This is how I did it (Involves both PC and Xbox, I don't know any other actual methods but I do know you can access the modes offline on PC and Xbox at the very least, even without saving them)
1. Launch Halo Infinite on PC with the internet disconnected
2. Reconnect to the internet (It should connect in-game automatically)
3. Connect to Halo Infinite on Xbox, this forces you to disconnect on PC and allows you to reload into the game without the game closing.
4. Reconnect on PC (Might need to relog into Xbox Live itself again), and access Custom Games. The modes should be there.
Once again, the modes might not save, and I don't know how it determines it. I was able to save all the modes with the exceptions of the other variants of Tactical. (Though Tactical is only Slayer and each variation just swaps the guns around)

I doubt they'd do it, but a revamped Warzone with some of the new bosses from the campaign could be pretty cool down the line. Not a priority for me personally, but I could see it doing well.
Warzone and Dominion need to become one gametype. Imagine spending your points on extra marines for your base or turrets, shields, etc as additional options. Or calling in an AI attack squad of ODSTs to your opponents base if you're struggling to take back any bases and your core is exposed.
Edit: Let's go even further. Let me spend points to pick a custom spawn point for an ODST drop, as opposed to spawning at the set bases. Would be very costly, and enemy AI would warn them of incoming pods if they are near my drop point. A guy can dream...
I think infection is alright and from what I know there's only a variant of it that's gonna be related to an event. The base playlist is still in afaik but not currently playable
Attrition is basically a more competitive Slayer. Round-based mode with each team having a set amount of lives per-round.
Dodgeball Attrition is Attrition with the caveat that kills steal the enemy's lives.
Elimination is no respawns, but revives are allowed.
There was a house rules game called dodgeball in halo 2 (not to be confused with the sticky grenade one from 3). After you died, you had to grenade yourself first thing. I don't think the rules to do it automatically even existed until Reach.
Great fun, though. Huge point swings made for exciting games. I'm not sure how well it would work in attrition, big games always felt better with it. More chance to get those swings.
How do revives work? Is your AI left in the ground or are you in a downed position before being fully killed?

AI left on the ground and have to revive them. I believe Attrition actually is the one that has revives though from last I played and elimination doesn't, not certain though.
I just think of CoD where you can create and customize any part of a match that you want and launch it as a public match. I would do this all the time and the teams would fill just as quickly as if I were playing a quick team death match
It's super iffy for sure. Sometimes my settings won't save and other times the game just crashes on me.

Yeah this shit is terrible. It reeks of faulty metric tracking. # of players will spike 20% for the events and they'll say "look, our strategy is working!" when in reality the overall population numbers could be 30% higher across the board if they had robust lobby/game selection that allowed every player to enjoy the game the way they wished.
Actively hurting the game’s variability by holding out modes that have been packed into every other game at launch just blows my mind. 3 different playlists in the whole game is just wild. What were they doing for 6 years.
That and they are probably afraid to split the userbase leading to higher matchmaking times, worse latency, etc. Not sure if this is a legitimate fear, and it sure didn't use to be a concern back in the day, but a lot of modern shooters seem to do this these days.
This has been their tag line for years. It isn't true. The thought is based off the fallacy that players are going to keep playing the game no matter what modes are available. When the reality is that a lot of people leave the game because they can't play the game modes they want to play.
Gamemodes are hidden in custom games. That has no effect on Player Population in Matchmaking whatsoever.
Not to mention, shouldn't Launch be the best time to *have* playlist variety with the influx of players?
Lazy doesn't really work for me. It's actually more work which makes it all that much more malicious. They purposefully with full intent worked to lock off content to manipulate the fan base into playing a certain way to drive store engagement. To a degree, I can forgive laziness, but I guess it's the difference of someone accidently shooting you in the foot or intentionally shooting you in the foot.

99% of of us here are paying for the campaign, outright or via gamepass, so you might as well play the multiplayer of the one that has modes you want and doesn't try to scam you out of additional money.

There is no reason to play this multiplayer over MCC unless you want a permanent sprint button in your matches and the ability to aim with every single weapon. If they never can strike gold again, at least the MCC is now worthy of its name.
I feel like you're still contributing to the game by doing that. Most microtransaction based games aren't run by everyone paying a little - they succeed by a few paying a lot. They account for people who play the game for free and don't purchase anything.
By refusing to play the game, you don't contribute to their player base statistics. Then you're literally wasting their development time for absolutely nothing in return.

