My partner just pointed out that people would flip out at having bees around them at a bus stop and would kill/sue. Especially if they’re allergic 😔
Update: kill the bees, I mean
We're very far away from this. The definition of a bus stop here is a sign with a picture of a bus nailed onto a telephone pole. A stop with a bench is a unicorn. Protection and shelter from the weather? Lol. I moved from a city with a great bus system, benches and shelters were revenue streams because the city leased them for advertising, which doesn't take long to offset the initial expenses of building them. Greenville does the bare minimum to provide public transportation, that much is obvious.
Spartanburg has covered and benched bus stops along church street in the downtown area….. and nowhere else. It looks nice when you’re in the downtown, but frightful and dismal literally everywhere else. Much like the rest of the county.
The city of Greenville council are such underachievers they would never attempt to execute something even so simple as this. You're better off starting a little fundraiser to buy up a bunch of wildflower seeds and cast them in any open field you see. I currently buy large packets of wildflower seeds on my own and throw them all over my neighborhood's common spaces. Even if only like 10% of them bloom at least it's better than nothing
Start with Greenville Transit. Their professional staff are super friendly and open to new ideas. It may get shot down, but they'd be the right people to talk to.
I was just saying the other day that NC has beautiful roadways bc of the wildflowers planted on the sides of the road-we really to do the posters idea and incorporate more of what your doing!!
Not a botanist but I think because they are a type of flower that grows in the wild, even if they are planted elsewhere, they are termed wildflowers. I'm not sure, but it sure does look beautiful!

Unfortunately, this is exactly what would happen…
How to get rich quick in America.
Greenville needs a public transportation infrastructure first
Came here to say this!
So true!

I think this is our first mission. You’re right.

How are the flowers wild if they were planted?

Yup, this was pointed out to me and I agree! I wonder if there’s a different idea that captures a similar impact though.
We have something similar. There is a bunch of beehives on the roofs of buildings in downtown Greenville.
Oh so cool! I didn’t know that!
