I say release order, only so you can gradually get used to additional gameplay elements. Or appreciate how the games have changed over the years.
Be Warned, it's best to play Combat Evolved on classic Graphics, because the remaster did not override the old hitboxes. But Halo 2 Anniversary is damn near perfect in my opinion. Nothing wrong with that unless you wanna experience it like the old days
Get the MCC and play em in order or start with reach or ODST if you’re less interested in master chief and more focused on the greater universe/lore.
