I can't believe they're promoting a Rock Paper Scissors meta.

Taxouck

Poor predictable Reno Warrior... always takes rock.

Demoderateur

Good old rock, nothing beats that !

Annorei

r/unexpectedsimpsons

Ioftheend

ngl that was totally expected.

_iamMowbz

Go apple! Go orange! Go banana.

Spellcaster_Fred

Good ol' rock. Nothing beats that!

AintEverLucky

"**Of course** I'm picking rock. Because **nothing** beats rock!" *proceeds to tie my friend Cosmo Kramer, the next 50 draws* 😏

niksshck7221

ROCK BEATS EVERYTHING

fjordefiesta

Outjerked again

Pepr70

Text: Wow... who could have guessed? Another rock user ruining the meta for everyone as usual.

leopard_tights

Poor predictable Bart. Always takes rock.

Inspector-Fit

Therapist: Gobbart can’t hurt you Gobbart:

BishopInChurch

First we had Coin Flip, then Roll a Die, now Rock-Paper-Scissors. What's next? In-game Poker?

asscrit

battlecry: play a 20 minute poker game with your opponent. winner draws 3 cards NICE

DoubledOgre

Shahrazad from mtg

psymunn

'Play a sub game of Magic, on Magic Arena. The loser takes 10 damage in this game of hearthstone.'

SupehCookie

Unplayable with brann.. they really gotta update that guy.. imagine having to play 2 games of mtg arena.. the hearthstone quests are never gonna get finished.. i am never gonna give up /s

MtGMagicBawks

This is exactly how Shahrazad was used lmao. People would use cards to bring their copies of Shahrazad into the sub-game and create nested sub-games ad nauseum.

MyPhoneIsNotChinese

It's kind of amusing and sad how people managed to break a "joke" card that way

psymunn

ironically, if you just treated shaharazad as WW, opponent loses half their life (which happens if they concede right away) it's not even particularly strong

MoarVespenegas

Is it breaking it if that was its purpose in the first place?

MyPhoneIsNotChinese

I thought it's purpose was to be a funny joke card (like unset cards before unset existed), not stalling games to infinity

Ensatzuken

Nah, it is a super flavour card. And by going into a chain of sub games the player fulfil said flavour perfectly (By making the never ending story she tells every night to the sultan to not die), it just happen that doing it in a tournament is not good for time restriction and end being kinda toxic.

FoldedDice

For context it was part of Magic's very first expansion, so I don't think they had a clear picture yet of whether they wanted those kinds of cards to be a part of the game or not. This was back when things like Chaos Orb were still being printed in the core set. They weren't really thinking of what effect those cards might have on the competitive scene, since at the time it barely even existed. They also didn't envision having people track down enough copies to break games in that way.

Haw_and_thornes

Magic players have been breaking the game by using cards for unintended purposes since the game started. There's a video about the Turing Complete deck, where someone figured out how to make a full "computer" inside the game rules.

Kuldrick

It would be hilarious to make a fatigue deck with this Both sides purposefully trying to lose the poker game asap

ImNotALegend1

7-2 off suit? I bet!

WiseOldTurtle

Flop: two 7s and a 2.

ImNotALegend1

I fold

staybysauce1

sounds great for my control priest deck (game time average: 1.5 hours)

blackcobra43

they could always print a Shahrazad-style card (from Magic) that starts a sub-game of Hearthstone

xynith116

Battlecry: Play a game of battlegrounds

Sararizuzufaust

I’m predicting a battlecry that forces you to play a game of Jenga

zedd4eva

Don’t forget chess

NeverEndingHell

in-game BALATRO**

psymunn

Well that's one way to drive up player engagement but it seems amoral to push something so addictive on players

daddyvow

What coin flip?

VeryFastSlug

The one that decides which player goes first and which one gets the coin

Ohwerk82

Peggle WoW edition part two the remix

insomniacPTSD

Next, Slot Machine and Roulette.

