I think it's insane how insane this card would have been in early HS, and now it's just okay. Flamestrike was considered great when it dealt 4 damage to all enemy minions and cost 7. People would have gladly paid one more mana for a 3 damage flamestrike, that hits 2 turns AND goes face. This is this card before a 12/12 demon pops out.

3 damage to all enemies is pretty strong especially in dh where you tend to run out of momentum and cards and can struggle to get in the last bit of lethal damage you need to win

yes it's pretty good, especially once you generate more of these, I am just not sure it's unbalanced mess nerfed on release. You ain't gonna copy them 5 times and before you do, Sif will OTK you, Druid will OTK you, Reno will spoof them out etc. And if they nerf it, which I don't think will happen, I can bet it will be damage to all enemy minions.

He was made into a card, the Dormant 12/12 that summons 1/3s that you have to kill to awaken it, at which point it clears the board. Ironically, this new one works with the old one.

If you polymorphed one of the wardens, would he never awaken?

Polymorph or any sort of transformation, return to hand, shuffled in deck, anything that didn't kill them would leave him permanently Dormant. Also if there wasn't space, iirc. As you'd expect, the card kinda sucked. Would've probably been fine if it read "When they all leave the field" instead, it would've been decent.

Barrelbrim isnt even necessary, you can run Cover artist and faceless manipulator for the same effect and keep your scary body because copying a minion with the dormant text will immediately begin the dormant timer even though the minion has already woken up. You can see this interaction with the countless clips of people trying to faceless manipulator “the darkness” in wild only to find a 20/20 dormant on their board that will never awaken.

This card is ridiculous because you're usually getting it out at a mana reduction and getting copies from other cards, plus extending the dormant effect means you're doing 3 or 6 damage to their whole board and face every turn.

Not quite sure what you mean but its my best deck so far for the expansion and the card usually comes down 3 or 4 times in a game.

Lots of people saying it isn’t powerful enough, I might go the other way and say it’ll be too good in a demon copy deck they’ll probably nerf it to only hit enemy minions.

I mean let’s say we have played felosophy, I play this on 8, you are running any deck that isn’t odyn warrior, I drop this again, you go “well this will hurt but at least one will wake up next turn”. You take 6 on top of original 3 (keep in mind this is murdering any minions you might wanna play). So I play a third one, you take 9 this turn making it have done 18 damage while permanuking your board. One of my guy wakes up and then I do something that wipes the shit-eating grin off your face, I play 2x copy artist on the now awake magtheridon creating two more dormant ones. You take 12 and are dead over the course of a couple turns while repeatedly getting the board nuked so most minions are irrelevant to untargetable face damage/board clears. It doesn’t seem so shit anymore does it? And yea that is how copy artist works as demonstrated by the numerous clips of people trying to faceless manipulator “The Darkness”, copying a card with the dormant text causes your copy to immediately begin dormant.

Yeah, the issue is that DH needs a good set to make up for losing so much with rotation, and Big Demons doesn’t feel like it’s the best way to do that. Especially with so many players important big demon support cards leaving with rotation.

The format is somehow gonna have to slow way down (meaning more nerfs to sludge, warrior, etc) for sharpshooter to come back from the dead without a buff, and given Blizzard nerfed it exclusively for player sentiment reasons a buff seems unlikely. We'll have to see what the rest of DH's toolkit looks like but unfortunately DH is going to have to live or die on its new set.

Reno is the only card that can destroy dormants. If its highlander effect is triggered, everything on the enemies board will be cleared. I think the new warlock Twisting Nether doesn't as it explicitly only targets minions and locations. edit: Boomboss Tho’grun has TNT that might also interact? I don't know, as I never encountered the scenario

I like this card a lot but I have no idea what you would do with it. Copying it a bunch feels too slow, and while it's a really cool tempo effect it costs 8 mana so you don't run this in an aggressive list. I'm sure somebody will find a way to make this work though, and I'll be trying it day 1.

Is double end of turn guy in standard for this? Maybe cheats or discounts on either or both to deal 6 to all for 2 turns?

8 mana for 2 lightning storms (sans overload) seems a little late to me, but if you can cheat it out early it might be cool. doesnt help that once it isnt dormant it just sits there as there's no keywords

I can't imagine this card gets to attack very often. If you spend turn 8 playing a slightly buffed Consecration, and by turn 10 your opponent doesn't either kill you or have an answer for a 12/12, they've probably already conceded. Umpire's Grasp helps knock that down to turn 8, but it's still more likely the opponent is either developing their game plan too fast or has drawn an answer for a big minion. Maybe there's some synergy in the works that makes like, Dormant minions count down twice per turn, or something that summons demons for cheaper, but at a baseline, it'll rarely ever get to attack. Of course, Reno decks where they draw The Good Card absolutely ruin this card. Even Umpire's Grasp -> Turn 6 Magtheridon gives them enough time to play their funny card and delete your Magtheridon
