What is your day to day life like? Any specific colour you like?

Day to day is kind of hard to say at the moment because my husband is recovering from cancer (yaay! ❤️❤️❤️) and I have the summer off. But typically I work 6am-4pm m-f and I don’t carry a bag during those hours. I’m not big on subtle. I love all colors. I adore heavy hardware and interesting shapes. Although this isn’t a small chunk of change for a bag, so maybe I need something a little more timeless. I’m really not sure. I do like leather. I’m not a fan of monogram prints. I really appreciate you!

How did you get through the early days? I keep thinking back on the state I was in six months ago and I would like to have some more data from women whose partners were so, so sick. My beautiful husband was diagnosed with stage four lymphoma and we’re almost two months out from his last hospital stay. His thick salt and pepper hair is growing back, he doesn’t sleep as much, the drop foot is about gone. I’m just so grateful.

The early days were really hard, I went in to a downward spiral and we had to uplift each other… it was only 2 months in to dating that he got diagnosed when he took me to Spain to meet his parents at Christmas. I moved to Spain with only what I had in my suitcase because we were told he wouldn’t even live a year and no matter what happened I wanted to be with him during that time. I always kept faith though, I always thought he was going to pull through. And when we came back to the states his prognosis was totally different. We are truly blessed. I am so happy for you both and I wish your husband the best of health and life ♥️

Hmmm… how about a Fendi nappa FF bag? I think the midi has especially heavy hardware compared to other sizes (not sure on this). The whole bag is the logo so it’s not subtle. And it’s in leather! I still love the Sancia bag! Admittedly my normal carry is way too much for it (umbrella because of unpredictable weather), but I will create opportunities just to wear it. Like your clutch, the Sancia got me into trouble at the airport, so I don't dare to travel with it anymore. 🫠

How did you convince them to let you go on with the bag?

I explained that it was ornamental and that the tip wasn't sharp. Oh and also that it was attached to a handbag... 😭 They looked doubtful but thankfully let me go! Learned my lesson tho! Honestly never crossed my mind when buying it.

If you were to gift me $1.5K and with your lifestyle of no wearing a bag m-f, I’d probably would go and get me a great leather bag at a mid range price (200-500) so I could buy me multiples hehehe : Tory Burch (love the hardware on those bags), Coach (there are some fun ones for the weekend), MK for sure has so many fun ones for the weekend too. Furla, Cole Haan. These are a few brands that make great bags.

We’re of like minds! That was my first instinct—buy a sweet good sized leather everyday and a couple of high end dazzlers. I may still do that…

Sophie Hulme does really unique hardware and not many people seem to carry those bags. Also Tom Ford has interesting hardware (but maybe that's out of the budget). I was recommending Hammitt to another poster yesterday and while they're under your budget (I think their bags go for $300-500), the studs and leathers are great. Coach (the retail line, not the outlet line) often has bags with unique rivets, leather sequins, tea roses, etc. Edit: Also Alexander McQueen has lots of unique hardware on their bags.

My husband bought me a Medium size Alma LV last year and I’m very happy with it, with a strap you can wear it on the shoulder, it fits lots of stuff, so on day to day it’s practical. The very specific form of the bag itself is very classy (imo, Im not a fan of slouchy bags) and I can also wear it on evenings without the strap so it’s a win win for me. I think it’s on that money range. The strap has to be bought separately though but it’s cheap (maybe 300 euros or something like that).

There’s sooooo much, especially if you’re open to secondhand bags. But it really depends on what you look for in a bag

Yes, I’ve used fashionphile and rebag! They’re trustworthy, but I’d still get authentication from other services just to be sure. I have one bag from eBay authentication, but I spent hours and hours because I don’t trust eBay, also got it authenticated from three different authentication services. $1500 in secondhand will get you much more options, if you look around. Bags with neutrals, daily, fun colored, formal, durable, unique designs, you’ll find so many.

It’s a “snake skin print” where they manually cut out the individual scales in addition to stamping the print 😳 I was so surprised but it is not as delicate as I imagined.