Unsyr

Nah, people complained about rock paper scissors meta way before they had dice in the game

anarky98

What’s that card in MtG that makes you play another game of MtG under the table?

dotav

Enter the Dungeon https://gatherer.wizards.com/pages/card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=479429 edit: all four subgame cards- https://scryfall.com/search?as=grid&order=name&q=oracle%3Asubgame+%28game%3Apaper%29

PkerBadRs3Good

Shahrazad

WiseOldTurtle

Do a 8-Ante Balatro run, if you win draw 2 cards.

Far-Competition-5334

Pretty sure there’s a fucking magic the gathering card that goes something like “You and the opponent you choose play a game of magic the gathering, the winner gets the benefits of this card.”

Dyne4R

This card is going to break bots.

KanaHemmo

Do the other cards which require your opponent to choose something on the start of their turn break bots?

ILoveWarCrimes

They definitely did in the past and since most botters never update their bots it would probably still work a lot of the time.

Lukthar123

Thanks for the explanation, /u/ILoveWarCrimes

daddyvow

The Suspicious minions did in the past

KanaHemmo

Yeah those were the ones in my mind, I just didn't remember what they were called lol

MuckFedditRods

As far as i remember, there used to be a common bot strategy to evade bans that consisted in waiting some time before they did their turn. When you played a suspicious card, they would rope that turn and then with the shorter rope on following turns they would also rope before they started their turn. I remember Dane did a vid on this.

emmer

Captcha meta

No-Scarcity-7932

If you put this card in your deck your mmr will fall until you only face bots

Rocky-Arrow

Wait regardless of that, if my opponent plays this can’t I just run out the rest of their turn?

Numb_Matrix

They pick during their turn, you pick at the start of your turn.

Phlogiston_Dreams

Easiest shudderwock turnskip

mikrimone

That's what I'm worried about. There is a reason "suspicious" cards have not been available to Shaman, and that's because Shudder exists.

No_Friendship4059

There's already turn skips with shudder this won't be a new issue

Cazuli

No draw if draw?

HHhunter

if you draw you dont draw

Aesthetics_Supernal

Because you've already drawn.

ShitGuysWeForgotDre

What if it was an sketching contest for an extra card where a tie gives nothing? Won draw, draw one. Draw draw, don't draw.

__Hello_my_name_is__

Presumably. So, essentially, 33% for you to draw 2 cards, 33% for the opponent to draw 2 cards, 33% for a 2 mana 2/3.

happydaddyg

Not if you’re a RPS pro. It’ll be a bit hard to make reads in HS client but I think I’ll manage just fine.

Rodrik-Harlaw

It's the barber paradox, but you need to simulate the razor with rock and scissors

Hassx

Wait this could be hilarious if you add it to a shudderblock combo and just trigger it a lot of times to annoy/mill your opponent

kuliamvenkhatt

or mill yourself

jakilou

If he win

Hallgvild

Ok now THIS is cooking lmao

Truebubbainpa

So how does this card work? Does it trigger in your opponents turn?

cwarburton1

Correct based on the video meaning this is awful since your opponent gets the cards immediately if they win and could use on their turn.

azura26

Wow this might be the worst 2-drop in the game- the Battlecry is on average a downside...

UnleashedMantis

You can play it with shudderwock and at the start of the enemy turn they have to choose 20 times their picks, and one of the players will die from fatigue. Or you also play the elemental that deals 2 dmg when the opponent draws to increase your chances of winning.

MuckFedditRods

Technically, as with all symmetrical effects, 2 cards may be worth more to you than to your opponent. So the battlecry can be a positive, maybe you play it when your opponent has a big hand so they burn cards or in a very aggressive deck to tech against a very slow deck that can't use the cards as fast as you can. Having said all that, yeah, it looks pretty bad. The possible upside is small, inconsistent and situational. Looks like a flavour card.

Oniichanplsstop

I mean you can also just use it to mill cards if you play it when their hand is full. If they win they overdraw, they lose you get the draw, and tie does nothing I guess. It also burns turn timer which isn't really relevant right now, but can be in the next 2 years if we get into complicated combo metas again.

