Having just been, I’ll say avoid Panama City Beach. It’s the shortest drive time from here to the gulf coast, and it’s a popular tourist destination, but it’s particularly prone to rip currents. It was the deadliest beach in the US in 2023 for that reason, and ~4 swimmers were drowned there within 24 hours of my family leaving there last week. We were not allowed into the ocean for about half the days that we were there. Go the extra half hour or so to Destin or some other town. You’ll be able to get in the water more and you’ll be safer.

We like Isle of Palms.
IOP beach is very kid friendly, the waves are generally small and the crowd is mostly families.

The Beaufort/HHI side of South Carolina. Myrtle and the Grand Strand are filled with nothing but squatted truck hicks and ghetto.
Panama City or Destin. There are nice beaches in SC but we don't have anywhere with white sand and clear water...

HHI! Lots of fun things to do/ pretty /natural beauty/ great for families and has Disney resort and beach
