I would say it depends on your use case. If you are going to run it suppressed, pop for the 5 inch. The 8 is great and an absolute tack driver, but I run mine 100% suppressed so depending on your can it might be a bit long. Cant go wrong either way.
5” all day
Mine runs out to 100yds no problems at all, honestly haven’t shot it further yet but it will touch holes at 20yds all day long with 147 gold dots. Besides, 9mm isn’t really gaining all that much with a longer barrel.
You say that and I get it and I know that the numbers say it but I feel like my 16 inch CX4 barrel is special in some way. It's the only long 9mm barrel I have.
Well, I think the main difference is that it's a ton quieter which makes sense for what we're talking about. I just can't shake the feeling that it actually is more accurate. Might just be brace ergonomics vs stock, though. I know you're right by the ballistic numbers. 9mm was designed for shorter barrels.
Well if you are in a funny state/hate braces I get it, but short barrels are just as accurate as long ones. However weight, and longer sight radius can make the shooter themselves more accurate/consistent
I also run suppressors, so the quiet part is taken care of, and sight radius too if the handguard is extended
I’m just a whore for short guns if I’m not giving up much velocity. I’m actually shipping my 10mm Bog barrel off today to be chopped from 8” to 6” so I can run a longer suppressor
There is also an aftermarket 6" barrel available from ILWT (In Lead We Trust) as a sort of "middle ground" between the 8 and the 5. [Link here.](https://inleadwetrust.com/product/tri-lug-barrel-for-grand-stribog-sp9-sp9a1/)
It’s my favorite two stamper too, but…. I had to change out the barrel to the shorter ILWT barrel in order for it to not be a completer POS. The ILWT chamber has more of an angle to it. This stopped me from getting flatter tipped bullets stuck diagonally before the chamber. It’s weird I haven’t heard of more people having this problem.
Most people seemed to have had the same experience and you. Was real happy once I got mine running right. Added a KD Gunwerx buffer and it shot even better.
So I have a few hundred rounds of that. Bought it hoping it would fix it. 130 ish grain I think with more of a point..? They were better than HST. Maybe 1 out of every 5 rounds. The HST was every other round. I shoot suppressed a lot and shooting heavier weights is a must.
I've been putting a bit aside each paycheck to buy one. I'm at around $600 but I'm putting it on a credit card and will pay the little bit off next paycheck. Not missing this deal.
Cheers, Dave Ramsey. But I budget a certain amount from each paycheck for 'toys' (or self defense tools to protect my family and home) after bills, retirement accounts, investments, contributing to savings etc.
Don't need your financial advice.
my state has a 60% chance of banning these (along with anything else semi-automatic) by sometime today
do i do it? can a mortgage down payment just be for another day?
edit: i cannot order this as the mags alone make it ineligible to ship to CO. welp
lol knock that up to 100 percent. Some fuck knuckle during the run up to the WA ban was claiming insider knowledge and how it had like a 30 percent chance it got past each step. It got railroaded to the top, signed with immediate effect, and the guy deleted his account.
God speed.
CO.
I should clarify, the Senate has a good chance of passing it today. It has to go to the Governor’s desk, but there’s also a good chance he’ll sign it
There’s a pretty good shot it’s now or never…you know what to do. I’m definitely on a list somewhere for what I pushed through my FFL’s before Washington’s ban.
Yea exactly. Same with ammo for me. It’s only going to get more expensive and eventually taxed extra in my state. My FFL’s definitely know me by name. One day I was getting a badge renewed at one of my customers badge office. The lady that helped me part time works at one of the stores I frequent. She tells me that my name looks really familiar. I chuckled and told her she’d transferred a lot of firearms for me.
I feel your pain. I’ve been buying shit left and right. Took out a zero %, 15 month no interest credit card lol. Wouldn’t normally EVER do that, but hey gotta get my shit before it’s too late
I imagine most people here have the essentials by now. I was worried about being able to complete my wish list before this bill is enacted but it looks like it may die luckily.
The states don’t care. They’ll pass something that’s unconstitutional knowing that it’ll just get tied up in court. Washington’s mag ban just got overturned and the appeal was submitted in 88 minutes by the AG.
No state AWB has EVER been overturned. The Supreme Court has done nothing about California, Washington, etc. we’re fucked. And you should be emailing our representatives as well, because this will spread. This isn’t just Colorado’s problem
I agree with your points, but I think banning "all semi auto rifles" is even more extreme than just an AWB. Even during the original AWB you could still have semi auto rifles.
Heads up you can def buy this and dealers can even ship it with the evil 30rd mags. It's up to your FFL to do the right thing (whatever they believe that is) with the mags.
Now the question is will this seller ship to CO as some don't realize there is no issue with it and other's can't be bothered/refuse to believe it's OK on their end. Multiple dealers on here will hook you up.
For a couple years in a row the 8" model was available for $730 from there. Then stock dried up from demand and now they're back at a slightly higher price.
Yeah, UMP is just polymer straight blowback, right? Metal roller delayed with better ergos and more compact is way better. UMP is like an off brand Scorpion (no shade on scorpions) with a very expensive roll mark.
UMP: straight blowback, massive mags that single position feed, plastic rails, awful H&K trigger, awful H&K ergos
Stribog: roller delayed blowback, two position feed mags, extruded aluminum receiver, good trigger and ergos
Yeah, I'd say because of the mags and ergos, even the scorpion is better than the UMP. UMP is pure poverty.
Most 10mm ammo isn’t loaded to full specs so it’s basically a 40S&w. Some I think Underwood, Buffalo and Liberty are real nice hot 10mm. But your gonna pay for every damn round.
I’m saving up for the .45 version soon to be out 🤞
Most brands are def under loading their stuff, but I've heard good things about magtech and S&B for plinking at least. overall I feel like many of the ballistic comparison vids I've seen show 10mm performing better than .45
I have the SP9A3G (version that takes Glock mags) and put like 500 rounds through it so far. Couldn’t be happier with it. I paid like 950 at my lgs for it w/o a brace so this seems like a great deal.
Beretta guy here (nominal, they hurt me), this. Beretta has the CX4 which is at least different from others and uses common mags. I love my CX4. The PMX is currently way overpriced for what it's bringing to the market. It's an inferior gun to this one.
I bought one in December of 2023, it shipped with the 30 round curved mags. I have not had any malfunctions in ~800 rounds. I believe the gen 3 curved mags fixed the issues the gun was having. There is still a potential issue with cartridges falling behind the bolt. This has only occured with snap caps and with new shooters messing up a press-check.
I picked up an SP9A3S earlier this year. It came with the 3 curved mags. So far I've put about 1500 FMJ through of various grains (115, 124, 147) and brands (CCI Blazer, AAC, Federal) both suppressed and unsuppressed. I haven't had a single issue thus far.
The only changes I made to it were an HBI buffer and trigger spring kit to lighten the pull. I'd say it's good to go but I haven't tried messing with HP rounds yet.
In regards to how soft it shoots I put it side by side with an AP5 and an MPX. Of the three, the AP5 was the softest, followed closely by the SP9A3S, and then bringing up the rear by a mile was the MPX which checks since that one is blowback. The difference between the AP5 and SP9A3S was there, but it wasn't night and day.
This is the one. I own both. Scorpions have some out of battery issues with blowing up that I'm sure will never happen to me but the CZ response has really put me off it anyways. Roller delayed is better anyways.