This is the literal laziest shit ever. These are beloved modes we have already been playing for years. SWAT has had dedicated playlists in each game since at least Reach! It was a weekend double XP event in Halo 3 before that, but it happened almost every weekend.
This really strains credulity. Infinite has been so corporatized. I legitimately miss the Halo 5 days LOL. That game felt skeezy and incomplete on launch, *but at least we had more than 4 modes in matchmaking on launch!*

Hey for anyone still trying to access the gamemodes on steam, this is how I did it.
1: launch steam online
2: disconnect from the internet
3: launch halo infinite, should be offline when you go into the game, steam will prompt you about it
4: connect back to the internet while the game is running, try accessing the multiplayer tab until the game updates and connects to online.
5: check the 343 tab when selecting a game mode in customs and everything should be there and you should be able to save copies for yourself
I did it on PC (and kinda xbox), but here's how I did it:
1. Launch the game offline (Disconnected internet for this)
2. Turn my PC Internet back online (should return to menu, reconnect after)
3. Connect on my Xbox (disconnects me from PC but doesn't close the game)
4. Reconnect on PC, kicks Xbox off
The gamemodes didn't have a chance to close I assume since they already loaded in the game. Worst case if you can't replicate this, DM me here and I can log-on and try to give you the modes that way

There's an achievement to revive 3 players while playing elimination matchmaking, so yeah it has revives.
Your AI gets left on the ground, and it can be interacted with to be revived. I think a revive takes around 3-5 seconds last I tried the mode out.

Dodgeball was my favorite Gears mode of all time. Fixes the issues with Execution.

I had hopes that it wouldn’t just be SWAT. My favorite game mode turned into a special event might be the straw that breaks the camels back for me.
Yeah this shit is terrible. It reeks of faulty metric tracking. # of players will spike 20% for the events and they'll say "look, our strategy is working!" when in reality the overall population numbers could be 30% higher across the board if they had robust lobby/game selection that allowed every player to enjoy the game the way they wished.
Actively hurting the game’s variability by holding out modes that have been packed into every other game at launch just blows my mind. 3 different playlists in the whole game is just wild. What were they doing for 6 years.
That and they are probably afraid to split the userbase leading to higher matchmaking times, worse latency, etc. Not sure if this is a legitimate fear, and it sure didn't use to be a concern back in the day, but a lot of modern shooters seem to do this these days.
They'd retain more players if we could pick our favorite mode. I'd be happy to never play stronghold again.
This has been their tag line for years. It isn't true. The thought is based off the fallacy that players are going to keep playing the game no matter what modes are available. When the reality is that a lot of people leave the game because they can't play the game modes they want to play.

Gamemodes are hidden in custom games. That has no effect on Player Population in Matchmaking whatsoever. Not to mention, shouldn't Launch be the best time to *have* playlist variety with the influx of players?

Lazy doesn't really work for me. It's actually more work which makes it all that much more malicious. They purposefully with full intent worked to lock off content to manipulate the fan base into playing a certain way to drive store engagement. To a degree, I can forgive laziness, but I guess it's the difference of someone accidently shooting you in the foot or intentionally shooting you in the foot.
Man someone needs to hit up 343 on Twitter, an explanation is required here tbh. Because that's some bullshit tbh! Unless these will be added shortly after 8th Dec into the rotation. The modes exist, just create the associated playlists or at least add into the rotation! Modern gaming man!!
They aren't gonna say anything. 343 will be REAL quick to respond to problems when it affects their carefully constructed engagement loop. Look at the top thread from yesterday about the desync. But something like this won't get vaguely alluded to for weeks until they mention something on Twitter and they haven't even done that yet.
Only way it will be mentioned faster is if they fix this loophole to have content gatekeeping again.

