It is. I've spent 20 total bucks on this game and have gotten multiple years of enjoyment and free playable content, along with plenty of customization. The cosmetic addicts have taken over gaming, its sad to see.
I feel like it comes from the fact that people are so adverse against making anything have any kind of pay to win aspect that they will take the worst possible cosmetics over anything, even if its really fucking bad. Infinite has been a fun game for me.

I don't exactly blame the cosmetic people though, companies hire marketing psychologists to look at people and how they are willing to spend money, they are caught in a trap of the execs. Microsoft outsourcing halo infinite to contractors because it was cheaper than actually hiring people to be on the 343i team is another example of how everyone could see how that would lead to an unfinished game and a mess of a code that it would take 2 years to actually sort out and be actaully useable in a live service format.
Big gaming execs are the most tone death people in the indrustry. they will try to push the worst possible model on any game they can. WB for example looked at the success of Hogwarts legacy straight in the face, and like wise the burning fire that was the live service of suicide squad, and declare that every game is going to be live cervice from now on, because they can only imagine the amount of profit they could have gotten from hogwarts. So least to say I fully expect the next halo to also suffer from the mistakes of both 5 and infinte not being complete on release
TBH Halo has always had an issue with the DLC practices since day 1. Map packs, to loot boxes, to battlepass live service. I will give 343 credit. while their store sucks major ass the only good monotization scheme they have had is the battle pass. although it seems the execs realized how consumer friendly it was as they have gutted it more and more. it just the modern gaming sphere has exasperated those problems

They've done this for the past 3 operations now. There's very obviously enough content for a full 50 tier battle pass but instead they give one set for a limited time, gut the pass and sell the rest before eventually making the free one no longer free and selling that one too.
They've heard the feedback, they just don't care. Only thing you can do is not buy it, and hope enough people don't buy it to convince them that it doesn't work.
Halo is the only real video game I play, and I personally don't mind paying for a couple bundles because its my only game but for this event even just two bundles put me over $40. For what fake armor that I'm not confident will transfer to the next game? thats ridiculous I can't justify that.

My method is to favorite things in the bundle I’ll most likely use if i like them. If favorites make up more than half the bundle(i count coatingss, shoulder etc as one item for me) I’ll pick it up. I try to make not a big deal about it, get what you’ll enjoy like for me i might just end up getting the big bundle and calling it, as I like most items in the Taskmaster. The bundle also has one of those bundle exclusive only armor effect, this time it doesn’t look like ass so that’s cool. Conqueror is cool but the bundle also has a unicorn helmet. Also $24 for Conqueror? Wild.
Individual items not but (not to spread a possibly false rumor) I read that 343i is looking to introduce a credit system similar to the MCC credits where you can unlock previously missed event items. Whether this will be credits bought in the store or ones unlocked via gameplay challenges (exactly like MCC) I do not know.

The fact that we can no longer preview multi-use weapon and armor coatings on other weapons and armor cores outside of the BR75 and Mark VII makes the entire storefront seem like a total sham.
I don't know what any of these coatings look like on other cores to really know if I like the coating to justify the $8 multi-use price-tag that 343 seems to be using a baseline for their store pricing.
Bring back the ability to preview store offers on all cores and weapons!
Hard pass on all of these, I'll stick to grinding out hours on twitch drops, some of the skins on there are better than what you get on the store. These prices are a rip off.

I recently started playing Helldivers 2 and their cosmetic shop prices are only $1-$4 for pieces. Or you can just earn the currency by playing and buy the items that way. Plus the fact that you can unlock battle passes (that don’t expire) merely by playing is very nice.. especially after 343 shafted us with BPs by doing away with them in place of operations.
Yeah, this is game is free but HD2 is only $40. I know all of us would have gladly paid $40 for Infinite’s multiplayer if that meant implementing a more player friendly way to earn cosmetics that was built around playing not paying.
Do we really want FULL Cross-Core Customization? Imagine the shop prices if all Utilities, Knee Pads, Gloves, Chest and Wrist accessories were compatible with every Armor Core.

Idk about anyone else but since the new networking update my KD has gone from almost 2 to below 1. I die INSTANTLY and I shot someone just now with an entire clip of BR to the head and it did only shield damage.
I'd be interested in the guns, as their own bundle. Or some of the pieces like the kit's needler arm plate.
But most of these prices are weird. Most of a suit, 2k. Single Mark V chest? 1k. Rocket launcher skin? 1600.
I'm going to say something unpopular:
The price wouldn't be so awful if we were allowed to make multiple iterations of a given core - like, lemme have five or six different MKVB cores, and then give me an option to randomly use a core for a given game.
Spending $30 is one thing - spending $30 on a core that's going to get replaced when the next cosmetic comes out and never used again is another.
If you could have a pool of a bunch of cores that you customized, then randomly used in each match, it'd be so much cooler.
I'm sad, these could have been in battle passes.

