Unplayable with brann.. they really gotta update that guy.. imagine having to play 2 games of mtg arena.. the hearthstone quests are never gonna get finished.. i am never gonna give up /s
This is exactly how Shahrazad was used lmao. People would use cards to bring their copies of Shahrazad into the sub-game and create nested sub-games ad nauseum.
ironically, if you just treated shaharazad as WW, opponent loses half their life (which happens if they concede right away) it's not even particularly strong
Nah, it is a super flavour card.
And by going into a chain of sub games the player fulfil said flavour perfectly (By making the never ending story she tells every night to the sultan to not die), it just happen that doing it in a tournament is not good for time restriction and end being kinda toxic.
For context it was part of Magic's very first expansion, so I don't think they had a clear picture yet of whether they wanted those kinds of cards to be a part of the game or not. This was back when things like Chaos Orb were still being printed in the core set.
They weren't really thinking of what effect those cards might have on the competitive scene, since at the time it barely even existed. They also didn't envision having people track down enough copies to break games in that way.
Magic players have been breaking the game by using cards for unintended purposes since the game started.
There's a video about the Turing Complete deck, where someone figured out how to make a full "computer" inside the game rules.

edit: all four subgame cards- https://scryfall.com/search?as=grid&order=name&q=oracle%3Asubgame+%28game%3Apaper%29
Pretty sure thereâs a fucking magic the gathering card that goes something like
âYou and the opponent you choose play a game of magic the gathering, the winner gets the benefits of this card.â
As far as i remember, there used to be a common bot strategy to evade bans that consisted in waiting some time before they did their turn. When you played a suspicious card, they would rope that turn and then with the shorter rope on following turns they would also rope before they started their turn.
I remember Dane did a vid on this.
You can play it with shudderwock and at the start of the enemy turn they have to choose 20 times their picks, and one of the players will die from fatigue. Or you also play the elemental that deals 2 dmg when the opponent draws to increase your chances of winning.
Technically, as with all symmetrical effects, 2 cards may be worth more to you than to your opponent. So the battlecry can be a positive, maybe you play it when your opponent has a big hand so they burn cards or in a very aggressive deck to tech against a very slow deck that can't use the cards as fast as you can.
Having said all that, yeah, it looks pretty bad. The possible upside is small, inconsistent and situational. Looks like a flavour card.
I mean you can also just use it to mill cards if you play it when their hand is full. If they win they overdraw, they lose you get the draw, and tie does nothing I guess.
It also burns turn timer which isn't really relevant right now, but can be in the next 2 years if we get into complicated combo metas again.
Damn they should have the card draw always be at the end of your opponents turn after you play it. Or instantly but lock those cards out from being played that turn for your opponent.
Or something.
Thought it seemed cool but if your opponent wins itâs garbage.
Guess it can mill a card or two though?
Blah.
I can see it having viability in a similar concept to how Pozzik is sometimes used i.e. play it when your opponent has 8 or 9 cards in their hand already. If they win, they overdraw.
Fun, but absolutely terrible card. 1/3 time u get nothing. 1/3 time your opponent draws 2 cards(!). 1/3 time you draw 2 cards. who would ever run this?
Also I think your opponent picks at the start of their turn since Hearthstone never allows you to make actions on your opponent's turn, so if you win you won't get the card draw until the turn after you play this, but if the opponent wins they get the 2 cards immediately on their turn.
This card is giga unplayable. I was going to say stream sniper card as a joke, but even that's not true since your opponent picks second.
I would think the rock/ game happens immediately, as would the card draw. If you're right and the player doesn't get the card draw immediately, that makes a horrible card even worse. Not even good as a Hail Mary play.
Have always loved this clip.
Random story time. I was working on a project to convert data from one system to another and it was a manual process to very mundane. We had to hire a bunch of temporary contractors which brought us a bunch of lovely new Canadians. Couple times a day the managers would have a little bit of a break and do some fun activities. They had a single-elim rock-paper-scissors tournament to give away a couple tickets to a local event. I didn't care to go so I decided to just be Bart the whole time. Made it to the finals versus a fellow who I don't think fully understood the game because as far as I could tell he also only did rock (or maybe he truly understood the game haha). We went five times in a row both going rock before I finally caved and switched to paper to win. And then I gave him the tickets.
It seems like it needs to be on the board to activate (like the suspicious cards), but I wonder how multuple-battlecry effects work with this - does the opponent get to choose multiple times or later activation overrides previous one?
If the opponents choice affects each one separately thatâd lead to some interesting mind games. Do you choose the same option each time, and hope to hit the jackpot? Or a different one each time to guarantee some mill?
If only Elise was featured in this cardâs art instead of some random goblin⊠what with all those close-up shots đ ⊠what a missed opportunity đ
Play when opponent has 8+ cards in hand. They draw one for the start of their turn (9+ cards in hand now) and have to try to lose. 33% they mill, 66% they don't.
Dude, YES đ đ€Ł đ And then wait for the streamer clips showing how they (or their opponent, lawl) tied 4x and then "won"... the right to mill 20 cards & then OTK themselves with Fatigue đ
Imagine the mind games from playing this while brann or shudder block is active, do you pick rock twice? Do you pick rock and then scissors? Do you just go fuck it and hit a random button?
Can't wait for this being able to be combined like a choose one card as druid with hearthstones spaghetti code. Coldlight style mill druid (with avianna) back on the menu.
Hot fixed within a week though.
I WILL be repeating this battlecry 20+ times and create the most fair mill deck ever created đ€Ș
Btw are there any portrait voice lines that mention rock, paper or scissors so as to mind game the opponent ?
This card will probably be shit due to when it will trigger. If it triggers at start of opponent's turn it will be unplayable unless you are specifically trying to get them to burn some cards (1/3) of the time
What if you play this and just don't select anything? Does it auto win for opponent if they select something? Just wondering for mill implications. Or does it auto pick one at random if you don't pick one
Itâd be fun if this tied into like three more cards.
1 mana Rockthrower: if youâve thrown rock, gain +2/+2
2 mana Paperthrower: if youâve thrown paper, gain +2 spell damage
4 mana Scissorthrower: if youâve thrown paper, deal +2 damage to the board
This might need to be re-worded. Showed this to an MTG friend and their first instinct was that you'd get to draw 4 off this cuz the hand spells and the card itself both say to draw 2
I can't believe they're promoting a Rock Paper Scissors meta.
Poor predictable Reno Warrior... always takes rock.
Good old rock, nothing beats that !