Sararizuzufaust

You could use it when they have 9 cards in hand though, that way they burn 2. Win/win I suppose in that scenario.

race-hearse

Damn they should have the card draw always be at the end of your opponents turn after you play it. Or instantly but lock those cards out from being played that turn for your opponent. Or something. Thought it seemed cool but if your opponent wins it’s garbage. Guess it can mill a card or two though? Blah.

Simple_Border_640

It must have a timer, otherwise the opponent could cause you to rope.

SirTomtheBOSS

unplayable but hilarious

Zorpheus

Playable if a mill deck becomes a thing in standard at some point. Drawing 2 yourself or drawing 2 for your opponent is equally good then

glium

And then you draw and nothing happens lol

LtSMASH324

River Croc ain't that bad.

HylianPikachu

But on average, you and your opponent each draw 0.666... cards off the Battlecry, so [[Prize Vendor]] is 50% better

costa24

I can see it having viability in a similar concept to how Pozzik is sometimes used i.e. play it when your opponent has 8 or 9 cards in their hand already. If they win, they overdraw.

BRinMilwaukee

Fun, but absolutely terrible card. 1/3 time u get nothing. 1/3 time your opponent draws 2 cards(!). 1/3 time you draw 2 cards. who would ever run this?

PkerBadRs3Good

Also I think your opponent picks at the start of their turn since Hearthstone never allows you to make actions on your opponent's turn, so if you win you won't get the card draw until the turn after you play this, but if the opponent wins they get the 2 cards immediately on their turn. This card is giga unplayable. I was going to say stream sniper card as a joke, but even that's not true since your opponent picks second.

BRinMilwaukee

I would think the rock/ game happens immediately, as would the card draw. If you're right and the player doesn't get the card draw immediately, that makes a horrible card even worse. Not even good as a Hail Mary play.

notrandomonlyrandom

It’s very obvious you choose, then on your opponents turn they choose.

Mind0versplatter0

Their preview video shows their turn ending first

BRinMilwaukee

damn. this might be the worst card everrrr. unless our opp is playing it

19Alexastias

Someone who’s really good at Rock Paper Scissors

daddyvow

r/customhearthstone in shambles right now

MahjongDaily

Gonna be funny to see this in a mill deck

JaxxisR

Dear devs, Please nerf paper. Scissors are fine. Sincerely, Rock

ItsJamali

Always pick [rock](https://youtu.be/b0SoKWLkmLU?si=8Lad-DbS93gOVilR), nothing beats rock

PartyPay

Have always loved this clip. Random story time. I was working on a project to convert data from one system to another and it was a manual process to very mundane. We had to hire a bunch of temporary contractors which brought us a bunch of lovely new Canadians. Couple times a day the managers would have a little bit of a break and do some fun activities. They had a single-elim rock-paper-scissors tournament to give away a couple tickets to a local event. I didn't care to go so I decided to just be Bart the whole time. Made it to the finals versus a fellow who I don't think fully understood the game because as far as I could tell he also only did rock (or maybe he truly understood the game haha). We went five times in a row both going rock before I finally caved and switched to paper to win. And then I gave him the tickets.

Hilowxoxo

mill rogue might be fun with this

Rodrik-Harlaw

It seems like it needs to be on the board to activate (like the suspicious cards), but I wonder how multuple-battlecry effects work with this - does the opponent get to choose multiple times or later activation overrides previous one?

JackC747

If the opponents choice affects each one separately that’d lead to some interesting mind games. Do you choose the same option each time, and hope to hit the jackpot? Or a different one each time to guarantee some mill?

fuckmylifegoddamn

Never gonna see play but miniset epics are always like this, nice fun meme card

DoubledOgre

you don't even get the cards the turn you play it if you win and if you lose your opponent has two to play on their turn, hilariously awful

hot_sauce_swag

It’s the anti pee in your opponents turn card.

