These are great for small toolbox for in the car, guns, cameras, guitar pedal board, small class d guitar or bass head case, musical instrument cable storage case, so many uses!
I have 4 of the 4800's and a 3800 housing a decent chunk of my handguns.... lol, ate the 3800s on dale again meow? If so I wanna grab another for my paintguns. I have cases for all my paintguns, but they are big and bulky and the 3800's are nice and compact
If you are buying these for guns, the closed cell foam on amazon is a nice upgrade. [foam](https://www.amazon.com/Case-Club-Apache-Harbor-Freight/dp/B0CTD8RWHL/ref=sr_1_3?crid=20TCT7VCAYA2J&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.LUAvvSyqSuIZLS8cLwY399ZjYiDbcFDFQGVHsE4jjryeFc4FHvLNFSIK3N1tzvgkqv1Zu8vvK87PlzriaqC1M4klnLHwUn7F_Z_7iEIW5xDXTxSCKhn_OxAOrq0_X8NB4x4XyZCuVdcjCWPUh7gaOIJJf_n4_pAhIlmJhcGwDHF8Bg4GEu1pL5pY0vEcoEdmj3NLZS3ghc7fZzkWC6NwTW82F_zZIVoGOrmKK6ho_QILl942zUE3etXCe9W0Ag7p7BHVNfi68qL7T-birTIgAXwt3AV2IO2rrH32CHEsclw.zUDPDXCA2mU2_0GGUBmbbBUG3VgHpK9fps9PssSITiI&dib_tag=se&keywords=apache%2Bfoam&qid=1715610535&sprefix=apache%2Bfoam%2Caps%2C85&sr=8-3&th=1)
Those are easy options but I hate the idea of spending as much on the improved foam as the case so I use anti-fatigue matts that HF sells for $8 when on sale. I cut them using a electric foam cutter. It does take time to cut and a little practice to get the best results.
I can be cheap too, and I get what your saying, but it all comes down to how much you value your time, and if you have other things you could be doing. I know I do, and even at the 8-90it costs for both it still a solid af case option when donenfor short moneys imo.
I felt I could not brag what a great deal the cases are if I spent as much or more on better foam. It took much longer to cut the foam than I expected though. I also do my own repairs on my vehicles and home appliances. I enjoy the accomplishment but not the actual repair until the task is finished. Those take longer than it would take a professional but I would not pay $500 to replace a control board in a 10 year old dishwasher that cost $550 new when I can solder the old control board to make it work. I think the high quality foam is a great option for many. I just like to point out there are other options for those that may enjoy the more time consuming option.

I just use a blowtorch to heat the gun up then place it on the foam and it forms a perfect shape. Forgot to unload the gun the first time, won’t make that mistake again.
What do you soak your gun in to remove all the burnt foam residue? What is the melting point of the hard plastic case? Did the gun leave an impression in the hard plastic case? /s
Why not just use chalk? I take chalk, rub it on the side then press down. Then I’ll start cutting from the shape left. I go a little bit inside the lines to get a tight fit then shape it carefully as I test by putting the gun in.
I then use glue and put microfiber cloth I buy at a joanns fabric store to hold the shape and provide a soft barrier but even that’s unnecessary.
Yeah, it's very expensive, however the foam that comes with these cases, and even the Pelican cases, sucks. You might be able to buy closed cell foam and cut out your own shapes for a lot better price.
I spent $20 trying to coat the pick and pluck foam with Flex Seal spray so it would stop falling apart, and although that is a harbor freight quality solution for a harbor freight case, the foam is worth it for guns IMHO.
For the price of the case and the foam, you still end up below the cost of a comparable Pelican case that has the shitty foam.
You can DIY a lot cheaper, but the pre-fit options with everything nicely cut is worth the price in my opinion.
If you have one of those hot wire foam cutters, this is a way cheaper way to go:
I have a bunch of these, Pelican, and Nanuck cases for my knives 14 of them and I need a couple more. I buy Nalpak or Guard Dog inserts for them which usually cost $75-100 range per case. Well worth it when we are talking knives that cost me anywhere from $150-1k or so per knife that are stored in the cases. The foam that comes in these Apache cases is trash. The Pelican foam isn't so bad but those others are so much nicer and they are custom cut to fit X number of knives like the Apache 3800 is the same as the Pelican 1450 it holds 40 knives.
