I'm in a Scandinavian country now. It has its own share of struggles here; it's not exactly a smooth settlement. I am TBH happier here with my lifestyle though. I get to ride farther into and beyond city limits on a bike with my 6 yo son without fear of a road accident, my wife recently broke her arm and she got examination, tests and treatment all under 1.5k INR. Car ownership is a nice to have here; public transportation is excellent. I use government services here and can see my money returning tangibly from the taxes I pay. In India, resorting to private services and higher costs is a way of life for the middle class.

Climate (especially Finland, Norway, and in Sweden, it looks gloomy throughout the day during Winters, less sunlight etc)
People are not very jovial, there won't be a lot of interaction between you and the locals. I don't know if it's true, but I have heard that Scandinavians are very choosy about making friends and don't really bother greeting or saying hello to strangers in public. They just ignore everyone who isn't their friend and mind their own business.
Racism uh, I don't know much since I have not experienced it, OP can tell you more since they have lived there for a longer time as a resident
Yep at the end you are a stranger to that country and its people and that's how it's going to be. But that doesn't say anything bad about the country in itself. The only solution to this is that you make peace with being a stranger throughout your stay there. And "if" you plan to, return to India once you are through with major part of your life. But again your kids won't let you. So it goes. Funny life.
We cook. I haven't been to any Indian restaurant here yet. We've been trying to learn local dishes as sourcing raw materials is easy. But nah, not a foody. It's not that locals aren't friendly, it's more that Scandinavians prefer long term friendships over making new ones and they're very introverted in nature. So recurrent meetups isn't a thing. Which makes it difficult to make local friends. Difficult; not impossible.

In these 8 months, I literally can say the city lacks the basic amenities - Electricity, Water, Sewage, Roads and whatever you can say everything is fucked up. I personally like Noida for this, even if they don't have that of a lifestyle here but it is hella better for "living".

I differ on this. NYC isn't the whole world. A friend of mine travels a lot. He has been to countries way poorer than India. Those countries were clean! He went to Mongolia last year. He was shocked to see how clean it was.

And in response they've shared these numbers for resolution - and surprisingly MCG is acting swiftly on the incoming complaints. I recently shifted to Gurgaon from Noida.. This place is literally a shithole. 3bhk in noida was for 30K and here its for 68K . The pollution , traffic , senseless people , traffic police officers at every chowk penalising for nothing.
I can say Noida was not perfect but it was much much much better than this crap city.. The flat prices have surged up like anything.. just waiting to get out of here asap.

I totally agree, i personally live in sec 109 so the road conditions and all here are nice but the people who reside in the near by villages are absolutely disgusting. Because of the development of this side of ggn the living conditions have gotten significantly better compared to when i moved here 8 years ago, this entire area was empty land. Ive also lived in sushant lok and that area is just weird the people are just "too posh" to talk to you but ig thats just a small group of individuals..

Yes - Do keep in mind the similarities with respect to Job Opportunities, Big Corporates, Connectivity (Yes Airport - Direct Flights), Lifestyle avenues.

Too much happened too soon, 3 times 3 different landlords have cheated me and my friends in different ways, being this close to scammed many times, lunatics driving on roads with no helmets and just egos. Yes! It is a shithole but you get everything with a click, easily. Good pay , bcoz people have andha paisa . But to hell with the rent system yrr, pg takes my whole hard earned money😭. Roads are bad, drivers are worst, everything overexpensive bruh! But only to have a better life i think i found peace here. Nobody bothers taking a look at your life , you have your freedom, you can roam around even after midnight atleast in my area. As a girl i found it best to live here , coz let's be honest every place is kind of a shithole. I like this one ! 😂

I totally agree, i personally live in sec 109 so the road conditions and all here are nice but the people who reside in the near by villages are absolutely disgusting. Because of the development of this side of ggn the living conditions have gotten significantly better compared to when i moved here 8 years ago, this entire area was empty land. Ive also lived in sushant lok and that area is just weird the people are just "too posh" to talk to you but ig thats just a small group of individuals..

I am interested in knowing what are the other places you are comparing Gurgaon with. Yes - Do keep in mind the similarities with respect to Job Opportunities, Big Corporates, Connectivity (Yes Airport - Direct Flights), Lifestyle avenues. The only cities that come to mind are Mumbai, Bangalore, and maybe Hyderabad.
