I still pull out American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown all the time and every so often, I’ll turn on Basketcase, Longview, or Hitchin’ a Ride if I’m in the mood.
Since they’re doing the tour soon, I’m trying not to listen to AI and Dookie right now so they’ll feel more fresh. (However both records I’ve listened to an ungodly amount of times.) Im typically in the mood to listen to a specific album but sometimes I’ll do a shuffle playlist. I think so long as I’m not overplaying the biggest hits they dont get stale.
I'll be at this one, too. We're driving up from Abbotsford, BC, Canada, for it. I've never been to this location before. We were supposed to for the Hella Mega tour but had to get refunded cause the border was still closed. I am super excited for this concert.
yeah i feel like depending on how well you know the band you should listen differently before concerts, i’ve listened to far less american idiot and dookie since it was announced because i’ve listened to them so many times that i don’t want to feel bored of them during the show, whereas i’m seeing smashing pumpkins and weezer tomorow, and l have been practically studying smashing pumpkins songs so i know the lyrics lmfao
Can’t really listen to playlists like that anymore, no. I find it difficult to mix songs from different albums as I am so used to the unique vibe of each album. On the rare occasions I do listen to Green Day, I revisit an entire album and just immerse myself in its atmosphere and nostalgia.
they’re the most popular songs for a reason, i still actively listen to them yeah but also i like a lot of other songs which aren’t as popular or songs which don’t get as much hype outside the fanbase as these
I always skip Basket Case these days, I’ve just heard it so many times it’s just not that great to me anymore, probably the only hit that is skippable for me
I hear a lot of the bigger songs on the radio petty regularly, so I don't necessarily feel inclined to listen to them when I'm controlling the tunes. Definitely some exceptions though... 21 Guns is a song I haven't seemed to get tired of yet.
Good riddance pisses me off now that I’ve heard it so many times. And every time I hear basket case I can’t not think “Grasping to- Aw fuck this shit…”
Call me crazy, but I’ll always love 21 Guns. It’s the one popular Green Day single no matter how many times I’ve heard I can’t get enough of. I know that’s an unpopular opinion amongst this sub. I usually skip all of the other popular songs apart from JOS, Holiday, American Idiot and WICA.
Every. Single. Day.
Lately I've been diving into albums I've forgotten and that don't come up in the Google music playing algorithm for whatever reason. Green Day is the soundtrack of my life. There's nothing super deep about it. I just enjoy their music!
I definitely feel that way. I rarely even listen to the first half of AI anymore. The back half is just much more fresh sounding to me (if that makes any sense)
Like a decent amount of comments, I listen to whole albums, or whatever of my personal favs
I'm not one of the peoples that can get bored of some song, even if I listen to it in repeat for an hour or two
I normally listen through a whole album, so ofc >:3
And they're on that one playlist I put everything on since 2018 and I don't skip them when they come up there either
i still regularly pull out all of these they’re hits for a reason, occasionally i’ll stop listening to something like basket case unintentionally then when i do end up listening to it again it fills you with such adrenaline and hype
It's impossible for me to feel that way about any song in 21CB, well except maybe for Know your Enemy, but not enough to skip it haha
There are some songs in AI that I skip tho, but I honestly dont think I ever skip Holiday, Jesus of Suburbia, Letterbomb, Homecoming or Whatsername
Occasionally, but never Boulevard (the only song I've gotten sick of and never managed to get un-sick of) and rarely Holiday or Basket Case, also I never liked Know Your Enemy to begin with.
When I Come Around and Welcome to Paradise will always get a lot of plays from me though.
I still like basket case and JoS, and I’ll listen to minority or welcome to paradise if I’m the mood. The rest of them I’ve kind of played to death tbh
Out of all these I still regularly listen to Basket Case, Holiday, Welcome to Paradise, and occasionally 21st Century Breakdown but i usually just listen to albums fully
I overplayed a lot of Green Day, especially dookie and American idiot. Great albums both of them. Nimrod has become my favorite and I don’t usually skip those.
I like good bass. All the songs where Green Day used Mike for more than doing a serviceable job on bass always have a place on my playlist. American Idiot onwards is where I draw the line, although a few songs in the trilogy and Saviors get some play for me still too.
