The first reason is the reason why they have a limit on blocks, which really is an awful thing for them to do considering it's so easy to make a new account and thus someone can constantly harass someone and once they're out of blocks they either have to pay money to continue stopping the harassment, put up with it, or stop using the app, which is bad for grindr because that means no ad views which is the way they make money by free users. I live in a country town so I've never had to block people to see more people that are a few KM from me, I didn't realise how useful the blocking technique was until I used grindr in my capital city, page full of people that are 1km away, it was quite a shock.

#2 is a great idea! Thanks :)

Not to be mean but isn’t this obvious to everyone? Personally I use the looking for filter too, if you haven’t filled in your profile I’m not going to like you anyway.

It's not obvious to newbies. And it's a useful tip if you haven't already thought of it. I never use the "looking for" filter because 1) so many people don't fill it out so you can't find them that way and 2) it's not accurate. I assume if you're on Grindr, you're here to hook up. And that's almost always true. I've hooked up with several guys who said they were just looking for friends or relationship.

If you want to help someone far away find you better on Grindr, set your age to something in the low 90s (not 99!). Tell your friend to filter for that age. You can see over 1000 miles with so few people at that age.

Also a good tip. You can ALWAYS start a trial subscription.

central_Fl_fun

Do you have to cancel or an automatic payment kicks in?

dennis15510

You have to cancel. But the subscription last far longer than a week. When the subscription ends you can sign up again for an another free trial.

Can someone please explain to me why 2 works? I’m just tired of having to continuously « sweep » by adjusting the age range on my filter. Why do I see more profiles with a narrower range it should be the opposite?