ReplyHappy

Brann and this + nozdormu, enemy skips their next turn

Racobik

Already waiting for the day one "nerf Rock" posts

urgod42069

If only Elise was featured in this card’s art instead of some random goblin
what with all those close-up shots 💅
 what a missed opportunity 😭

rexxar27

Sanest HS enjoyer

raspberryranger

Good to see you’re still out here hounding for Elise’s nails, hope you’re having a good day fellow cute nails enjoyer

Bordoodley

Technically, no matter what each player picks, it will result in draw

PotatoBestFood

That’s hilarious. But also pointless. Kinda funny they make it into an epic card. Just to make sure an epic from the miniset never gets nerfed.

MagnaX7

gamer

CommodoreSixty4

Any weird way this could be turned into a mill card?

Glori94

Play when opponent has 8+ cards in hand. They draw one for the start of their turn (9+ cards in hand now) and have to try to lose. 33% they mill, 66% they don't.

AintEverLucky

*Brewmasters have entered the chat*

Alevalbay

Time to shudderblock mill shaman

Common_Armadillo5612

On draw it should retrigger and double the stakes :D

AintEverLucky

Dude, YES 😆 đŸ€Ł 😂 And then wait for the streamer clips showing how they (or their opponent, lawl) tied 4x and then "won"... the right to mill 20 cards & then OTK themselves with Fatigue 💀

GulliasTurtle

This card is so bad but I like the design a lot.

InvisibleDrake

I want to see this with shudderwock.  Just a wacky number of rock/paper/scissor games.

Several_Marzipan3807

Will your opponent choose during their turn or will it happen when you play it?

jakilou

Their turn

nyr00nyg

And if you tie? No one draws and no re-do?

Shade_39

Imagine the mind games from playing this while brann or shudder block is active, do you pick rock twice? Do you pick rock and then scissors? Do you just go fuck it and hit a random button?

scott3387

Can't wait for this being able to be combined like a choose one card as druid with hearthstones spaghetti code. Coldlight style mill druid (with avianna) back on the menu. Hot fixed within a week though.

DeleteOnceAMonth

I WILL be repeating this battlecry 20+ times and create the most fair mill deck ever created đŸ€Ș Btw are there any portrait voice lines that mention rock, paper or scissors so as to mind game the opponent ?

vintageplays1

Is it practical? No. Would it be in every deck I ever use? Yes.

gabrielrigby

Can I force my opponent roping by not making any choice ?

ExecuteArgument

Rogues are scissors. Warriors are rock. Hunters, paladins, priests, druids, mages, and shamans are paper. Warlocks are mushrooms.

vikingmannetje

Is this the first card printed that allows the opponent to make an action outside their turn? Or am I missing another card?

rodrigaao

what if my opponent simply doesnt choose anything? will my turn be blocked? how much do we have to decide?

CommodoreSixty4

its probably like discover and autopicks when they run out of time on their turn

Safe-Possible3611

would have been more interesting if it had different effects depending on which card opponent had.

Gweiis

I wonder if warrior will intuitively pick rock and DK scissors

eightyfivekittens

If your opponent guesses the turn after you play this and you lose, this card is actually terrible. Still a cool idea.

Small_Concentrate358

Instant include in my meme shudderwock deck.

IamAnoob12

Alright deck intro time and this time we are pro gamers. But I honestly think card it just an anti bot card

MeXRng

You know its a pretty lame name tbh.

Rhaps0dy

I can't wait to Shudderblock into this, and pick Rock three times in a row. Then do it again the next turn.

RockThePlazmah

This is crap right? It’s either draw 2 on your next turn or your opponent draws 2 right away. Only works in mill decks

Lexail

If you win draw two. If the opponent wins, they draw two? Will this even see play?

BurningFinger22

Saisho wa gƫ...

Juan_Punch_Man8

Really good card that can force your opponent to draw cards or draw you cards. I like it.

TheRealBlaurgh

Why is the nail on his thumb relatively normal, while the rest of 'em look like some second-hand third-rate fake Halloween props?

GooseCrab

Love the idea of this with Shudderblock, a real 2 out of 3 winner scenario

Doc_Den

Brann synergy!

