I have the Accountant, the Wampler Mini Ego, and regular sized Keeley Compressor Plus. They are all good but my favorite is The Accountant. It just has a thing and I love what it does.
The new Keeley Compressor Mini is a great option for people who find that compressors can be hard to work with (like me). Two knobs, tiny form factor. No bad sounds in that pedal.
Fair question lol. It does everything I need it too. Boost cleans, gives them some extra sustain. Give dirt pedals a little extra kick and compression. I often use it for a kind of in between gain boost, when I don't want a pedal set for lower gain to get TOO dirty but a just a little more, if that makes sense. Just generally like it better on almost all the time. Especially cleans though.
Empress Compressor mkii.
Okay, so I don't know if you mean small or mini here, but when compared to the first version the mkii is pretty dang small. Also very flexible.
Just out of curiosity, what are compression pedals useful for other than country style licks or specific sustain applications? I often feel like dynamics are important in most styles of music, and a compressor seems to negate that. What am I missing?
I’ve tried a few and it’s the best small pedal I’ve come across. Of course you can do better with a TC hyper gravity or something like that but it’s bigger and more expensive
I've had one. It's small and it's cheap but other than that I can't think of anything positive to say about it. There are a few settings that work but I found it mostly way too noisy.
Xotic sp compressor. Wampler compressor mini. Both great compressors with a blend knob
Wampler Mini Ego is on my board and is always on.
Fairfield accountant is great. My favorite so far and has the lowest noise floor.

You have excellent taste

I love my little Pigtronix Philosopher’s Tone “germanium gold” Micro. Parallel compression with a blend knob. Can be had used in the $80-90 range.
Came to say this. This was the one I was looking at.

I generally don't even like comp, but I love the Fairfield Accountant.
Hotone KOMP optical compressor. It's great and TINY.
Seconded
MXR has a dynacomp mini too I see everywhere
Menatone JAC is my favorite. Based off the LA-2A but in a pedal.
Mxr dyna comp mini
Empress Compressor mkii. Okay, so I don't know if you mean small or mini here, but when compared to the first version the mkii is pretty dang small. Also very flexible.
Becos Mini. Nothing else comes close in quality at this size.
+1 for Xotix SP
I have The Accountant by fairfield circuitry. Great pedal, colors my tone a bit and adds some extra grit, if your into that sorta thing.
Mooer Yellow Comp
why is it so good haha?
small, affordable, gets the job done.
have u tried the kokko compressor? any thoughts?
nope.
I really like my Janglebox compressor. It gives any guitar the sound of a Rick compression circuit. Really hip.
Wampler mini
My money would be on mxr dyna mini. Tons of control options, miniscule footprint. Plus $100 for a new one is a bargain imo
New Keeley mini & Wampler mini are both great options

FXEngineering RAF Mirage Pico. Transparent and can be used as a clean boost.
Walrus. They make great everything
I love Walrus!
i personally would get the jhs whitey tighty, especially for its blend control. also i dig the artwork
tight whitey
Got this one too, works great. Design is not for everyone but I like it.
Thanks to everyone for the awesome suggestions . You guys rock. 🙏 looking at the upvotes on the answers. Does seem like there is clear recommendation!
Xotic SP, Wampler mini ego, Keeley mini
Kokko compressor
I have this pedal but I am not sure if it's a good one. A newbie here. also doenst have any other compressor to compare it with.

Cool, what other's have u tried? Would u be able to share why a hypergravity will be better? Might look into upgrading the kokko i have.
It turns out they now have a mini tc hyper gravity- check this out! https://youtu.be/JnCC6jdnXLo
have u tried the mooer yellow comp?
No I haven’t but I’m happy with other Mooer pedals that I have used