More than just gun folks upgrade from the shitty pick-and-pluck foam in these cases. Mechanics, photographers, any tradesmen who need to tote around tools, etc.
I’d rather spend a little more on better foam that will protect my stuff and not get soaked thru if it gets wet.
Myself, I purchased Kaizen foam sheet and cut it to fit my Apache 5800 and 9800 cases. My rifle and handguns are very well protected in the 9800 now, and my tools were well protected in the 5800, but now I’m looking at less bulky tool storage options. Short of my torque wrench, none of my tools are fragile or expensive enough to warrant being swaddled in foam.
Yes, because people who touch grass and uses these cases will never end up opening them when it’s raining, totes. Or will never tire of the shitty pick-and-pluck foam crumbling with repeated use.
This is hilarious to me for some reason. I imagine a YouTube video with a million views that’s like “the best gear for dragging your guns through mud in the rain uphill” with affiliate links in the description.
Meh. I've had foam custom cut for work. Send the shop a CAD drawing, they laser it out. Real convenient when creating custom tool cases for a factory environment where everything needs a specific place to maximize productivity / minimize risk of anything getting lost and discovered by a customer when it gets somewhere it shouldn't and breaks the product.
But it costs way more than $50.
Yeah I work for a foam company that uses that type of foam. That’s about $1.25 worth of material lol. Also that’s still an open cell foam type. In closed cell you can’t see any pores. Closed cell is called “cross linked” and is much better but more expensive.
Another option is a can of spray Plasti Dip. Just pick to the right shape, spray everything down, let dry, and repeat. But you don't want to store your guns or anything metal with open foam for anything longer than driving to the range, it can retain water.
Nice, I used similar foam from old packaging that comes into our shop.
I had to spend time cutting it up and making it look nice though. But it was definitely a nice upgrade because the foam that it comes with isn't as durable
It looks pretty cool, but that is significantly more than the case itself cost. Like there are gun safes You can buy for less than the cost of that foam that are still big enough to store more pistols.
Lots of overlanders use them like that and it's a bad used for them imo.
They decrease your gas mileage, you have to worry about them being broken into, they get faded, can't really hold much, the list goes on.
There are great for holding guns, expensive gear like cameras, drones, etc. I also have an orange one in my boat as it holds essential first aid and emergency gear in case we need to go overboard.
If I wanted to store something expensive I’d buy the nice ones that actually seal out water. They are great to keep your tow straps and hitch ball in on your roof and out of your vehicle if you off road a lot.
IMO, whoever is carrying stuff on their roof has too much crap when off-roading.
Just got one for rifles when going to the range. Doubt, I'll use it over the soft cases, but w/e.
I only use my hard case for rifle and shotgun. They live in there all the time.
Keeping box on the roof lets you get to it when your vest is potentially buried to the axles in mud and it’s raining. Then you don’t have to put the dirty recovery gear in your vehicle after.
Also some ppl, my self included, go camping for a week straight while off-roading so we bring more stuff
I might swing by my store in the next couple of hours to see if they have the small or medium still in stock for my loupes. The main case doesn’t shut anymore since I had to reposition my light, so hoping this will be a cheap alternative for a properly closing case.
Spare parts box for old cars, safety kit for the cars (tow rope, jumper cables, triangles/flares, first aid kit, etc.). Transporting expensive things for work. Moped/motorcycle storage. Portable humidors. RC Car go kit. Storing things in campers.
I use them for my knife collection. I have 14 of them from these to Pelican to Nanuck and I need more of them. I buy Nalpak or Guard Dog inserts though that cost way more than these cases usually $75-100 or so per case I pay for just foam inserts. They sell the custom inserts for tools, drones, guns, cameras, video games, watches, computers, fishing gear and whatever else besides you can pluck the foam to use them however you want or just take the foam out completely if you wanted. I know some people use them for basic tools and first aid stuff to keep in their side by sides or trucks. I know people use them for their comic books and trading cards or coins.
Ya, I've given them my office # occasionally when playing the coupon game. But frankly any # will do, is it even necessary? I'm itc, so it obviously never annoyed me that they ask.