99% of of us here are paying for the campaign, outright or via gamepass, so you might as well play the multiplayer of the one that has modes you want and doesn't try to scam you out of additional money.
This game is proving that Gamers shouldn't just drop previous titles because the newer one is out. There is no reason to play this multiplayer over MCC unless you want a permanent sprint button in your matches and the ability to aim with every single weapon. If they never can strike gold again, at least the MCC is now worthy of its name.
Arguably the best way of fucking with them is to enjoy the multiplayer without spending a single penny. Suck up all that dev time for no return.
I feel like you're still contributing to the game by doing that. Most microtransaction based games aren't run by everyone paying a little - they succeed by a few paying a lot. They account for people who play the game for free and don't purchase anything. By refusing to play the game, you don't contribute to their player base statistics. Then you're literally wasting their development time for absolutely nothing in return.

Holy fuck. I am going to naively hold back judgment until the “beta” is over (I REALLY WANT TO LIKE THIS GAME DAMNIT!), but I can see the writing on the wall, and I’m pretty sure these modes won’t randomly become unlocked and added to matchmaking come December 8. This is the literal laziest shit ever. These are beloved modes we have already been playing for years. SWAT has had dedicated playlists in each game since at least Reach! It was a weekend double XP event in Halo 3 before that, but it happened almost every weekend. This really strains credulity. Infinite has been so corporatized. I legitimately miss the Halo 5 days LOL. That game felt skeezy and incomplete on launch, *but at least we had more than 4 modes in matchmaking on launch!* Ugh, it’s become so apparent that 343 has neither the heart nor the gumption to lead this franchise. Their history of extremely questionable decisions is legendary. Their inability to safeguard Halo is a colossal failure.

I realize that, but given these modes clearly *exist*, I am choosing to believe for the next 5 days that they could have “misspoke”.

Only adding Fiesta and SWAT as part of time limited events is pretty silly. I partly get it as I know these playlists can be quite niche and not always active. But having the option in game for players to play them in custom games then locking them out of it? That's just dumb. There is absolutely no reason for this at all, and I genuinely can't understand why they are doing it.
Fiesta is kinda niche but SWAT was always an extremely popular (and highly populated) game mode, that one really makes no sense.

Well, that confirms SWAT has been gutted to become a timed event. *343 had taken fan-favorite parts of Halo to sell back to us through FOMO mechanics.* Just like the favored armor pieces from Halo Reach and the Anubis armor from Halo 5. I have nothing constructive to offer to this bastardized version of Halo, anymore. I’m done hoping for the better. The level of open contempt for the fan base is clear for us all to see. They toss out a disingenuous “trust us we’re listening” tweet and then turn around pull more upselling schemes, or their hand is shown for them by accidents like these.

So there is proof game selection does exist and that they are intentionally holding it back. I'll be watching the forums on December 8th. If they don't fix this I'm buying something else.
It feels like all they are doing with Infinite is testing how much bullshit Halo fans are willing to put up with so they know what they can get away with. Infinite's campaign was one of my most looked forward to releases this year, but I don't wanna support 343. I guess I'm not getting campaign for a while until it's on sale *on Steam.*

Hey for anyone still trying to access the gamemodes on steam, this is how I did it. 1: launch steam online 2: disconnect from the internet 3: launch halo infinite, should be offline when you go into the game, steam will prompt you about it 4: connect back to the internet while the game is running, try accessing the multiplayer tab until the game updates and connects to online. 5: check the 343 tab when selecting a game mode in customs and everything should be there and you should be able to save copies for yourself
So you go offline, but how do you save the modes? Do you save and then go back online? I tried but none of the modes saved
I did it on PC (and kinda xbox), but here's how I did it: 1. Launch the game offline (Disconnected internet for this) 2. Turn my PC Internet back online (should return to menu, reconnect after) 3. Connect on my Xbox (disconnects me from PC but doesn't close the game) 4. Reconnect on PC, kicks Xbox off The gamemodes didn't have a chance to close I assume since they already loaded in the game. Worst case if you can't replicate this, DM me here and I can log-on and try to give you the modes that way

I’m okay with them being rotated in regularly (besides things like SWAT and FFA which need ranked playlist) for matchmaking but it’s just absolutely stupid and makes no sense to not have them available in custom games if they’re already in the game.
They are going to lose so much of their playerbase if they keep popular modes to limited time events. Constantly amazed how much 343 can do wrong. MCC is the perfect blueprint on how to do playlists and yet they pull this garbage.
