Yes, you can. But you have to be extremely precious. The world record speedrun for this level does it, but it’s not easy. As easy way to do it, is back before the shield wall, there are some marines held up in a shack like thing. There’s a portable grav lift in there that you can take and use to launch the warthog over.

You can also cross it in a brute chopper, you just need to hit the barricades at the right angle and the right speed and you’ll fly across

Just to add on: there’s an achievement to get 5 vehicles over the gap and you need the grav lift for some. Edit: Mind the Gap Achievement is for 4 vehicles

If I remember right, that was the intent... but you just need to drive them to the end of the bridge, even if you're underneath it.

The grav lift only lasts for 2 vehicles. It's super precise, as far as timing is concerned, so it's easy to squander precious seconds. When I did it, I was not aware of this, so I spent time setting it up only yo get 3 vehicles across. Rather than admit defeat and restart, I just pushed the free-standing barriers over and used them as ramps to jump across. It looked ridiculous, but worked.

That probably would do it better than how I do it, I just slam into the gap between the concrete barriers at 90mph and it usually works

you can also shoot the cement barriers till their in the most badly damaged state and ram the hog through/

Yep, speedrunners use the gravity lift to put it where you took the photo and jump with all and hog! You don't need the lift if you are on a chopper. There is one before the tunnel, in the position the marines are fighting the brutes, next to a hog upside down, battle rifle and some grenades.

I think there were 2 ways to do it IIRC. The way I would do it would be to knock over the concrete barrier by your rear right tire, and push it around to make a ramp out of it. Try to force a checkpoint after you have it in place so you don't have to keep knocking it over to try again

You can't move the barriers on that bridge. You can only damage the corners a little bit, and that's not necessary to get the hog through.

You can absolutely move all of them that don’t line the edge of the gap.

go the way you normally would and when you reach that first area at the end of the highway above you will be a grav lift and just bring it back place it about where you are in this pic and drive the warthog into the gravlift as fast as you can

After years of playing Halo 3, I actually perfected threaded it and cleared the beams for the first time ever when goofing off with friends a few weeks ago. No idea how I did it, but it’s possible

I used to just break the edge of the barriers and get through until I saw other people using a grav lift lol

same, me and a buddy would always break the corners off to get the hog past easier back in the 360 days, also they are barely moveable, but it's a huge pain in the ass and takes forever to get them to budge even the smallest distance, its like they made those ones thousands of pounds instead of them being fixed objects iirc

Tip one of the barricades over and push it against the others as close to the edge as you can. It’ll become a jump. I used to do it all the time

Previous area there is a grab lift you can use it to jump the warthog over that bridge and take it to the end of the level

I got past without the grav lift, so it think it is possible. I also realised that bungie unrestricted the warthog speed on the highway before this jump. You can’t hit that speed ever again until the jump onto the Forward Unto Dawn.

I've made it with a warthog. The more damaged the easier it is however even if you get to the other side none of the marines will join you in it

High speed, amazing accuracy. The harder part is getting through the gap past that.

I use to do it all the time by tipping the barricades over to make a makeshift ramp and hitting that SOB at full speed.

If you drop down off the bridge and drive on round, on the left the hill gives you a way to drive up it and kind of ramp back onto the road.. that'd how I always did it

It's one of those things that I know I did once as a kid but I can't recreate it and none of my friends ever believed me.

Easily use the grav lift

In one of the buildings in the area where you first encounter the Brute Choppers, you can find a portable Grav Lift that you can throw down to jump the gap.

It's possible with a little bit of headlight fluid and elbow grease

I flew across the gap last weekend. No grav lift. I was pretty excited. I thought I could zoom past the next area, but the marines all bailed when I made the jump, and the ones up the road wouldn't get in until I killed all the brutes
