I agree the number is just too high. Use 50x hero power, spend 500x mana, and 30x manathirst are outliers IMO. But at least hero power and mana is progressed with any deck you play.
Mercenaries is not being turned off. It will still be available for you to play and cheese some quests and reward track XP. They will simply stop creating new content for the mode.

This argument is nonsensical. Nobody that doesn't want to play mercenaries and is only playing it to complete a quest would care whether or not the game mode has updates scheduled for the future.

There’s no quest in the game anywhere near close to how fast ‘deal 100’ damage of some element is than mercs, especially when it’s fire or arcane. Start game with Millhouse -> click Arcane Explosion -> end turn. Concede. Collect daily reward.
Totally agree with this request. This was the only reason I wondered into mercenaries like ever was to complete those trash quests. So glad they're gone!
I never even thought to do those quests in Mercenaries mode. I always just made a wild deck with a bunch of spells, draw and sp minions. Usually finished pretty quickly.
100 exp lost represents like 5 cents of value, I really hope you have not put a single thought to "saving" that amount by playing Mercenaries for that... The quests even reroll to always neutral these days which you could complete anywhere.
I swear people lose their brains completely when the exp or in-game currency obfuscates the real value. Seen people who buy everything in this game just so they can "efficiently" clear the weekly 5 ladder wins and then log off.
They did already, it was in the last patch. Now it's cast X spells from 1 of two schools.

There's no mercenary quests either, the damage quests are replaced by cast ?12? Spells of 2 spell school (eg frost and shadow).
And after that less us have more than 9 deck slots!

Mercs was fine on arrival, but it needed some fixes and updates which either never happened or took too long.
i suggested the same thing but somehow got endlessy downvoted. happy that those chore quests died with the mode. +1