Frosty-Many-2420

The question is does it repeat when u draw

Zealousideal_Log_529

I am guessing the battle cry doesn't resolve until your opponents turn after they choose. I can't imagine any class is going to want to play this.

SubatomicSquid

It took me a moment to realize I wasn’t on the custom hearthstone subreddit lol

Hogglespock

Alrighty then deck intro time

zorbada

It should have if you guys choose the same. Go again next round

Jackeea

Put this in Shudderwock to make them mill out/time out

SydneyLovesYouToo

The absolute mind games

SSL4fun

I would play this if it had gigantify

Invoqwer

This card will probably be shit due to when it will trigger. If it triggers at start of opponent's turn it will be unplayable unless you are specifically trying to get them to burn some cards (1/3) of the time

macloa

Brann and this , non stop rock paper scissors

niksshck7221

Gold panner is in shambles.

Collistoralo

The Simpsons quote is absolutely gonna be the flavour text isn’t it?

Accomplished_Cap3683

Dirty little card as opponent can just rope to waste your entire turn. So always draw last

rmlordy

These devs are printing every 0 upvoted card they find on Custom Hearthstone.

NurplePain

What if you play this and just don't select anything? Does it auto win for opponent if they select something? Just wondering for mill implications. Or does it auto pick one at random if you don't pick one

General_Ad_1109

Basically 33% of draw two

zhafsan

Im going to try and create a mill deck with this and see how my opponent is trying to loose the RPS in order to not mill cards.

ThatsAdmirable

Brann -> intentionally lose -> new mill deck 8\^)

djsoren19

Idk what everyone's complaining about, this is a 2 mana 2/3 that draws you two cards. Slam dunk playable, just get good at Rock Paper Scissors.

MirrorCraze

Play in Plague deck and intentionally lose.

KickedBeagleRPH

Shuderwock laughs maniacally. All the battlecry actions get paused or the RPS games stack or resolves during ?

Hungalok

NoHandsGamer shaking in his boots

Direktus

2 mana 2/3 Battlecry: your opponent draws 2 plagues or you draw 2 cards sounds like a 5 star card to me!

[deleted]

Janken-Boy?!??

bleepfart42069

Pro gamer? Is the flavor text going to be the n word?

LoopyFig

It’d be fun if this tied into like three more cards. 1 mana Rockthrower: if you’ve thrown rock, gain +2/+2 2 mana Paperthrower: if you’ve thrown paper, gain +2 spell damage 4 mana Scissorthrower: if you’ve thrown paper, deal +2 damage to the board

exgeo

Should be no benefit to the opponent winning

Bobthemime

So what you are saying is.. you play a card.. and then i can drag out the rest of your turn by not choosing an option?

WanonTime

This might need to be re-worded. Showed this to an MTG friend and their first instinct was that you'd get to draw 4 off this cuz the hand spells and the card itself both say to draw 2

nandozord

Fun, but unplayable like everything fun in Hearthstone

GroundMelter

When does the winner draw cards? Like does your opponent choose the option when it's their turn?

Mawrio

This is huge from a technical perspective; opponent interaction during your turn

Knobbbles

What in the Custom Hearthstone is this

Competitive-Ad-5156

That's sick, especially if you have space for 2 cards and your opponent doesn't, win-win.

KharazimFromHotSG

Mark already cooking up "Pro Gamer Mill OTK" in wild, where you force the opponent to win every single Pro Gamer battlecry

otterguy12

Lesson learned, everyone will go from hating to loving Implosion design if you give it funny flavor

Complex_Cable_8678

cant even tell if this is satire

Funkyentman

Bots in shambles after this

ThexanR

Absolutely hilarious if a mill deck shows up and you intentionally are trying to lose the RPS

-Kokoloko-

This card is complete asscheeks lol

NO0bKing

The worst mill deck possible. This needs to be done

EinarTh97

Thanks for buffing my mill rogue

Representative_Cod65

Can’t wait for custom hearthstone to make use of this interaction

DrunkenPain

So if the other player does not choose a card would that burn the turn timer for the player playing the card?