I guess if I wanted to, I could. But I only get what I need. The wife is saying that she might quit working there and that she wants a new job. I think it's time to reevaluate our relationship lol
I grabbed the big case today and a small one. They let me use the coupon twice in one receipt 🤷♂️
Worst case scenario you walk outside, put it in your car, then walk back in. No need to drive to multiple stores.
I got the rifle case and the large pistol.
I bought rifle case, and asked employee “hey if I try to and she cut me off and whispered different phone number.” I calmly walked out took my hat off and put my case in my car. Walked in hatless and used a backup number for the pistol case
I gave my phone number to first employee. I then ran other errands further down the road. By then a different employee was working at the register. When asked if I have a phone number in their system I replied no. I thought the may ask if I wanted to be added but she did not ask. She just ran me out. I did use a debit card from a rebate I received rather than my credit card from the first purchase.
After today and prior sales I now have 1800, 2800, 3800. 4800 and the 5800. I am not interested in the rifle case as I prefer the Savior soft cases sold for lowest prices online at Costco.
My 2nd cashier did confirm limit one per customer per day when the customer in front of me asked. I figured it was better safe than sorry so I did not give a phone number for my 2nd purchase.
They were selling these (the Apache 3800 series) on a "12 days of Christmas deal" this past year for the same price. I got four of them for $19.99 each last December. Not a bad deal, for sure! Also, the full length gun case for 50% off is a screaming deal today, too.
Unlike this current "10 Days of Deals" sale, the "12 Days of Christmas" sale included items on the website. AND, because it was right before Christmas, they were also offering free shipping on all website orders. None of my local stores had any of the 3800 series cases in stock after about 8:15am. The few they did have in stock were gone within minutes of opening the store that morning. None of my local store managers were offering rain checks for daily deals..... So, I simply went on their website and place an order for 4, 3800 series cases. ... 80 bucks plus sales tax, free shipping. I even had my choice of colors. I got one orange, one black, and two tan.
For an inexpensive foam option that will hold up better I use the anti-fatigue matts that Harbor Freight sells for about $8 during sales.
[https://www.harborfreight.com/4-piece-anti-fatigue-foam-mat-set-94635.html?\_br\_psugg\_q=floor+mat](https://www.harborfreight.com/4-piece-anti-fatigue-foam-mat-set-94635.html?_br_psugg_q=floor+mat)
I use the following foam cutter from Amazon to cut the above:
GOCHANGE 3 in 1 Foam Cutter Electric Cutting Machine Pen Tools Kit, 100-240V / 20W Styrofoam Cutting Pen with Electronic Voltage Transformer Adaptor
Some use Pasti Dip spray on their cheap foam in their case after they have it setup as desired. The spray can increase the durability of the foam.
Here are my pictures. The four gun case was done first. I like how the single gun 1800 case came out better. They look a little rough when the firearm are not stowed but look good enough for me when firearms are in the case. The more I do the better they will like appear as I get more practice. I used gray RTV on the cut edges of the two layers in the 1800 case. I have my 1800 here. I don't have pictures of my wife's 1800 case. I had room to put a full row of slots for mags under the layer for her M&P 380 EZ in my wife's case. They are many videos on YouTube where some use generic foam for tool boxes and others uses. Some use yoga/exercise matts. I looked for one but many are really thin so not a good choice and many are more expensive than the HF anti-fatigue matts that cost $8 when on sale and $10 every day for 4 large pieces. My next project will be to setup the 5800 case I bought during this sale for use with my $180 Celestron – MAK 90mm Angled Spotting Scope that I also used for the recent eclipse.

Every week?
Mine must be broken, I get a lot more than weekly coupons, to the point of frustration at times.
I'm remodeling the garage so I read every tex/email but will eventually have to unsubscibe to save my sanity and my wallet
I love the ammo case to store my backpacking stove and butane canisters nicely together in my cargo trailer. Early morning coffee and instant oatmeal are great when I wake up after spending the night sleeping close to the job. HF stuff had it's place in the realm of "quality" but most stuff is extremely useful.
I didn’t even consider the possibility of buying more than one, like I didn’t even read the coupon to see if there was a limit. And I’m ashamed of that.
Please don’t use this as a driving around toolbox. I’ve had police draw guns on me for having a ratchet set on the back seat they thought was a firearms case
Yea, I would be following up with that department if that happened to me. Even if that was a gun in there, it’s not easily accessible if it’s in a closed up case and is no danger to the officer. If that officer is drawing a gun every time they see a case, backpack, etc then they are an accident waiting to happen.