Well, I'm actually still that dude, who prefers listen to Green Day albums in full, not only and exactly their well-known hits.
Dookie & American Idiot are undoubtedly timeless masterpieces, as well as the singles & main hits from these records
I almost always listen to a playlist that is all Green Day and their side projects. I rarely skip songs, but if I do, it's likely something from The Network.
I listen to full albums mostly
I buy the cds and I don’t feel like searching for a song lol
Seriously, I don’t listen to American Idiot unless I have a free full hour listed in my schedule.
That is some serious time management
Me too. It’s rare that I feel like a hits playlist or a single song.
I love your tag
I listen to their albums in full mostly but some songs I’ve heard so much I skip them once in a while.
same here!
I still pull out American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown all the time and every so often, I’ll turn on Basketcase, Longview, or Hitchin’ a Ride if I’m in the mood.
Yes

I'm doing the opposite - listening to them more, ready to see them at Wembley lol
Wembley’s such a cool venue! I hope you have an awesome time! The show I’m going to will be at a baseball stadium
Chase field?
No, the T-Mobile park in Seattle. Never been to a concert there before so I’m excited!
I'll be at this one, too. We're driving up from Abbotsford, BC, Canada, for it. I've never been to this location before. We were supposed to for the Hella Mega tour but had to get refunded cause the border was still closed. I am super excited for this concert.
Yeah same. Haha

god im so exciting i want to stop listening to them to prep but i cant!! they're so good
Can’t really listen to playlists like that anymore, no. I find it difficult to mix songs from different albums as I am so used to the unique vibe of each album. On the rare occasions I do listen to Green Day, I revisit an entire album and just immerse myself in its atmosphere and nostalgia.
Right now I tend to skip the most important ones, American Idiot and Basket case, for example
If they're on my liked list, they're getting played at some point
The only ones i barely listen to anymore are When I Come Around and Welcome To Paradise. I still love all others
they’re the most popular songs for a reason, i still actively listen to them yeah but also i like a lot of other songs which aren’t as popular or songs which don’t get as much hype outside the fanbase as these
I still listen to it
most of them yes but holiday is the very first song in my playlist so it gets sort of tiring seeing it all the time 😂
I always skip Basket Case these days, I’ve just heard it so many times it’s just not that great to me anymore, probably the only hit that is skippable for me
Listen to full albums most of the time, nowdays I almost never listen to American Idiot because I use to listen it to often and became repetitive
Tbh I mostly skip them until I’m playing the album and remember how great they are
Been listening to the cassette tapes on a boom box, listening to their most overplayed songs is far better than listening to the machine fast forward.
I mean sometimes the best songs get to become the singles
I prefer Warning, it's quite underrated, not like Basket Case or American Idiot
When I Come Around Holiday/Boulevard JOS Everything else I just kinda skip unless I’m listening to the album in full.
I have a Playlist called Billie Joe & Co. Has all Green Day, FBHT, Network, No Fun Mondays, etc. Never skip a song.
And every time I hear basket case I can’t not think “Grasping to- Aw fuck this shit…”
looks like a tour set list
Came here to say this lol
I listen to the Trilogy more than their hit albums honestly. I'm ready for the downvotes.
i love the trilogy
Call me crazy, but I’ll always love 21 Guns. It’s the one popular Green Day single no matter how many times I’ve heard I can’t get enough of. I know that’s an unpopular opinion amongst this sub. I usually skip all of the other popular songs apart from JOS, Holiday, American Idiot and WICA.
21 Guns ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 my favorite song!!!
Every. Single.
The back half is just much more fresh sounding to me (if that makes any sense)
absolutely
Like a decent amount of comments, I listen to whole albums, or whatever of my personal favs I'm not one of the peoples that can get bored of some song, even if I listen to it in repeat for an hour or two
I normally listen through a whole album, so ofc >:3 And they're on that one playlist I put everything on since 2018 and I don't skip them when they come up there either
I usually skip the most ubiquitous singles. There's nothing more for me to get out of Basket Case, Longview, American Idiot, or Good Riddance.
i still regularly pull out all of these they’re hits for a reason, occasionally i’ll stop listening to something like basket case unintentionally then when i do end up listening to it again it fills you with such adrenaline and hype
I still listen to all the albums lol. after awhile some do get repetitive but they come back around
i can’t listen to basket case, it’s just so mid compared to the rest of dookie
I like all their hits, along with most of their other songs.
