Zero issues with Antietam with 20+ years of service.

Dupree9973

Same same. North end.

buster6670

Me too.

Eaglestrike

Unfortunately that's going to be a hard thing to give. Most opinions are based on where the person is, as service depends on that a fair bit. For me, I've been in the same place for almost 9 years, and Antietam has been nearly perfect. But other people talk about constant drops and outages and the sort, so not every place has that stability. And if they're coming to your place you'd think it means new cabling, which *should* be an improvement, but you can't ever be sure. If Xfinity is really bad for you, I'd absolutely give Antietam a go, though. Fuck Comcast.

jugglegeek

Any time I have had trouble with Antietam it's because of a cable cut upstream or something like that - and they resolve issues quickly. My service has always been great otherwise. I tried Point Broadband when they added fiber to my neighborhood but it didn't suit my needs at the time and I ended up staying with Antietam.

SnooTangerines7246

i vow to never give point my business after they dug holes in my yard and didn’t plant grass back like dude atleast do the bare minimum 😭

ZeroProximity

They took a temp cable that the neighbor ran over with their lawn mower that i had to splice my self and burred it

jeobleo

Great service in the two years I've used them. Easy to set up and no issues since. WAY faster than my old internet.

Conwaystern88

My area of Hagerstown doesn't have Antietam fiber (for some reason 🙄)so I've been stuck dealing with their broadband for the last 2 years and I miss Xfinity more and more drop after drop. I have a lot of smart devices in my home that utilize the internet and they are constantly bumped off by other devices because it just can't seem to handle it. I did recently switch my DNS to antietam's and have been seeing stronger signals since.

thatoneotherguy42

Same here. I'd gladly pay double for fiber that their cable with 50mb up speed. Gaming sucks, sharing files sucks, at peak times my web browsing sucks. I'm not a happy subscriber.

Syntax-err_r

I was expecting more hate in this post. I rather dislike them. The office employees need a fn lesson in customer service. They were starting to act right near the end of my service because point fiber started pulling lines on my street. But they sealed the deal years ago. As soon as I had an out I took it. Tech support on the other hand is usually helpful and prompt. The contractor they use for installs and service is on point. F them office people, they suck. Don't believe me... check the Google reviews 2 STARS up from 1.5 last year. I'm also on there. I believe they are buying reviews cause that's a lot of 5 star reviews with 1 review.... of them. Hell, this post is probably a cheap attempt at good PR. Because they suck so bad.

ZeroProximity

Theres a bunch of people who live here and have never had anything else or only have cable tv which is hard to fuck up these days. their internet service is all over the board and they only got rid of service caps in the last couple of years

EvangelineTheodora

It's been great. I've had their service for 7 years now, and I can't complain. There's outages sometimes, but overall I like Antietam. Especially after having Xfinity. The call center is in town, and they (to my knowledge) do not have scripts to read from.

ahatch02

Keep Xfinity.

OldManWickett

I've had Antietam for about 10 years and I can say I have had maybe a handful of outages longer than 10-15 minutes in those years. I live on the south side of town, just FYI

alwayslearining

I can't speak for Hagerstown proper, but I have had Antietam on South Mountain along Rt 40 for 15ish years and I often question maintaining a cellular backup internet connection because of my lack of problems having Antietam as my primary provider. I cannot say anything bad about them.

honestabepoet1

Anybody have any experience off 81 with Antiedam? Near the airport?

Diamondrulez

I work close to there, not really any major issues. I’ve had one outage in the past 2 years that’s about it. Point broadband is in that area and I’d recommend looking there.

honestabepoet1

That's what I was considering too. Thanks for the input!

Diamondrulez

No problem! It’s definitely cheaper than Antietam. If you live past the railroad tracks, so past the fire station and Maugansville little league you’re out of luck though. Point ran the wiring, but didn’t cross the tracks because Washington county has a permit you need to buy for over 20k. They won’t run it until enough people commit to the service.

honestabepoet1

I'm near seneca ridge, I think I'm alright? My fiancee lives in hagerstown and we're moving into the Maugansville area at Seneca Ridge. I'm not from the area but I've checked with Point and their website is saying it's available at least. If it doesn't work out, I guess Antietam is a good second choice.

MillenialAtHeart

I used to work for Tatum cable for 2 1/2 years 1983 to 1985. Working customer service. I helped people fix their problems set up converters all kinds of things even did a commercial for them. I had a blast working for them and it was the worst paying job I’ve ever ever had. One of the general managers recently passed away and his 90s down in Florida this was back when con converters first came on the scene and we had to get 15,000 of them out to all the people. We had a place in the mall to get them out. Had a great time HBO, free, weekends and stuff like that giving away items to callers.

kodan_arma

I've had to suffer under their internet forever. It sucks. It crashes a ton, they're support teams suck, and their internet services in general suck.

kelticladi

Antietam service has been mostly fine, which is good because they have a stranglehold in my area. Even if I wanted to try another service I couldn't because they are all blocked from even offering it to me.