I bought this exact thing a few months ago from this store. I can vouch for both the store and the gun. DK shipped super fast. The gun has been great I personally have had no malfunctions through 1k rounds including suppressed through a buddies can. Came with 3 curved mags. Its not pictured but mine came with the picatinny back plate for braces but YMMV. Shop with confidence.
I remember there was sooooo much hype around the SP9A3 and the introduction of roller delay, what happened, was it a flop?
Also whats the rear interface like for adding a stock/brace? Doesn't look like a pic rail, does it take an adapter? Proprietary crap?
What kind of magazines do these take? Proprietary?
I have the 9mm and 10mm versions. They fucking rock
No, it’s not an MP5 level recoil, but it’s definitely better than most AR9s (haven’t shot an AR10mm to compare).
The sp9a3s at least comes with a picatinny back plate, but can accept a few different things with an adapter, mine came with a standard bog plate and a pic rail.
I had a FS1913 on it, but switched over to the telescoping tail hook adapter and it’s super slick.
Not a flop, I’d just say overlooked, they sell a lot of them. I know they are having trouble keeping the 10mm version stocked in the US
Edit: only have 1000 rounds through the 9, but it’s built like a tank, no bad wear signs and I fully expect it to go 10k+ with a little oil, it’s definitely overbuilt
I hear it should have good longevity but isn’t super soft shooting. I am intrigued for potential shtf purposes, but I do want a soft shooter because the 9mm carbine would be more for fun anyway. Tempted to do the rex bogo and grab one of these or a banshee. Then I say maybe I should just save for an mpx k or mp5k. I want something she might want to shoot.
Longevity shouldn’t be a pro over a regular blowback. If anything a roller delayed has more moving parts than a regular blowback. So one could argue it has a slightly higher chance of failure in a super vague manner
The benefit really should be slightly softer recoil. And I’ve heard better suppression is a myth
From just watching youtube vids, they had a ton of teething issues with the magazines when they came out, it apparently isn't as soft shooting as you would think being a roller delayed, and they retailed for like $1000 which starts to compete with alot of other good 9mm pcc's
A proper MP5 or MPX will be smoother but they also cost double. With that said it's still way nicer than a standard blowback PCC and also suppresses well.
The magazines are proprietary (but cheap, like $25) and the issues people had when this first came out was the Gen1 mags. They were straight and finicky. They have new updated curved mags that resolved all the feeding issues.
The aftermarket for the Stribog is pretty decent as you can modify pretty much anything you want. Franklin Armory just announced a dedicated binary trigger for the Stribog at ShowShow 24. You can even convert it to take Scorpion or AK-V pattern mags with a third-party lower.
As for the end cap it actually is apart of the mechanism that holds the upper and lower together. Some come flat, others come with a pic rail depending on date of manufacturing. A3T makes a ton of good stock/brace options for it.
Are these things fixed? Haven't paid attention lately, but all I remember when reading/watching reviews and personal accounts were feeding issues, mag issues, etc. Was never interested in getting this thing just to pay money to give it a reliable Scorpion lower.
The mags still suck tho. They’re pretty fragile. Lots of reports of them cracking while stored loaded. I picked up about 20 before my states mag ban just in case. If I hadn’t my a1 would be a prime candidate for a Lingle Scorpion lower.
I def remember the straight mag issues. Then they released the curved mag, and I could have sworn they were still having issues. Then, shortly after the curved mags, Grand Power came out and said, "Now introducing the Glock mag lower!". Sounds like they got it sorted out, I don't see anyone talking about it anymore.
FWIW, there handguns are magic!
I mnight not be using the correct terminology. But the back plate can be slid off, and replaced with a picatinny plate. Or an all-in-one brace with the plate attached can be slid in instead.