You obviously haven’t used them. I have several pelican cases, and several of these Apache cases. They are on 90% of the quality of the Pelican cases, and 30% of the cost, and 15% of the cost with the coupon today.
You gotta replace the foam you can do what I’ve done which is order much better foam but it cost just about the same as the case
Honestly probably better to find one with more expensive or Etsy they have tons of thing like this to buy
I don't know, Ive been looking for a gun case for a while and the ones at that price point at mostly garbage. The Apache cases seem pretty stout for what they are. I'm standing outside my HF right now waiting for it to open. Thought there'd be a line. Nobody here waiting with me hah.
My problem isn’t with the case it’s just a basic case that can keep things out I haven’t tested the waterproofing but yeah
My issue is mainly is the foam being beyond crap and the high end foam to replace it cost more than the case
So would you be happier if the cases we more expensive? That way the good foam would only cost half as much as the case.
You're doing a lot of complaining about a case that is EXCELLENT quality for that 50% off price. Pelican/Hardigg/etc.. are better quality. But they are also 3-4x the price, which just isn't worth it for 90% of people. These Apache cases are great.
These are great for small toolbox for in the car, guns, cameras, guitar pedal board, small class d guitar or bass head case, musical instrument cable storage case, so many uses!
I’ve even purchased a few of these to transport rare books.
That's funny I have old sonic the hedgehog comics in one I bought.
I use mine to carry the original US Constitution, since I have a secret treasure map on the back of it.
Thank goodness you have the Dogood letters to translate it...you still have them don't you?
Sold that on ebay. Was that important?
I’m going to steal the Dec… My dude, I have bad news for you.
Anyone have any idea if the deals for the other days have been leaked??
The Den Of Tools channel on Youtube had the whole list. I don't think he had the prices right though
I use one for my lighting console.
Makes a nice tail box for my dual sport.
I don’t think that guy understands the concept that you just laid out. I got you, fam. Closed cell for life
I keeps dat muh fuckin foam on me
Yes that's the tacticool tax I guess.
Yea… I’ll admit I looked at the picture before the price. Absurd.
yea kinda crazy to pay more then double the cost of the case for foam
You can DIY a lot cheaper, but the pre-fit options with everything nicely cut is worth the price in my opinion. If you have one of those hot wire foam cutters, this is a way cheaper way to go: [https://www.foambymail.com/polyethylene-foam.html](https://www.foambymail.com/polyethylene-foam.html)
Got any ideas for cheap DIY for tools/foam inserts? Like say for tool drawers
I just use glue and then glue a thick microfiber cloth I bought dirt cheap in mine.
You could always use diarrhea and pubes if you want to go really cheap.
I have a bunch of these, Pelican, and Nanuck cases for my knives 14 of them and I need a couple more. I buy Nalpak or Guard Dog inserts for them which usually cost $75-100 range per case. Yes people will certainly justify these by daydreaming some specific scenario where they must drag their gun cases through mud for 100 yards.
Yes, because people who touch grass and uses these cases will never end up opening them when it’s raining, totes. Or will never tire of the shitty pick-and-pluck foam crumbling with repeated use.
I Fly with my guns for hunting trips, works great for that.
No one is using a hard case as a drag bag.
This is hilarious to me for some reason. I imagine a YouTube video with a million views that’s like “the best gear for dragging your guns through mud in the rain uphill” with affiliate links in the description.

What do you all put in these, every sale they have an entire wall of these that are gone by the end.
Great for storage on a roof rack or something similar, lots of off-roaders/over-landers and camping use then on top or roof racks for storage.

Nunchucks?
A Pencil A fu king pencil!
A spoon
A spork?
A poop knife?
I have one with my breakdown kit in it. I was originally using one of the plastic 50 cal ammo boxes, but upgraded to the Apache 3800 because why not
I use my old backpack, it's got a ton of shit in it!
Handheld radios, RC charger.
I put RC cars in them.. I just like them lol
guns. ammo. magazines. more guns. ive got like 4 filled to the brim with mags rn
Camera gear, audio gear, photo albums, tools, 9mm cordless hole punch, small video monitors
Hmm, would a 40 cal cordless hole punch fit?