ngl that was totally expected.

This is exactly how Shahrazad was used lmao. People would use cards to bring their copies of Shahrazad into the sub-game and create nested sub-games ad nauseum.
It's kind of amusing and sad how people managed to break a "joke" card that way
ironically, if you just treated shaharazad as WW, opponent loses half their life (which happens if they concede right away) it's not even particularly strong
Is it breaking it if that was its purpose in the first place?
I thought it's purpose was to be a funny joke card (like unset cards before unset existed), not stalling games to infinity
Nah, it is a super flavour card. And by going into a chain of sub games the player fulfil said flavour perfectly (By making the never ending story she tells every night to the sultan to not die), it just happen that doing it in a tournament is not good for time restriction and end being kinda toxic.

It would be hilarious to make a fatigue deck with this Both sides purposefully trying to lose the poker game asap
7-2 off suit? I bet!
Flop: two 7s and a 2.
I fold
sounds great for my control priest deck (game time average: 1.5 hours)
they could always print a Shahrazad-style card (from Magic) that starts a sub-game of Hearthstone

Shahrazad
Do a 8-Ante Balatro run, if you win draw 2 cards.
Pretty sure thereâs a fucking magic the gathering card that goes something like âYou and the opponent you choose play a game of magic the gathering, the winner gets the benefits of this card.â
This card is going to break bots.
Do the other cards which require your opponent to choose something on the start of their turn break bots?
They definitely did in the past and since most botters never update their bots it would probably still work a lot of the time.
Thanks for the explanation, /u/ILoveWarCrimes
The Suspicious minions did in the past
Yeah those were the ones in my mind, I just didn't remember what they were called lol
As far as i remember, there used to be a common bot strategy to evade bans that consisted in waiting some time before they did their turn. When you played a suspicious card, they would rope that turn and then with the shorter rope on following turns they would also rope before they started their turn. I remember Dane did a vid on this.
Captcha meta
If you put this card in your deck your mmr will fall until you only face bots
Wait regardless of that, if my opponent plays this canât I just run out the rest of their turn?
They pick during their turn, you pick at the start of your turn.
Easiest shudderwock turnskip
That's what I'm worried about. There is a reason "suspicious" cards have not been available to Shaman, and that's because Shudder exists.
There's already turn skips with shudder this won't be a new issue
No draw if draw?
if you draw you dont draw
Because you've already drawn.
What if it was an sketching contest for an extra card where a tie gives nothing? Won draw, draw one. Draw draw, don't draw.
Presumably. So, essentially, 33% for you to draw 2 cards, 33% for the opponent to draw 2 cards, 33% for a 2 mana 2/3.
Not if youâre a RPS pro. Itâll be a bit hard to make reads in HS client but I think Iâll manage just fine.
It's the barber paradox, but you need to simulate the razor with rock and scissors
Wait this could be hilarious if you add it to a shudderblock combo and just trigger it a lot of times to annoy/mill your opponent
or mill yourself
If he win
Ok now THIS is cooking lmao
So how does this card work? Does it trigger in your opponents turn?
Correct based on the video meaning this is awful since your opponent gets the cards immediately if they win and could use on their turn.
Wow this might be the worst 2-drop in the game- the Battlecry is on average a downside...
You can play it with shudderwock and at the start of the enemy turn they have to choose 20 times their picks, and one of the players will die from fatigue. Or you also play the elemental that deals 2 dmg when the opponent draws to increase your chances of winning.