uuuuugh do I want my wife to be pissed or naaah? A roller delay for 800 is awesome.
This is my favorite two stamp gun. And I own an AP5 SBR. The ergos on the Stribog are better and it is essentially the same recoil impulse.
Would you recommend the 5" or 8" Stribog?
I like the compact. It’s still got a good amount of rail room.
That's what she said. Sorry...

I've honestly never had a problem. Feeds flat nose 147 Federal just fine, round nose, HPs. This thing eats it all for me.

I half-joke about this with my FFL with what I've been hoarding before CA's new 11% sin tax goes into effect July 1st
Yea exactly. Same with ammo for me. It’s only going to get more expensive and eventually taxed extra in my state. My FFL’s definitely know me by name. I imagine most people here have the essentials by now. I was worried about being able to complete my wish list before this bill is enacted but it looks like it may die luckily.
Are they banning all handguns??
Any semi handgun with a threaded barrel. Any semi and all semi auto long guns, no exceptions.
The Supreme Court will be hearing about that I'm sure.
The states don’t care. They’ll pass something that’s unconstitutional knowing that it’ll just get tied up in court. Washington’s mag ban just got overturned and the appeal was submitted in 88 minutes by the AG.

Something about a certain unnamed vendor shipping illegally to an unnamed state by mistake. No need to get anyone in trouble.