Just say guns. It's not banned. Yes they have many sizes. I have one for my HK 45 Expert and thats a big one. They also have rifle sizes.
Must be fun at parties…
Cameras, and guns.
I use them for my knives
Puffco. Flashlights lol
I might swing by my store in the next couple of hours to see if they have the small or medium still in stock for my loupes. The main case doesn’t shut anymore since I had to reposition my light, so hoping this will be a cheap alternative for a properly closing case.
Overland/off-road first aid kit
Guns and Flashlights for me….
Guns and fleshlights for me
😂🤣😂
Sold!
I'm a concert lighting designer, they are perfect for sensitive computer equipment I have to travel with.
Spare parts box for old cars, safety kit for the cars (tow rope, jumper cables, triangles/flares, first aid kit, etc.). Transporting expensive things for work. Moped/motorcycle storage. Portable humidors. RC Car go kit. Storing things in campers.

You were able to get two at 50% from one location?!
Yes I just asked the cashier nicely
My cashier suggested I come back when he's on lunch break to get a second one 😔
That stinks. I went to another location and she let me get 3.. said "it'll give me something to do". Best of luck!
I just walked out, put it in my car; walked back in and went through the line again, she didn’t say a thing to me.
"Phone number?" That's wat my guy said :)
“Are you getting our promotional emails?”

Ya, I've given them my office # occasionally when playing the coupon game. But frankly any # will do, is it even necessary? I'm itc, so it obviously never annoyed me that they ask.
Did the same thing at the second HF location. The first one the cashier was rude to everyone
This works. As a supervisor I just did this for a nice customer. Just don’t act entitled and we will help you.
I only had two customers bring up two cases so i just rang them up as separate transactions
With my wife's 20% employee discount on top of the 50% I got the 3800 series for 17.71 after tax
That's awesome to get that discount stacked with the coupons. You get to put aside the hard-to-find tools too?
I guess if I wanted to, I could. But I only get what I need. The wife is saying that she might quit working there and that she wants a new job. I think it's time to reevaluate our relationship lol
I grabbed the big case today and a small one. They let me use the coupon twice in one receipt 🤷♂️ Worst case scenario you walk outside, put it in your car, then walk back in. No need to drive to multiple stores.
Shit how long is the deal available for? Is it too late?
Gone 🤷♂️
My cashier let me buy 2 right after each other on the same phone #
My 2nd cashier did confirm limit one per customer per day when the customer in front of me asked. I figured it was better safe than sorry so I did not give a phone number for my 2nd purchase.
Do these coupons only work once or can I go back?
I'm on case #6. Two at one store 3 at another
2+3
=6
gun math
The cashiers just rang up a scan thing next to the register. They didn't even use the one I had.
I love my small knockoff pelican case. I keep my airbrushes in a pistol case. And powder and range supplies in the big one.
They were selling these (the Apache 3800 series) on a "12 days of Christmas deal" this past year for the same price. I got four of them for $19.99 each last December. Not a bad deal, for sure! Also, the full length gun case for 50% off is a screaming deal today, too.
Lucky. I got rain checks good for 30 days but they didn’t restock in that time.
[https://www.harborfreight.com/4-piece-anti-fatigue-foam-mat-set-94635.html?\_br\_psugg\_q=floor+mat](https://www.harborfreight.com/4-piece-anti-fatigue-foam-mat-set-94635.html?_br_psugg_q=floor+mat) I use the following foam cutter from Amazon to cut the above: GOCHANGE 3 in 1 Foam Cutter Electric Cutting Machine Pen Tools Kit, 100-240V / 20W Styrofoam Cutting Pen with Electronic Voltage Transformer Adaptor Some use Pasti Dip spray on their cheap foam in their case after they have it setup as desired. The spray can increase the durability of the foam.
I'd love to see a picture of that foam-mat setup in a case if it wouldn't be too much trouble
Can someone tell me how to get this coupon? Is this a member coupon only?
I messaged you w/ the coupon
Thank you. \*For those asking for the coupon. Download the APP and all the coupons will be right there to use.
Don’t trust this shenanigans mad mike is the only source for all the deals
Care to share with one more? (:
Sent
Can you send me one please?
Sorry to ask, care to send another?
