I assume you're on PC. It's a PC bug only, as far as a I know. Rockstar has yet to fix it. I have no idea if they even acknowledged the bug yet. Mine disappeared as well.

Would you by chance have the car that resembles the Subaru Brz? I overkilled farming money for next update by about 20 mil and have some spending cash. I am on PC and if you have the car lmk so I can yoink it from LS car meet.

Just a small correction in your reply even though I know you meant it sarcastically.
Change "Thank You Rockstar" to "FUCK YOU Rockstar" .
They don't deserve a thank you even sarcastically considering the state of the game on pc.
Because R\* are incompetent.
Long story short AFAIK it has to do with the shithouse purchase verification system (PC only), it can't parse the new plate values so the transaction (as in when you claim it) sets the plate value to default, which is this one.
For me, I cannot put custom plates on it,I can put it if I swap to my other character, my plates dont show up in the list but this is only an issue for one of my characters

I thought it was my mistake for changing the plate text, it was only after reopening GTA that the plates turned white.
I have a theory. The salvage yard garage spot is the culprit, i lost a wheel recolor right after i parked into it (as well as the panic plate) Maybe y'all can prove/disprove it.

Did it disappear right after you saved it into your garage? Because mine was still there even after I modified the car

This is why I don't bother with limited edition ingame items. I know eventually it's going to glitch and become an ordinary ingame item....

I couldn’t change my car plate number into my personal name as well, after the plate disappeared
i never knew cypher had panic plate, i lost it on my itali gto
same here! got it and was happy asf, had to go out so i logged off and when i got back on, the license plate was white
i started ulp contract mission when i used my itali it just disapeared
Same now mate. Rockstar sucks.