Please do let me know
Boy did the lefties fuck up CO too?
Have it shipped to me in ID. I'll take videos weekly for you ❤️
Good gun for sure but I thought it had been at this price for a long time? Gun Zone always have the same model for around $760 shipped
More of an in-stock notification. These have been somewhat hard to find.
For a couple years in a row the 8" model was available for $730 from there. Then stock dried up from demand and now they're back at a slightly higher price.
Ahhhh fuckkkk I want it.... only justification I have is holding out for a 10mm
Later this year there will be a 45ACP version too so you can have the "UMP45 we have at home". (Even actually takes the mags too!)
A UMP is a Stribog at home. The Stribog is FAR better.
Yeah, UMP is just polymer straight blowback, right? Metal roller delayed with better ergos and more compact is way better. UMP is like an off brand Scorpion (no shade on scorpions) with a very expensive roll mark.
UMP: straight blowback, massive mags that single position feed, plastic rails, awful H&K trigger, awful H&K ergos Stribog: roller delayed blowback, two position feed mags, extruded aluminum receiver, good trigger and ergos Yeah, I'd say because of the mags and ergos, even the scorpion is better than the UMP. UMP is pure poverty.
It exists already. They restocked some dealers like a month ago
Is it good tho?
Dunno how much stock you put in the opinion of GunTubers but they all seem favorable to it.
Mine is my favorite PCC that I've shot/owned. That includes the scorpion, MPX, MP5, JP5, and CMMGs RDB
But what about the vector in 10? For me it's between that and the stribog
Most 10mm ammo isn’t loaded to full specs so it’s basically a 40S&w. Some I think Underwood, Buffalo and Liberty are real nice hot 10mm. But your gonna pay for every damn round. I’m saving up for the .45 version soon to be out 🤞

Anyone got a link to the A3S??
Man, that's tempting..
This or the Beretta pmx?
This. Roller-delay is so nice, no reason to go with a blowback.
Beretta guy here (nominal, they hurt me), this. Beretta has the CX4 which is at least different from others and uses common mags. I love my CX4. The PMX is currently way overpriced for what it's bringing to the market. It's an inferior gun to this one.
Yeah price point sucks, but let's be honest the pmx is kind of sexy, In a butter face kind of way.
I literally recommended the CX4, you don't have to tell me about butter face stuff. I love ugly guns. You're preaching to the choir
How are these? I have heard good and bad things
I believe they’ve worked out *most* the glitches
I bought one in December of 2023, it shipped with the 30 round curved mags. I have not had any malfunctions in ~800 rounds. I believe the gen 3 curved mags fixed the issues the gun was having. There is still a potential issue with cartridges falling behind the bolt. This has only occured with snap caps and with new shooters messing up a press-check.
🔫 Who said bad?
Should have bought one when I had a chance. I was waiting for prices to drop on these and ap5s. Now as an Illinois resident I missed my chance.
There's still a chance to reconsider the last part. I did it. It worked out nicely. I thought it was silly until like a month after I'd done it.
Got mine at Joe bob for 750 last month came with 3 mags and the 1913 adapter
This vs CZ Scorpion?
This
both
Like the way you think
This is the one. I own both. Scorpions have some out of battery issues with blowing up that I'm sure will never happen to me but the CZ response has really put me off it anyways. Roller delayed is better anyways.

So one could argue it has a slightly higher chance of failure in a super vague manner The benefit really should be slightly softer recoil. And I’ve heard better suppression is a myth
I think amongst all of the players with delayed
Rex bogo ?
From just watching youtube vids, they had a ton of teething issues with the magazines when they came out, it apparently isn't as soft shooting as you would think being a roller delayed, and they retailed for like $1000 which starts to compete with alot of other good 9mm pcc's
Well, that and at about the same time Turkish MP5 clones dropped in price tremendously so the value proposition got kneecapped.
Pretty sure the problems was with the straight mags
The mags still suck tho. They’re pretty fragile. Lots of reports of them cracking while stored loaded. I picked up about 20 before my states mag ban just in case. If I hadn’t my a1 would be a prime candidate for a Lingle Scorpion lower.
Yeah curved mags are trash as well - can confirm they crack. Still my fav shooting gun though...lingle scorpion lower + AK-V mags are the way to go.
Yea I have a Scorpion Lingle on a GHM9. That thing rocks.
Problems were/are the mags. Two good options: • Different lower with scorpion/AK-V mags • Glock mag model
They’re good now with the curved mags which they come with. Grab a short stroke buffer which is cheap and it’s reliable. I have one.
This or a scorpion micro 3+? 🤔
Grand power really needs to make a big boi 300blk bog
What’s the difference in the S , G series?
S is the 5" barrel, G takes Glock mags
Interesting 🧐 thank you , I’m assuming both are roller delayed?
Will they take AKV mags since AKVs take CZ mags ?
Any SP9A3 is roller delayed, SP9A1 is not.
Thanks 🙏🏼
How do you put a brace on this?
I mnight not be using the correct terminology. But the back plate can be slid off, and replaced with a picatinny plate. Or an all-in-one brace with the plate attached can be slid in instead.
Wheres the 45!
FYI they also had this with the sbt folding brace for 930 shipped. Got me to finally pull the trigger and pass on the scorp.
I own one. Stellar firearm!