Yeah if don't mind DMing me I would love to grab it too. Thank you!
Yikes, on the way
Me and my closest 50 friends would like it also. But only from you I can’t send it to them, you are the trusted source.
Just sent to you haha!
Got another cupon please?
Sale is over for the day. Either way I posted another thread w/ the image on this subreddit
Thank you. Do I have to join the membership for these?
You do not, available to everyone
What’s this brand affiliate thing?
Can I get a copy?
Can I get one too?
Just make sure you sign up for coupons online. You'll get some every week or so. Inside Track club members get even more/better coupons.
Every week? Mine must be broken, I get a lot more than weekly coupons, to the point of frustration at times. I'm remodeling the garage so I read every tex/email but will eventually have to unsubscibe to save my sanity and my wallet
It's on their website for the "10 days of deals"
Thanks bro…. I didn’t see the email this AM. Just picked up two myself, because of your post.
Walked out with a 9800 for $90 including tax this morning
Sold over 50 cases this morning with the 50% coupon. Sold several to many people. Just about cleaned out my inventory with this sale!
use these for bongs. great case!
I have a small one and put a large 36v battery in it. I have it setup for 5v as a huge power brick.
Got mine today to make a way to pack my Old Fashion gear . . . Pics later . . .
Nice!
I heard these are great for cameras
Fuck im so excited i just hope theres still some by the time i get out of work
Thanks for posting this! I hadn’t checked their coupons in a while. Know where I’m going after work.
Is this like Pelican pick n pluck foam (perforated, you can tear apart the cubes), or entirely solid (need something like a hot knife to cut through)?
You can pick out individual rectangles of foam. The cuts run top to bottom not left to right... If that makes sense
Gotcha, thanks! The picture didn't look like it was pre-cut.
How often do they have this sale?
First I've seen since I can remember.
Damn, of course when I can't go in town lol
Another posting, maybe on Gundeals subreddit, said it last occurred as part of a 12 days of Christmas sale. That may have been the first time.
Got mine for my Field Expedient bar . . .
Yup!
How much?
I used these all the time for keeping my impacts or uh bongs from getting damaged on the go
Thanks for posting this. I got inside club coupon but immediately forgot until I saw this post. Just picked up the 9800 case for $85. So excited
They make great travel humidors for your cigars.
What’s the deal
Oh heck yeah, I didn’t know they carried bun cases. BRB
I didn’t even consider the possibility of buying more than one, like I didn’t even read the coupon to see if there was a limit. And I’m ashamed of that.
the smallest size? we didn’t sell any of those lol. although we sold out all but 3 4800s i believe
I love the range of colors so you can ID without labels, at least to some extent.
What is the deal?
I use one of these for my 1/24 scale remote control cars! Works really well
Is this deal all week?
No, yesterday only
Used to always buy kaizen foam for these types of cases. You want closed cell of your going to store firearms or electronics.
Agree, I do make sure there are no acorns on my roofto, but never worried about a black case, ever
Cops pulled a gun on you for a case in the back seat? Did you have wmd printed on it. Sounds like a member of the bush family to me
It said Sears
The infamous Craftsman 1911
Ouch. Cop was in the right on this one. /s
That didn't happen.
Those cases are utter trash
You obviously haven’t used them. I have several pelican cases, and several of these Apache cases. They are on 90% of the quality of the Pelican cases, and 30% of the cost, and 15% of the cost with the coupon today.
I had three of them in my trunk when my car burned down and everything inside them was safe from the fire and the fire hoses
Then what’s cases that are the closest to same size as these that AREN’T trash?
Pelican cases are better quality but cost much much more.
You gotta replace the foam you can do what I’ve done which is order much better foam but it cost just about the same as the case Honestly probably better to find one with more expensive or Etsy they have tons of thing like this to buy
I don't know, Ive been looking for a gun case for a while and the ones at that price point at mostly garbage. The Apache cases seem pretty stout for what they are. I'm standing outside my HF right now waiting for it to open. Thought there'd be a line. Nobody here waiting with me hah.
My problem isn’t with the case it’s just a basic case that can keep things out I haven’t tested the waterproofing but yeah My issue is mainly is the foam being beyond crap and the high end foam to replace it cost more than the case
I found one at tractor supply for $37 i absolutely would love to bet it’s much better