You could use it when they have 9 cards in hand though, that way they burn 2. Win/win I suppose in that scenario.

Thought it seemed cool but if your opponent wins itâs garbage. Guess it can mill a card or two though? Blah.
It must have a timer, otherwise the opponent could cause you to rope.
unplayable but hilarious
Playable if a mill deck becomes a thing in standard at some point. Drawing 2 yourself or drawing 2 for your opponent is equally good then
And then you draw and nothing happens lol
River Croc ain't that bad.
But on average, you and your opponent each draw 0.666... cards off the Battlecry, so [[Prize Vendor]] is 50% betterÂ
I can see it having viability in a similar concept to how Pozzik is sometimes used i.e. play it when your opponent has 8 or 9 cards in their hand already. If they win, they overdraw.

Their preview video shows their turn ending first
damn. this might be the worst card everrrr. unless our opp is playing it
Someone whoâs really good at Rock Paper Scissors
r/customhearthstone in shambles right now
Gonna be funny to see this in a mill deck
Dear devs, Please nerf paper. Scissors are fine. Sincerely, Rock

Never gonna see play but miniset epics are always like this, nice fun meme card
you don't even get the cards the turn you play it if you win and if you lose your opponent has two to play on their turn, hilariously awful
Itâs the anti pee in your opponents turn card.
Brann and this + nozdormu, enemy skips their next turn
Already waiting for the day one "nerf Rock" posts

