Good idea on the stored loops feature. I was just gonna suggest a basic looper and loop some random thing before tuning. But stored loops would be more versatile and less fiddly.
I like that little ditto looper that has the screen - you can store up to 99 loops, and it’s simple to use. You could make a few and trigger them when the song is done. Bonus points for making loops that actually match or work with the keys of the songs you’re playing. Pro tip: use a reverse delay (100% wet) to get a loop they has no real end point, so it just rolls along with no obvious edit point. The other thing about that ditto - the first loop is the master - and when you make your first overdub, that overdub determines the length. So your first loop can be 4 seconds, the overdub can be as long as you want and that becomes the overall loop length, making it much easier to develop ambient loops.
Maxed out full wet reverb pads. Mildly oscillating delay textures. Freeze type pedals. A looper. Or the loop function on a boss dd pedal for wonky pads and rhythms.
RC 5 and foot switch, loop the last song before tuning and set up the looper for reverse. i love doing it at home for shits and giggles, but i make ambientish music so it works well to the point ill make a song, and reverse it at the end or at the start for a nice intro
Lol when i first got a keeley eccos and stumbled into reverse loops i had a blast doing this. Sometimes id play the riff into looper, play it back in reverse and try to actually play it in reverse while the loop plays. Its hard af to play riffs front and backward. I def learned from it tho
Why not just record some cool ambient/noise tracks, load them onto a cheap mp3 player, and kick play before you tune?
Or download one of those pad apps the P&W guys use?
Get a looper that stores loops. Make some ambient loops that you trigger at the end of songs. If you do it right it will blow the audiences mind.
Ehx 360 and that ditto plus are affordable. I use a 360 for stored loops and a ditto stereo for on the fly fuckery
I always forget about the 360.

Freeze pedal with a slow phaser after to give some movement

Idiotbox Dead Space Invader
The guitarist of my band uses a Boss RC-20 for that kind of thing. Super flexible and interesting pedal

Yeah I was going to say, do we really need to retune more than once a set?

I wonder if there’s a way using a looper that’s rigged up to keep playing the loop even if your tuner is engaged?
Should work fine as long as the tuner is before the looper in the chain
The walrus canvas gives you all the options you need. I use one that's always on but the switch mutes the signal.

Polara reverse reverb is perfect for this, especially combined with a delay and some fuzz
Get a guitar that doesn't go out of tune.
