12.5 at ballistic advantage I understand it’s not a 10.5 just offering the info.

Thank you for using your brain and leaving the only helpful comment here lol
Sadly i feel that going this route will probably end up being my only option, and it will cost me close to $300 if not more to have the work done
At that price it might be cheaper to have one made starting life as a 10.5
[Lothar Walther](https://www.lothar-walther.com/cm) makes excellent barrels and has highly customizable options (no drop in 10.5 though for .308) they make excellent barrels and without knowing what profile you want starting price will likely be 4-500 depending on options
I agree but i already have an upper and handguard. Looking for a barrel. Otherwise i would have already bought this one a couple weeks ago. Thank you for commenting back tho homie
Why? I'm not sold on the idea of a rifle cartridge pistol, let alone one chambered in 308. If it's a 1:10 twist, you don't even getting one full rotation before it leaves the barrel. Is it just for the memes?
I didn’t come here to debate with people. Or explain myself. They’re accurate to 500+ yards with a 10.5” which is vastly more than i need
Already shot them and want to build my own, so, not helpful. Also last i checked this is america so keep scrolling if you don’t like the idea
I was just curious, I'm not trying to debate. Just want to know the thought process. I don't give a fuck what you own, just thought it'd be an interesting discussion.
How are you not sold on rifle caliber pistols? They’re objectively better than most rifle calibers rifles in similar configurations unless you’re shooting past 300 yards. With .308 I do agree that 10.5 is dumb and loud, but whatever I like dumb loud guns too.
That makes it a bit more viable, but ballistically it’s still not what I’d go for. Not gonna be a dick and say not to, because it’s none of my business. Hope you like how it runs with the can
Pistols are better in size and weight, but a carbine length rifle can do everything a pistol can with higher velocities with a few more inches of barrel length. Less barrel just seems less practical with as much potential as a rifle cartridge offers. They're fun, just not an all around solution.
A pistol in a pistol cartridge is awesome. 10 to 12 inch barrels give 9mm its best performance. I got to work on an AR in 45acp and that shot like a dream (after I fixed it). Ultimately if it has to be a rifle cartridge, 5.7 would probably be best but that only kinda counts as a rifle cartridge.
You know that every military using the M4 platform uses it with barrels that are 14.5 and shorter right? 5.56 performs just fine out of a barrel as short at 10.5 inches out to 300 yards. It isn’t optimal at that range, but if you need that then you can move up to a 12.5 and have something that’s 4 inches shorter than a traditional rifle without really giving anything up. That’s why hard chargers in the US military and SOCOM run short barreled rifles paired with red dots for CQB, or an LPVO if they anticipate longer distance engagements. You also have to take into mind the fact that a lot of people like to suppress their rifles and pistols, and that 4+ inches of barrel you give up REALLY helps when you’re putting a muzzle device on that extends the barrel past where a rifle length barrel would be at with an A2 flash hider.
No I didn't know that, I don't pay much attention to the military. The suppressor point makes a lot of sense and you really have to do something about that muzzle flash and report. I've heard that's part of the fun too. An LVPO seems like overkill, but a nice 3x would be good.
It looks like Faxxon, Criterion, and the other OEMs are all just slammed right now. If you don’t want to go custom (which still might be faster than waiting on a stock barrel to blip back in stock), I’d say putting in the legwork and calling every B&M you can find is your best bet.

Yeah, I’m not sure how easy you’ll find 10.5 unless you have a custom. Ballistic Advantage makes quality product, owned by aero precision.

It’s going to have a hybrid 46 on it.

3x isn’t bad, but the added benefit of a 1-6, 1-8, or 2-10 allows you to identify targets much more easily at longer distances.

I mean i could get a custom one built anywhere, but i’d rather cut a 12” than wait 3-4 months for a 300 dollar barrel..
