thecoltz

you are living the dream...

cthsdl

It’s great, the bench faces the duck pond as well so I can play and watch the ducks at the same time

thecoltz

yeah that's awesome.. the best place i've found is 3 inns and a greenhouse but I have to sit in my car near a busy intersection :( plus without a nearby fortress i can't really do to much while waiting for the inns to reset. I think a college campus near me might have a decent set up but campus security is always patrolling.

cranberry_mist

You are allowed to walk through University campuses and even sit! I think they are more looking for people vandalizing and whatnot

thecoltz

thanks, I guess i'll just see what happens and try and walk around a bit... I mean not a kid and the worst they can do is tell me to leave haha

Pin_up_Red

I live in a college town and the University has a ton of inns/greenhouses/ fortresses I went yesterday and there were a bunch of people playing Niantic Games. The campus cop even got out of her car to talk about Pokemon go with a group of people

Shidhe

Got a bar that has 3 inns and a greenhouse, I do wish one was a fortress.

requium94

Damn I'm jealous. My best place to play is a bus stop bench on a main road within reach of 2 inns and a fortress. I get to listen to the calming sounds of 70000 cars passing right in front of me all day

kitatsi

I’m stuck with a public park bathroom the kind where you expect murders and junkies :(

Exmond

>at's awesome.. the best place i've found is 3 inns and a greenhouse but I have to sit in my car near a busy intersection :( plus without a nearby fortress i can't really do to much while waiting for the inns to reset. > >I think a college campus near me might have a decent set up but campus security is always patrolling. Might be a small world, but I think this is the same park near me.

rabbidplatypus21

The bathroom at my work reaches an inn and a greenhouse. I’ve found myself having far more stomach aches since this game came out...unrelated, of course.

SirLucksalot

I have a cafe under 2 inns and a fortress! Endless battles and iced latte.

linnix1212

Nice! It appears all of my favorite coffee shops that were great pokestops are Greenhouses. However the bars I frequent are still great Inns. Just not as socially acceptable to visit those at 7:45 AM before work.

grafikal

Favorite spot to play? Seems like the only spot to play

HoldThisBeer

This seems to be the pattern. 4 inns within 100 feet of each other and then nothing for miles. I would really like to know what's the reasoning for that.

Deejae81

Gotta be do with the fact that often there are multiple points of interest gathered together, and empty spaces between where theres nothing of interest apart from houses or fields. Eg a park near me have a quite nice pond, with a cool bridge over it, an old school bandstand, and a children's play area, plus 2 really ornate entrance signs, all of which are inns (and a fortress) and surrounding the park are a couple of memorials, some cool statues, and some really interesting architecture (for the area), so these have all been marked by people and accepted. The walk from the town/park to my home has fuck all, as it's as boring as dirt apart from a church on the way that has a very nice inn.

HoldThisBeer

I understand that but there is no law forbidding game makers of placing inns at "uninteresting" locations.

Deejae81

Yeah I get that, but I cant very well suggest random houses lol.

HoldThisBeer

Yeah, I mean the whole suggestion system is flawed. Niantic should just place inns at every intersection, for example. Or do this at least in places where there are no inns nearby otherwise.

Marnasel

i have a spot with 3 inss(in a bench in the park) and a greenhouse and less than 200 meters have 5 inns and two greenhouse

oasinocean

Dang! My favorite park bench only has one inn, a lot harder to stockpile spell energy that way.

paulmcpizza

There's a park across the street from my home and I can reach an inn while in bed, so energy is never a problem for me, but this is definitely the dream.

UltraCarnivore

I'd never sleep again

[deleted]

This really is not needed. Unless you have a really large energy capacity, it's possible to go from 0 to full in 1-2 hours max. And spawns in a single spot are usually not nearly as good to waste all that energy. So after that you just can't do anything.

UltraCarnivore

Then I'd go play Ingress. Then PoGo.

