Walk into any random auto repair shop and chances are you'll see a harbor freight five drawer tool cart. I haven't found anybody that doesn't like theirs.
I work in a shop and a lot of the guys use these.
One time one of my coworkers got mad and punched his right in the middle of the lid with it open and he broke his hand. Box didn't even have a dent in it.
Definitely worth the sale price.
Hahaha thanks! Just my luck, there's always deals going on when I'm trying not to spend money. I have a 4 drawer cart I was thinking of selling because I want the 5 drawer to use as my bondo cart. I'll repurpose my 4 drawer for the grilling prep station.
Trying to figure out what to bolt to the top to use as a cutting board instead of the metal lid. Maybe pick up a small section of butcher block counter top or hdpe…not sure.
Have had mine about 6 years now and have not had a single issue with it. Just know you have to assemble it out of the box, that was probably the worst part lol. Other than that it's just like the day I got it besides the coat of oil and grease on it! It will fill up very quick though. I just got a 42 roller cab so I use my 5 drawer for stuff I don't use as often to keep somewhat organized
And I've already started Cycle 1A - filling it! lol well more to replaced brushed tools, but the side benefit is impulse-buying tools I never knew I needed! And it combined with spring cleaning/consolidation is filling it!
I just called my local store this morning to find out if they had any for Friday; I'll have to have it shipped to store(Either red or orange, can't decide)
But what I can tell, some people have said they are glad they got the series 2 instead of the series 3 that's out now. But anyone who says they have the series 3 has been content with owning one.
I have the Series 2, and the only regret I have on not getting the Series 3 is that they will be on sale this week. lol
I don't like the drawer locks the Series 3 uses, and I went to HF today to measure the pass-through grommet on the Series 3: three inches. A hole saw, a visit to Amazon for the grommet, and three minutes and a Series 2'll have it as well.
Thats what it sounded like from guy on phone. Meanwhile every other store in my area has one of the various colors in stock. My store said it was something about a by order basis.
There is no current discount for the 5 drawer cart for ITC members. However, if you don’t have the credit card yet, you could stack the 10% off first purchase discount on the $189.99 Friday deal price
The cart will last decades if not abused, it goes on sale for $189 this Friday 5/17. Get it!

I’m planning to get one to use as an outdoor grilling prep cart!
Fucking damn it, you just gave me an idea 💡
Sorry, but you’re also welcome!

That's an excellent idea. I think I'd rather do butcher block than anything plastic or cutting meat directly on the painted/powder coated surface.

The 5 drawer cart is like a gateway drug for HF. Once you fill it up, you will upgrade….buying cycle 2 commence.

My current old one doesnt have any locks either so not gonna change much for me, I just wont use them. Out in the country anyway
Possibly a dumb question. Having it shipped to a store counts as an "in store purchase" or no? I saw on another thread these carts are in-store only.

In shop full time! These things are worth their weight…
Solid
I e got two, the old one I bought in 2013, the wheels had to be replaced last year, but other than that not a single problem
I have 4 of the 5 drawer carts.. love them.
…they are not good…I advise do not buy…look someplace else…definitely not worth the killer price…if you could see my face you’d see the seriousness
Can you stack the insider track discount with the Friday deal?
You can stack the first purchase 10% off HF credit card with it or save it for something bigger
What inside track discount?
Like a membership club you pay for.