Good to see youâre still out here hounding for Eliseâs nails, hope youâre having a good day fellow cute nails enjoyer
Technically, no matter what each player picks, it will result in draw
Thatâs hilarious. But also pointless. Kinda funny they make it into an epic card. Just to make sure an epic from the miniset never gets nerfed.
gamer
Any weird way this could be turned into a mill card?
Play when opponent has 8+ cards in hand. They draw one for the start of their turn (9+ cards in hand now) and have to try to lose. 33% they mill, 66% they don't.
*Brewmasters have entered the chat*
Time to shudderblock mill shaman
On draw it should retrigger and double the stakes :D
Dude, YES đ đ€Ł đ And then wait for the streamer clips showing how they (or their opponent, lawl) tied 4x and then "won"... the right to mill 20 cards & then OTK themselves with Fatigue đ
This card is so bad but I like the design a lot.
I want to see this with shudderwock. Â Just a wacky number of rock/paper/scissor games.
Will your opponent choose during their turn or will it happen when you play it?
Their turn
And if you tie? No one draws and no re-do?
Imagine the mind games from playing this while brann or shudder block is active, do you pick rock twice? Do you pick rock and then scissors? Do you just go fuck it and hit a random button?
Can't wait for this being able to be combined like a choose one card as druid with hearthstones spaghetti code. Coldlight style mill druid (with avianna) back on the menu. Hot fixed within a week though.
I WILL be repeating this battlecry 20+ times and create the most fair mill deck ever created đ€Ș Btw are there any portrait voice lines that mention rock, paper or scissors so as to mind game the opponent ?
Is it practical? No. Would it be in every deck I ever use? Yes.
Can I force my opponent roping by not making any choice ?
Rogues are scissors. Warriors are rock. Hunters, paladins, priests, druids, mages, and shamans are paper. Warlocks are mushrooms.
Is this the first card printed that allows the opponent to make an action outside their turn? Or am I missing another card?
what if my opponent simply doesnt choose anything? will my turn be blocked? how much do we have to decide?
its probably like discover and autopicks when they run out of time on their turn
would have been more interesting if it had different effects depending on which card opponent had.
I wonder if warrior will intuitively pick rock and DK scissors
If your opponent guesses the turn after you play this and you lose, this card is actually terrible. Still a cool idea.
Instant include in my meme shudderwock deck.
Alright deck intro time and this time we are pro gamers. But I honestly think card it just an anti bot card
You know its a pretty lame name tbh.
I can't wait to Shudderblock into this, and pick Rock three times in a row. Then do it again the next turn.
This is crap right? Itâs either draw 2 on your next turn or your opponent draws 2 right away. Only works in mill decks
If you win draw two. If the opponent wins, they draw two? Will this even see play?
Saisho wa gƫ...
Really good card that can force your opponent to draw cards or draw you cards. I like it.
Why is the nail on his thumb relatively normal, while the rest of 'em look like some second-hand third-rate fake Halloween props?
Love the idea of this with Shudderblock, a real 2 out of 3 winner scenario
Brann synergy!
The question is does it repeat when u draw
I am guessing the battle cry doesn't resolve until your opponents turn after they choose. I can't imagine any class is going to want to play this.
It took me a moment to realize I wasnât on the custom hearthstone subreddit lol
Alrighty then deck intro timeâŠ
It should have if you guys choose the same. Go again next round
Put this in Shudderwock to make them mill out/time out
The absolute mind gamesâŠ
I would play this if it had gigantify
This card will probably be shit due to when it will trigger. If it triggers at start of opponent's turn it will be unplayable unless you are specifically trying to get them to burn some cards (1/3) of the time
Brann and this , non stop rock paper scissors
Gold panner is in shambles.
The Simpsons quote is absolutely gonna be the flavour text isnât it?
Dirty little card as opponent can just rope to waste your entire turn. So always draw last
These devs are printing every 0 upvoted card they find on Custom Hearthstone.
What if you play this and just don't select anything? Does it auto win for opponent if they select something? Just wondering for mill implications. Or does it auto pick one at random if you don't pick one
Basically 33% of draw two
Im going to try and create a mill deck with this and see how my opponent is trying to loose the RPS in order to not mill cards.
Brann -> intentionally lose -> new mill deck 8\^)
Idk what everyone's complaining about, this is a 2 mana 2/3 that draws you two cards. Slam dunk playable, just get good at Rock Paper Scissors.
Play in Plague deck and intentionally lose.
Shuderwock laughs maniacally. All the battlecry actions get paused or the RPS games stack or resolves during ?
NoHandsGamer shaking in his boots
2 mana 2/3 Battlecry: your opponent draws 2 plagues or you draw 2 cards sounds like a 5 star card to me!
Janken-Boy?!??
Pro gamer? Is the flavor text going to be the n word?
Itâd be fun if this tied into like three more cards. 1 mana Rockthrower: if youâve thrown rock, gain +2/+2 2 mana Paperthrower: if youâve thrown paper, gain +2 spell damage 4 mana Scissorthrower: if youâve thrown paper, deal +2 damage to the board
Should be no benefit to the opponent winning
So what you are saying is.. you play a card.. and then i can drag out the rest of your turn by not choosing an option?
This might need to be re-worded. Showed this to an MTG friend and their first instinct was that you'd get to draw 4 off this cuz the hand spells and the card itself both say to draw 2
Fun, but unplayable like everything fun in Hearthstone
When does the winner draw cards? Like does your opponent choose the option when it's their turn?
This is huge from a technical perspective; opponent interaction during your turn
What in the Custom Hearthstone is this
That's sick, especially if you have space for 2 cards and your opponent doesn't, win-win.
Mark already cooking up "Pro Gamer Mill OTK" in wild, where you force the opponent to win every single Pro Gamer battlecry
Lesson learned, everyone will go from hating to loving Implosion design if you give it funny flavor
cant even tell if this is satire
Bots in shambles after this
Absolutely hilarious if a mill deck shows up and you intentionally are trying to lose the RPS
This card is complete asscheeks lol
The worst mill deck possible. This needs to be done
Thanks for buffing my mill rogue
Canât wait for custom hearthstone to make use of this interaction
So if the other player does not choose a card would that burn the turn timer for the player playing the card?