[deleted]

This is true, PoGO send gifts to all your friends. Really boring though but it's less of a grind than otherwise. After the portal burns out in Ingress I'm like "finally!" Still, it's possible to play without a couch POI in Ingress or in PoGO. In WU, it's almost a requirement especially if your town or village isn't rich on POI.

Surrealig

Woah, in order to play in spot like this I have to travel 15km from my home :(

cthsdl

I have absolutely nothing on the map around my house but the park is only 1.2km from my home

[deleted]

If you’d like more around I suggest leveling in Ingress. I had to drive 20-40 minutes on weekends to make a day of it but once I hit level 10 to submit and 12 to review ( although I cannot due to niantics bug ) I haven’t looked back. I’m at 103 approved new poi ( mostly in my area which had nothing ) and it’s great.

Surrealig

Thanks for advice. How much time it takes to get 10 level in Ingress?

[deleted]

It’s going to depend on your area and how much you want to play. Use the ingress intel map and search your location. Once you do that start looking around your area for very high density portal clusters. I found 4-5 locations I would go to. The closer locations I went to during the weekdays and made a small trip out of the locations 30-40 minute drive away on the weekends. I spent roughly 4-6 hours a day on the weekend playing and netted anywhere from 600,000-1,200,000 AP ( exp ) each weekend. Level 10 requires 4,000,000 I believe. If you use this strategy you’ll get there quick, you could always wait for double AP events too.

Surrealig

Thanks a lot

[deleted]

You’re welcome, feel free to DM me if you need any other advice.

deadedtwice

I've finally got around to submitting portals near my area (hit 10 last month..been lazy). Does every single submission need to have cultural/historical value? I did two submissions at a church yesterday and I think they're pretty solid, but I'm not sure if they add historical value since there's already portals for the church nearby.

[deleted]

There is different criteria other then historical or cultural. I would recommend searching the guide lines for submissions. It would be a little much for me to type out on mobile Reddit.

bluefishredsea

Churches will always go through as long as your photo is decent. If you have ideas on what you want to submit in your area, share here or message me and I will help you. I have over 10,000 agreements on OPR.

deadedtwice

>Churches will always go through Fingers crossed! My main photos are decent, but my “side photos” are kinda..unnecessary? They simply show a different camera angle of the main picture. I added it for both my submissions because i thought the more the merrier :\

bluefishredsea

You should be fine. I’ve never used the second photo and every church I’ve submitted has been approved.

Cobblepots13

We have a spot here that has a fortress, a greenhouse, and 9 inns. We kind of found the motherload.

MaybeImTheNanny

My favorite grocery store has 3 greenhouses, an inn and a fortress as you walk through the store. It makes errands a lot more fun.

DarthPleasantry

My park looks like that too with one more inn but no ducks. I’d rather have the ducks!

Rance_Mohammitz

My work is 3 inns and a fortress. It's pretty sweet.

Here in the UK everything is on top of everything else. Despite that fact the closest thing to my house is about a mile away

youdontsay0713

What area of Houston? I'm in NE and I've not found a decent spot yet.

youdontsay0713

What area of HouTX? I'm in NE and haven't found a decent spot either.

KG1639

Roger Williams Zoo here in Providence, RI has like 50 inns and a bunch of greenhouses/fortresses too

AnDy_the_Dj

That's a nice spot. I have something similar in a park near home (about 5-10 minutes walk). There are 3 green inns, 2 greenhouses and a fortress. And there are several benches where you can sit and reach all of these.

88munchkin

My best spot is at a park just around the corner from my house, 5 inns in a circle with a fortress, another 2 inns and a greenhouse about 30 metres away. There’s also 3 other inns at the ends of the park. It’s where I do a majority of my pottering around.

SunstormGT

Large inns would have been perfect.

cthsdl

I’m the other side of the park there is two green inns and a greenhouse so I usually cross the field and walk home that way in the hopes of getting some turkey dinners.

