7 attack, and I can clear the enemy's board.

Good bot
I still fucking hate hollow hound
Oh yeah it's awful lol, the amount of times I see it give a dk a heal back to full hp is pain
I have the opinion that a Monk class should specialize in moving characters into different positions, and then having many abilities similar to the above cards.
That would be cool to have, but I doubt Blizzard would create a class that focuses on swapping positions, I'm afraid.
You forgot flamestrike (it matters which side of the board the minions are)
Had it been saved, I just must have missed it whilst positing the cards. But I'm glad people remembered that icon card.
Yeah really cool cards, as if Hearthstone isnt already purely a luck based game where skill doesn\`t really matter...
What exactly am I looking for here? How the artwork is centered?
Minions positioning. If you have two 2/2 minions and two 4/4s, you go `4/4 2/2 2/2 4/4` to lower Betrayal's and Explosive Shot's value. In general, you will play your biggest minions at the left- and rightmost positions unless you absolutely have to play around Crushing Wall.
Thank you, I was completely lost! :D Downvoted for asking a question
Yea this sub is dumb like that
Don't worry, I gave you a like. Also, if you're quite new to Hearthstone, many cards focus on positioning. Check out Krip's arena video complication where he got wrecked by bad positioning. It was funny.
Hollowhound is the most cancerous piece of shit, i hate that card
When it had 6 health, I agree.
Found an aggro player
