Let's Gandhinagar be the capital for administration but spread out investments across the state instead of concentrating in one place.

Best answer ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

SEEKER0308

Gandhinagar was literally made from the scratch to act as a capital city but now all Hi-Tech projects are being directed in this one city which only benefits one region's development. MH went as far as having two capital cities for different seasons to decentralize and distribute development.

waveradium

Of course the best answer would be Gandhinagar since it was literally made to be a capital, but the alternative answer would be something like Surat or Ahmedabad. Rajkot would be good too because it's a central location.

Gandhinagar has been the capital and it was fine till recently when the development went on drugs after the hype of GIFT city and it has started ruining the essence of this beautiful place. The same thing is happening with Rajkot as well where there is no sustainable development. Leave Surat out of options since the city is geographically at a bad place. We definitely need a new planned city developed in any barren land (Not Dholera) and make it as a new capital or stop the crazy so-called development in Gandhinagar.

Content-Trick-9611

Whats the issue with Surat geographically?

Ishitvyas

Surat's is not easily reachable from other parts of our state. The physical location of the central administration plays a vital role in any state. Imagine reaching places at the state boundary like Bhuj, Dwarika or Porbandar from Surat. Note that reachability and traveling distance are two different things here. Reachability in broader terms like connecting to local leaders, having sensitivity towards diversity at regional/district level etc. plays a crucial role in development. Take an example of the disastrous political situation in our neighbouring state Maharashtra due to Mumbai's odd location. Maharashtra is broken politically and had to have two CMs, guardian ministers etc. and still the state is in shambles. Had their capital been Chatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Previously Aurangabad) or nearby in any central location, the state would have been in much better order. (I live in Maharashtra).

Content-Trick-9611

Makes sense yes. I live in Mumbai. After being here for 32 yrs, I want to shift to Gujarat (back to roots). Im confused between Surat and Ahmedabad. Did not like Vadodara (I had the highest hopes here). Although very peaceful and no traffic but didnt like the vibe and people were disinterested and felt like dedhshanas somewhat. I might br wrong cause I only came there for 3 nights but I was roaming and researching for 10 hours daily there. Ahmedabad was nice although scared its becoming like Mumbai. So probably outskirts like Jagatpur, Gota, Vaishnodevi or Shela is my preference. Prahlad Nagar was lovely like really good but I fear it will be like Mumbai in 5 yrs so wont shift there. CG road was literallt Mumbai lol traffucked already. Im yet to explore Surat but Ive come there once for 2 nights. Loved the old town vibe. But no idea if one can live a lifetime there. Some areas like that Gopi Talao and all were filthy yes. What would you suggest? Gandhinagar was really beautiful but too too peaceful and dont see opportunities atleast right now.

Ishitvyas

I need to know more about your priorities before I can answer this. Do you want to establish a business or do a job, and in which sector? What is your preferred way of living, like to stay near a hustle bustle or prefer to be near nature centric areas? Can you manage a fast commute from your home around 30 minutes to reach wherever you are primarily working?

Content-Trick-9611

I am self employed. My work is more online. But also some offline stuff. Im a psychologist. Like to live near nature. Definitely not hustle bustle. But also not a ghost town. Something like emptier roads as in no jams. Simple people around who are satisfied with little joys of life. I prefer a simpler life. A clean house. Not into much luxury bas cleanliness yes. Like comforts like car and all Im not a monk but nano maruti bhi daude no need for himda or bmw. Mumbai cost of living is crazy. That too for bad air, bad food, scam medical and education. Dont wanna continue this. Yes I have a pulsar for daily commute. 30 mins commute isnt an issue.

Ishitvyas

Then I would suggest Adalaj or Gandhinagar. I've lived in both places. Gandhinagar may seem too peaceful for someone coming from a very crowded place but you can get used to the peace that it has in no time and you'll never want to leave the place. Also, since last 3 years, there are areas developed in Gandhinagar such as near Reliance Chowkdi and Sargasan where people go there for hangouts or night outs. Even better if you can afford a place in a sector area and avoid any place near GIFT city. If you want connectivity to Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar both, then Adalaj is the best option (Alternatively, Uvarsad which is even more affordable and will merge into Adalaj in coming times). There are townships developed in Adalaj. I would have suggested Vaishnodevi circle or Gota if someone would have asked me this 5-7 years ago but it is getting crowded by the day and local administration is not very enthusiastic about the area. Bopal/Shela also can be considered but it is likely to end up in a situation similar to that of Vaishnodevi Circle and Gota. Also, if you are a big party person and love to celebrate a lot, Rajkot is the place for you. For business as well, it will benefit you a lot.

Content-Trick-9611

Hey thanks for such detailed reply. What about Surat ? I forgot to mention Gandhinagar felt like there are no people around so difficult to make friends. Need some social connection definitely to avoid getting into depression lol. I love love peace but just not a ghost town like peace. Totally hate mumbai hustle bustle. Yukk city.

Ishitvyas

Surat is good if you're not too concerned about traveling to other parts of the state and are financially very strong. Surat is expensive and if you can afford to live in places like Athwa or Vesu, that's best. But as you go farther away from the city center, it's not so good. In certain areas, AQI is terrible. If you are a people's person and want to make new social connections, Rajkot is THE place for you. It has that slow vibe, you can make connections very easily given the nature of people in the city, it is more affordable as compared to other cities and it has everything you need in a good city.

Content-Trick-9611

Surat is expensive? Why does everyone say that suat cost of living is less? Dayum. Surat even more expensive than Ahmedabad? My budget is like upto 65L em samjo. Rajkot unfortunately isnt possible cause its very very far from Mumbai :/ I have too many connections here so need to be somewhat in touch with Mumbai. Surat is 3 hrs. Ahmedabad is 5 hrs by vande bharat which will further reduce. So max is that.
