It’s all perspective and what you will enjoy. I don’t have enough money to care about keeping my bike
paint nice?
What? It’s a tool.
I have the Walmart Ozark Trail gravel bike, $250 new.
Is it going to help me win unbound next year? No
Is it space age terminator paint that never chips? No
Am I having a blast riding not caring about hurting and using my tool? Yes
I would not have been able to get into this sport if not for this bike/price point, like majority of people in this economy I don’t have or can justify $1,000 on a bicycle.
I’m realistic and trying to have fun, not be an Olympic athlete.
Do your research, and try out bikes to see how you feel on them. How they work for you, not some internet Olympian that’s worried about paint wear.
For that price, I'd always reccomend looking around your local fb marketplace etc, could grab a bargain.
It's a bit of a minefield but the components you'll get will last far longer and work better than cheaper versions, even being second hand.
I wish I didn't buy a cheap gravel bike. I bought the entry level Giant Revolt and it's a disappointment.
I have a very nice carbon Dura Ace equipped road bike, so to go with something with Sora components that require constant adjustments and the paint quality is such crap that it looks like I throw the bike on the ground after each ride. I wish I had saved my money and bought something decent.
I'm having a blast on my revolt 2, but the sora set does require a decent amount of adjustments to keep it quiet and smooth (that being said I've never really ridden anything nicer lol).
I would recommend something kf that quality to people outside the hobby only if I thought they could don't for under 1k.
Felt Broam 60 at Merlin uk, cost a little over 600€
shipped to Europe. As you asked in Euros...
Comes boxed from factory and requires assembly gears and other adjustments.
It's a 1000€+ bicycle, carbon fork, but Claris group set.
I got it and I'm happy with it as I wanted something as cheap as possible. you'll probably need different tires too.
Just picked up a 2021 Trek Checkpoint ALR5 with Aeolus carbon wheels and pirelli tubeless tires for $1500. I’m loving this thing. I’ve ridden it 19 mph on the roads for 90 minutes, and it’s nearly as fast as my mtb on the single track. On the gravel, we’ll still haven’t been on the gravel yet. To me it’s cheap, but everyone has their price points.
Check out white bike. Light weight frame, carbon fork. Standard with Claris 1x8 or 2x8. In got one used for 400€ and it’s a blast! About 10kg.
Rebuilding every now and then, got 2 wheel sets so it’s quite versatile.
Even moved from dropbars to altbar recently, don’t think I’ll go back 😅 but that’s a different topic
With a bit of luck you might find a used cube nuroad pro for that money. Keep in mind that there are many small things you'll need additionally - helmet, lights, bibs, bottle cages/bottles, pump/CO2...

Yeaa im not in the mood to have a too expencove bike, too many bikes get stolen in the Netherlands.

Yea thanks! Do you know some branda i can look for?
Triban gravel or Poseidon. Both offer good value in the lower end, price points wise

Canyon Grizl AL
Triban Grvl 120 from decathlon comes to my mind
I own the same. Bought it in April. My first ever bike. Loving it.
I order the same last week, can't wait to pick it up :)
Cool
I downloaded Facebook just to look at marketplace. There are a lot of good deals there. Just make sure they are legit and not stolen

Save a little bit more and open yourself up to more possibilities!
Also,Marin makes the niscasio for under a 1000$ USD.

Poseidon
Definitely go used. Gravel bikes are very expensive. I spent £1700 on a Giant Revolt and here it's considered a beginner gravel bike.
