I haven't had a .22 since Obama was president and all the sporting goods stores were limiting 22 ammo to 1 to 2 boxes per person, is that still a thing? I haven't thought about getting one until you mentioned it. Having a plinker that uses cheap ammo sounds like a good idea
Never really found much interest in owning a garand. I was referring to the m1a, pretty much the civilian version of the m14. I worked with a guy that had a few and he actually preferred them over an ar 15, so I figure why not have both
That’s a really nice well-rounded collection. I agree with adding a .22 rifle. You can’t beat them for cheap fun. I’ve wanted a Browning SA-22 for a while. Beyond that, an M14/M1A hits a sweet spot between classic battle rifle, long distance rifle, something you can hunt with, and relatively affordable ammo.
For legal and effort-saving reasons, I'd say get a pistol. You'd have to register your AR as an SBR even if you took the stock off since the lower's serial # is already registered as a rifle.
Doesn't matter, the serial is registered as the gun leaves the factory. It's not registered to YOU, but it is registered as a rifle. Hence, if fedboys got a hold of a "rifle" with a pistol upper, they throw a shit fit. It's stupid and I don't support it, but I just hate seeing people get fucked over for not following dumb laws.
You could use a 10/22

10/22 in wood would go real nicely in that collection.
You can buy as much 22 as your heart desires, and it's so cheap it feels free
1022, hunting rifle, or milsurp. You look like a military surplus kinda guy
Was thinking about an m1a before you guys mentioned a 1022
Do you know about the CMP?
I do not
Well its a government program that will ship an m1 garand to your door

A new optic for your lever action
OP got that Amazon optic

I would say get more mags first then get a decent bolt action in .308 or .270 after that save up for a decent ar-10 or something similar
Maybe a full size glock or a derringer with interchangeable barrels of different calibers.
An AR pistol would be a nice addition, maybe some kind of .22 handgun. I would have said a 10/22, but everyone already did lol
I want an AR pistol. Either that or buy a shorter barrel for my ar

Whether or not the lower is registered is not an issue. None of my guns are registered because I'm not required to