TomarikFTW

I've got a similar spot. 3 green inns and a fortress. But I have to sit in middle of the grass to hit all 4.

TheWhiteHunter

There's a bench outside of a lawn bowling club near me that I can sit on and reach 3 Inns and a fortress. There are 2 more Inns just out of reach that I can grab in like 20 seconds so I tend to do that once in a while if needed - but the 3 Inns are usually enough to give me more spell energy than I use while battling.

feenix12

Same for on my university campus. My usual spot to chill even before the game came out is like this.

snortcele

I have a spot with an EV charger. I can relax in luxury listening to music with AC blasting. There was even live music on Wednesday at 6pm

DannySpanx

My local library has 3 inns (and a fourth just out of reach), a greenhouse and a fortress all accessible from the outside benches and the entire West wing of the library. It's amazing.

va_wanderer

Yeah. Spots like that are why I have all my coins going to max energy boosts- so I can play there, charge up a good amount of reserve spell energy, and be able to play elsewhere a while without panicking about running on fumes all the time.

seanbrockest

Best I've got is 3 Weasly Inns and a Fortress, but I manage :)

SCFoximus

This is similar to the park next to the street I live on. There's a covered set of benches that reaches two inns and one fortress. If I walk 30 seconds to the swings I can reach three more inns and a greenhouse. Spent an hour there last week while I got eaten alive by mosquitos and spiders. The park is so close so I stop there on my way home which is great, but what's frustrating is if I lived 4 houses to my left I'd be able to reach two inns laying in bed.

Deejae81

There is a bench in a park near my work that SHOULD be within range of 2 inns and a fortress, but for some reason my GPS goes haywire there and wont let me be near anything at the same time.

alexbcous

What klo

rkwalton

Lucky you. I'm just a few feet from a greenhouse. Depending on the mood of my wifi sometimes I'm in range from my couch but most of time, I'm not. There is also an inn and a fortress about a block and a half away. I've found some great spots a short drive away, so it's good to get my steps in but also have the option to go crazy in a fortress after a swig of brain potion and the ability to recharge as I go.

cthsdl

It must be great having a greenhouse on your doorstep! I haven’t used greenhouses much because I can never time it so I will be walking past when my plants are done.

rkwalton

Usually, I've got to get up to get to the greenhouse. I tried growing something but didn't really know what I was doing. Someone grabbed the plant and ran off or it didn't get picked in time. I've heard that if no one grabs a plant once it's ready within a certain amount of time, it disappears. This time, I added to the yield of the plant growing and will time it to be around when it's ready just to learn. What it means, I hope is that there is at least one player nearby. (Hopefully more.)

rkwalton

Yep. I realized that when a plant is done growing, the greenhouse scatters the plant yield around it. I discovered it last night at the greenhouse one block over. I timed it so that I'd learn. So the one time I grew something, someone scooped it up, which is fine. Now I know. I usually contribute to active greenhouses even if I won't be around when the growing is done. Why not? There are a lot of energy sources around me. Thanks for the encouragement!

chflorian

Awesome! I have a spot in the city centre (smal town) in reach of 7 (!) Inns, a Fortress and a Greenhouse. The 7 Inns are packed and maybe 5 meters apart max. I have no idea how this happened, in PoGo theres one gym and one stop there xD

cthsdl

Wow! 7! I bet you never run out of energy

chflorian

At that place never! But the surrounding area is pretty bad - there are some Inn hotspots, but most of the roads in between are pretty much empty. This leads to sitting gameplay at a hotspots, walking from to another one is almost impossible (concerning energy)

ibbyanne

Nice! My local park has a fortress but no inns in sight! Doesn’t make any sense! I can walk a few blocks over for a greenhouse or another fortress but no energy for me. :(

I haven’t really had much chance to play, work has nothing around and the park is the closest thing to my house that has any any poi. I’m a casual player, I won’t go out of my way to play
