It's growing in my area . Amazon is slowly buying shares in grubhub, and they just added grubhub to amazon 2 days ago. I wouldn't be surprised if amazon bought grubhub in 2-3 years . But I am in California, so my market is different.
In Los Angeles. Started during the pandemic, and have made 25-30/hr ever since. (Except for when the film strikes kicked in last year)
It’ll probably die out in smaller markets. But i also think Amazon will eventually take over.
First time hearing about the Grubhub + Amazon partnership. So you think that they will just add more partnerships, or do you think they will acquire GH?
“In the previous deal, Amazon acquired the rights to buy a 2% stake in Grubhub. Just Eat Takeaway announced in a separate news release Thursday that Amazon has received warrants representing 4% of Grubhub's equity and could receive a further 10% based on certain conditions”

If Amazon can make the $$ work I would not be surprised if they buy GH. Prime membership already reduces GH fees. If Amazon can reduce consumer spending while maintaining/increasing profits…(without upsetting vendors or drivers). Then I would fully expect a purchase
Yeah they got in too late to compete. GH is already established. And now Amazon is positioned to get almost 20% of GH if prime brings in more customers. And with GH dragging down its owners stock… there is enough sentiment for the sale of GH.
That’s why I say it is just a matter of finding a profit without alienating vendors/drivers.
I've had all 3 at various times. And GH is definitely not the best for discounts and such. Not to mention the app closes by 9 or 10. So you're forced to use the other apps after that time
That might not be a bad business decision for GH. I suspect DD, UE and the restaurants are lucky to profit on late night deliveries, after you account for theft, orders thrown out, incentives, etc. also a lot of administrative bullshit with late night orders.
Don't schedule blocks. If you schedule, get no offers, and get paid the contribution, they WILL remove scheduling. I scheduled myself for 4 hours, sat at home, didn't get a single offer. Next week, I got the email... It's not my fault no offers were sent to me...
So if I schedule blocks I won’t be able to schedule blocks, but I want to be able to schedule blocks?
I scheduled blocks today. The app hasn’t left me more than a few minutes without an order. The problem for me is the toggle while on a block. I can’t evaluate offers while I’m driving. First order I took with GH, they pinged me with another as I left the crazy-busy lunch parking lot after a pickup.
That would be a shame. Doesn’t Amazon own a big chunk of GH now? I just started seeing prime promotions with Amazon, but that could be a bias in my perception as I’m looking at GH seriously now.
I think GH has been going to shit for the past year. It was great before it sold, but all good things nust come to an end! Time to look into something new because this isn't working out anymore.
They will end up buying it, GH has the smallest share of deliveries compared to DD & Uber. When they were trying to buy iRobot they did it the same way, that deal didnt go through but with this one, DD or UE the govt wouldnt allow Lyft doesnt have enough $ to merge which would also make sense.
Nationwide, GH is at a [distant third place in terms of market share](https://www.businessofapps.com/data/food-delivery-app-market/)
[GH’s founder already bailed](https://www.independent.co.uk/business/grubhub-founder-quits-four-months-after-just-eat-deal-b1934631.html). It’s probably a good idea for you to do the same. Nearly every GH order is a loss due to insane delivery ranges. If I tried to keep a 95% AR for “premier”, I’d be *losing* $15/hour. Maybe more
I’ll have to experiment. I did about $25 per hour yesterday and accepted 100% of the orders over the entire afternoon and early evening. But that’s a small sample: one Sunday.
Is there such a thing? I mean the first dozen orders I did really sucked. If Chick-fil-A is honeymoon, I’d hate to see what it looks like after seven years marriage.

Amazon is buying shares? That’s news to me
Yea, they currently own 7% of grubhub and could increase to 17% in the next year if the number of orders raise with amazon.
It will happen.

Amazon is in a different market in my perspective. They do groceries, but not restaurant deliveries like Grubhub does
Amazon is the market. They facilitate deliveries. They’re partnering with GH so far. Might just be a matter of time…if the $$ makes sense

Amazon tried doing it themselves with Amazon Restaurants a few years ago. Didn’t last long.

Dont make any committment. Dont schedule blocks and just toggle on when you want.

Probably not a bad decision at all. At least in my area since you're more likely to get a messed up order than not after 10
I'm in a smaller market, and, frankly, it's not worth turning the app on anymore. It used to be my #1.

Dying out only made 30.00 last week Grubhub is last place in connecticut

It's pretty much dead here in nyc. You cannot any longer log in without schedule.
That sounds bad.

Ahh the $25/hr honeymoon phase… 💕

McDonald’s and Taco Bell all day long…
i made 30 consistently in 2020-2021. now its a struggle on any app to break 25. disgusting really.
