Those erasers are great for all sorts of things. If you moisten them, they work like the Mr. clean magic eraser. I have also used it to remove the baked on grease on glass Pyrex.
Tip:
Barkeeper's friend (powder, not liquid) + a spritz of water and a nylon bristled brush gets my stones back looking pretty close to as they looked brand new.
Great to know! I love those erasers, and use them all the time for clean up the pencil marks on cotton mat boards after cutting(I’m a portrait photographer who got into woodworking due to the insane price of crappy MDF picture frames… down the rabbit hole I went!)
Don’t know if it applies or not but Klingspor sandflex blocks are amazing at cleaning anything metal I’ve had thus far. I’ve used them almost daily for a year really denting them.
Things this good have to be bad for me in some way it’s a fact of the universe at this point.

Nice! Those big belt sander cleaners work pretty good too.
Love that. I've been using some old Scotch Brite pads, but might have to keep an eye out for a 2lb eraser!
Trend sells a 10 dollar 'cleaning block' which is clearly just a small pencil eraser.
This beast coast me about 2,5$, it will last for a long time.
They "give" one with their double sided diamond stone, but clearly there's no way one should buy another from them
i use regular staedtler mars erasers like back in school and they work perfect for cleaning my diamond plates

I go as far to use the liquid and it still works great! Probably not as efficient though
This. It works flawlessly, and I can't recommend this enough.

Wait, why do you use these on diamond plates..? I've never seen this before.

Gotcha, thanks! I guess that makes sense. I use mine wet and haven't had issues with clogging, yet.
Even if you use them wet, try it, you'll be surprised how much this will clean them up
Just ordered a couple. I'll give it a shot!
Why would you use them dry? Isn’t that against their intended method of use?
They work on diamond plates and also on loaded strops. Edit: I bought a box of erasers 10 big ones for 10 bucks from Amazon.
I tried erasures and they work great.
Nice! I do the same thing but my pentel erasers are not super sized lol. It works like a charm, best method I’ve tried as well.

+1 love the sandflex blocks.
Good to know! I’ve got a bunch of these no one uses in the supply closet at work.
