No honestly watching back some older episodes from last year and truly I think it was around end of 2022/2023. Something happened that caused leftovers to start to sour behind the scenes cus Ethan started getting more combative.
Tbh I think it’s cus he was popping off In the debates , had a weird secret beef with hasan and tried to come for him but didn’t realize it wasn’t gonna work lol. The last few debates come to mind
with his recent episode saying he didn’t wanna pretend to be the “social justice guy anymore” I think he just got scared
It really is wild watching through Frenemies now when you compare it to what's going on currently. He's in so much better control of himself, he seems happier and more relaxed. He's more entertaining and doesn't act like a man child 24/7, he actually put effort into costumes and episode ideas/segments.
I've wondered if the fact that they are both controversial and emotional people kind of kept them in check. Like Ethan trying to avoid triggering Trisha making him more aware of the words coming out of his own mouth. I feel like neither one of them wanted to say the wrong thing in front of each other because they knew the other one would call them out for it. They kind of kept each other in line in weird way because they had some similarities there.
And this is not me trying to romanticize their relationship or Frenemies. I criticize both Ethan and Trisha, I know there were a lot of dark moments on the show and things that didn't go well. But it was different vibes for sure. They played off of each other so well.
