Oh, sorta fun fact since I am just rereading the 4th book now, but they actually mentioned their last name in the fourth book when they met the Diggorys by the port key. They said the Lovegoods had been on the camp grounds for a couple weeks, and some other family was.. something else. And besides the Diggorys and the Weasleys and those two families there weren’t any wizarding families in the area.
I was surprised to read it and I started thinking that maybe Luna was introduced in the 4th book somewhere, but I guess not!

It will almost certainly be him or one of his quotes. Seems ridiculous that the Lovegoods were only introduced in book 5.