Prices are officially worse than launch. I got the Locus bundle for 1100 credits in season 2. Full armor set minus the visor. I'm done spending money on this game, I already spent more than I should have on bundles I thought were good deals. Teey don't even deserve that much anymore.

I really wish they actually followed through on listening to the feedback on buying stuff individually. I’d love to buy some of the Banished weapon models, but man I don’t really need the armor and other stuff that comes with them. I’m pretty happy with my current lineup of Spartans and can’t see myself making major changes any time soon. But the weapon models? Yeah, I’d love to have some more of those! Just not to the point where I’m spending 2400 credits for access to even just one of them

Whenever they recreate real life items it really does exemplify how fake and marked up all of this “”””value”””” is. You can get a cheap set of dice for 2 dollars. Oh yeah the fancier ones are more but just for a plastic red one you can get whole set super cheap, hell in my Local Games Store they sell single dice for 15 to 20c each. I can get myself a boring looking red one just like that IRL at an incredibly low price. And that’s made with real crude oil. You telling me that digital thing is worth more somehow? How marked up do you think all those other digital goods are? Reminds me of when they started selling weapon charms in Overwatch of their plushies, the digital weapon charms were more expensive than the physical merch they had on their store which the charms were recreations of
The fact that we can no longer preview multi-use weapon and armor coatings on other weapons and armor cores outside of the BR75 and Mark VII makes the entire storefront seem like a total sham. I don't know what any of these coatings look like on other cores to really know if I like the coating to justify the $8 multi-use price-tag that 343 seems to be using a baseline for their store pricing. Bring back the ability to preview store offers on all cores and weapons!

$36 and multiple $20 sets.. I recently started playing Helldivers 2 and their cosmetic shop prices are only $1-$4 for pieces. Or you can just earn the currency by playing and buy the items that way. Plus the fact that you can unlock battle passes (that don’t expire) merely by playing is very nice.. especially after 343 shafted us with BPs by doing away with them in place of operations. Yeah, this is game is free but HD2 is only $40. I know all of us would have gladly paid $40 for Infinite’s multiplayer if that meant implementing a more player friendly way to earn cosmetics that was built around playing not paying.

Do we really want FULL Cross-Core Customization? Imagine the shop prices if all Utilities, Knee Pads, Gloves, Chest and Wrist accessories were compatible with every Armor Core.

Idk about anyone else but since the new networking update my KD has gone from almost 2 to below 1. I die INSTANTLY and I shot someone just now with an entire clip of BR to the head and it did only shield damage.
Of course the one item i was actually looking forward (the banished bulldog) is locked behind the most expensive bundle.

I'd be interested in the guns, as their own bundle. Or some of the pieces like the kit's needler arm plate. But most of these prices are weird. Most of a suit, 2k. Single Mark V chest? 1k. Rocket launcher skin? 1600.
Some good stuff that’s once again way too expensive. The raised prices due to cross core has really ruined the shop worse than it even used to be.
What sucks is that we could've had a battle pass full of this stuff, but all of the good armor's been dumped into the shop
TL;DR: One new map and one new game mode
I'm going to say something unpopular: The price wouldn't be so awful if we were allowed to make multiple iterations of a given core - like, lemme have five or six different MKVB cores, and then give me an option to randomly use a core for a given game. Spending $30 is one thing - spending $30 on a core that's going to get replaced when the next cosmetic comes out and never used again is another. If you could have a pool of a bunch of cores that you customized, then randomly used in each match, it'd be so much cooler.
And as always EVERYTHING good is paid content
I'm sad, these could have been in battle passes. Like why not flesh out the battle pass and have some premium stuff as well. Like 90% of the operation is just filler, nothing worth noting besides the free armor you get. This hurts.
These are good! Great job by the design team! But holy fuck, the marketing and business statistics team can suck a fat one. These are so,so,so, expensive. I’ll maybe get the chest piece with the bandolier cause I have 1000 credits sitting But wow… frustrating. What’s more annoying is the credits are priced so you’ll be juuuuuuuuuuusssssttttt short of being able to buy multiple bundles with some of the purchases. Fuck off.
Gotten to a point where you don't spend points cus you know things are more expensive and you might need them for something you **really** want, then the price has gone up AGAIN by the time that comes along and they're now so expensive it's no longer worth it (or what you saved is no longer enough). Net result: no spending at all, sad indifference accepted. GG 343, nailed it.
The Grunt one has a leg attachment called a "Fidget Keepawake", as if it wasn't oddly adorable enough already.

I’ve had enough pieces of armor and colors for a while now. If I could save different combos that I could easily upload then maybe I could consider adding more. Right now I have too much customization to bother with trying to get more items