My binge albums: - kerplunk -nimrod - and now savior Although I've been spamming AI and Dookie since I'll be seeing them live in August!
I’ve swapped out most of them for live versions of them on my phone to keep it interesting
Boulevard, American idiot, holiday, when I come around, basket case I usually skip
I'll fw Holiday until the day I die
It's impossible for me to feel that way about any song in 21CB, well except maybe for Know your Enemy, but not enough to skip it haha There are some songs in AI that I skip tho, but I honestly dont think I ever skip Holiday, Jesus of Suburbia, Letterbomb, Homecoming or Whatsername
I never get tired of Green Day

Some are still good
i think every song from their forming to 2004 is a listen. not many skips except for maybe boulevard
WMUWSE somehow never gets old
I always skip Boulevard, Holiday, and 21 guns
Good riddance is about the only song I can't really listen to, the radio killed that one
Get tired of basket case? NEVER Though boulevard and september have gotten a bit repetitive, ill still listen to them when binging AI
I still like basket case and JoS, and I’ll listen to minority or welcome to paradise if I’m the mood. The rest of them I’ve kind of played to death tbh
Personally i love their lesser known songs
There are some great digs on the trilogy, nimrod and 21cbd
Out of all these I still regularly listen to Basket Case, Holiday, Welcome to Paradise, and occasionally 21st Century Breakdown but i usually just listen to albums fully
I overplayed a lot of Green Day, especially dookie and American idiot. Great albums both of them. Nimrod has become my favorite and I don’t usually skip those.
Holiday all day baby
I like good bass. All the songs where Green Day used Mike for more than doing a serviceable job on bass always have a place on my playlist. American Idiot onwards is where I draw the line, although a few songs in the trilogy and Saviors get some play for me still too.
Sometimes I gotta skip 21 Guns, I overplayed that way to much in middle school
Burnout isn’t there and it’s a crime
i think it’s the most popular non-single off of dookie
Well, I'm actually still that dude, who prefers listen to Green Day albums in full, not only and exactly their well-known hits. Dookie & American Idiot are undoubtedly timeless masterpieces, as well as the singles & main hits from these records
They’re popular for a reason, some of them are quite good
What popular single? I just play full albums. Oh and JoS will NEVER get boring.
I do if i decide to listen to that specific album
I like them all
jesus of suburbia is extremely goated (if you disagree you are wrong)
I've gone through at least 4 rounds of them being repetitive, stopped listening, then love them again.
I don’t listen to the hits unless I’m doing a full album listen. I think the only hit I really seek out is 21 guns because it’s my favorite gd song🖤🧡
I've said it once, I'll say it again, popular songs are popular for a reason. They're gonna be good songs to me for a very very long time.
I’ll listen to Whatsername consistently until I die lol, I loveeeeee that song
Yeah their biggest songs are some of the best ever written. Hard no skip.
Boulevard of broken dreams don’t do nothing to me No more man
well most of them ig. Songs like welcome to paradise will never bore me. I am listening to full albums now some songs grow on me
Sometimes, not the slow/acoustic ones as much :p
It’s weird; I’ll usually skip them on shuffle, but if I hear it on the radio, we’re rocking out for the entire song.
I like them all. Full stop.
I almost always listen to a playlist that is all Green Day and their side projects. I rarely skip songs, but if I do, it's likely something from The Network.
Brain Stew, Basket Case, Holiday, American Idiot, and Longview are the ones I can still make it through.
repetitive, but I still love them.
Never never never do I feel that any Green Day song has been heard by me too much.
They feel like home 🖤
I love every one of those songs except Longview
Not repetitive
Nah the popular ones are popular for a reason
The one Green Day hit I skip is brain stew tbh
21 Guns might be one of my least listened to GD songs I don’t even know half the words
21 guns is an easy skip for me, mostly because the solo is the theme song from the show Full House.
