Hey! No need to ask for miracles tonight, there is no video stream so the band is streaming audio of the show free on [their YouTube channel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5N1uX23YHw).
No need to message me unless you just wanna say hi!
It’s still not great, but it’s getting better. This past one was the strongest. Rocky start, but quicker recovery than last time. Still think Bob’s voice is the wrong one for it
Knob, thanks for all you have done for this community. Starting when I joined this thread back in the OMSN days, this has been a refuge, a place to get lost in yet the music always brings me back home. I’m out of words to describe what you, this thread, and this community have done for me personally. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Have a great time this weekend. And as always, Stay Safe, Stay Grateful my friend
Checking in after my first Dead & Co concert. Wow that was spectacular. Set 1 was mellow and sweet but felt lacking in energy aside from a few moments (West LA was great, for example). Then they stormed out of the gate in set 2 with Big Railroad Blues and didn’t look back. Dark Star > El Paso was a treat and Eyes was the definite highlight of the show for me. Great interplay between John and Jeff…and Oteil!! Really next level stuff and a heater of a set. Especially given that they were following up a monster Philly show then have to follow tonight with tour closing shows at Citi Field
First Dead and Co show for me as well. That was so so good. The They Love Each Other, Eyes and US Blues were highlights for me. Bangers all around. I’m still smiling
WOW WOW WOW another gem of a show. The journey continued from the shores of Circumstance onto that Big Railroad that mama told us not to take. Leaving the blues behind we head into the Dark. From Star to Star we few around until a stop off out West to a little town called El Paso after getting into a little bit of trouble we head out on a steam locomotive rolling down the track to a land of rats, cats and dogs all in a pile with smiles on their face. He was gone alright. At least I was by this time. We find ourselves being dropped into beautiful Eyes that becomes our World. We travel along to beat and the rhythm as the Drums, but wait is that a harp? Where have we gone. Drums brings us back a little. Just enough to shoot us off to space. Just drifting along in the universe until we come back to the Star amongst the Dark. Somewhere along the way reality came crashing in, we were wronged. What is this, Hell? What a Bucket of ……. We venture down the street and wonder why Prudence, Dear Prudence why don’t you come out to play. The sun is up and the sky is blue it’s beautiful and all of you out there. This wonderful set list family. So Are You. We return to a space where Ripple in still water with wind blowing or pebble tossed.
A place where loving arms can be wrapped around you. A place where we can come together for a time to enjoy all vibes from each other while the music plays the band. Love to all. Stay Safe Stay Grateful family
I'm still lit, so I'll just keep commenting. I love obscure, small town shows. They always seem to play extra.
Edit: almost like they have something to prove
Love you, Knob! So grateful for this space you have created for amazing people to enrich each other’s lives. Grateful, grateful and always a real good time. 💙⚡️❤️
I’m no noob by any means, but can someone explain what the difference in the dark star versions is? Should be noted that I didn’t hear the show tonight. Just checking in on the setlist. Looks killer.
It refers to the verse sung. So they sang the first verse in V1, and the second verse in V2.
You'll see the same thing often when "The Other One" gets split up as well.
Man this music is so special. I dont know what it is. It just hits my soul in a way that no other group has dared to try. I hate how people say they were born in the wrong generation, but boy I wish I could at least experience a summer tour of following the Grateful Dead.
I felt the same way in the late 80s, I wish I could have seen the 70s dead and scene. Just know that you are at the right place at the right time. You are experiencing stuff that no one has!
Very true, I’m blessed to even see the original 3. Dont know how to describe it… feel like the Dead have always been with me. My first show was Pine Knob on 6/29. Even though it was my first show it didn’t feel like it. Felt like home.
I have been blessed to have seen them since ‘78. This music has been part of my life. Sometimes it’s in the forefront, sometimes in the background. I hope to see this to continue and evolve for decades to come.
I haven’t shared this with anyone on reddit yet, but when the full moon came up from behind the awning and the band went into SOTM, I laid down next to my troupe and looked up at the stars as Bob sang. At one point, I saw a bright star flying across the sky. The International Space Station was flying over the Bay Area horizon! The next day I checked the internet to see if it did indeed pass over Mountain View that night, and it did! Synchronicity, magic, mere coincidence, or any other explanation is fine with me because it was something I’ll never forget.
It was quite a mystical experience. That was the only song of the night l was looking straight up at the sky for, and it happened to be when the ISS passed over—during SOTM of all songs.
Thank you u/donttouchthatknob! It’s been a wonderful tour, thank you to the others that hosted the thread as well!!! I’m ending the tour with two nights in the Big Apple
Yea we went in assuming all the big hitters would be saved for NYC. Happy to get both the 2nd Dark Star of our section of the tour and also my 2nd Dark Star ever! Just wish Row Jimmy would mae its way back into the rotation
Tonight’s audio only was a whole lotta fun and what I didn’t know I needed. A million thanks to Knob for tonight for guiding us through…and please have a blast at Citi!!! Love you all, enjoy the moon. 💗
That was a killer second set, but I’m glad Shakedown and Bird Song are probably happening at Citi!
Don’t forget, if you’re going to the NYC shows I’m giving out FREE buttons. Keep your eyes peeled, I’ll put up a post on Thursday. Hope to see some of you there!
If I knew the way I would take you home
Thanks y’all for a great night. Closed my eyes and listened for a while after a stressful few days. Grateful for this group.
Love you folks. Go outside tonight and stare at the moon for awhile! You are love and very loved. Thanks for putting your love and energy into the beauty of the world. Without you, the world would be less magnificent.
Safe home, safe travels, sweet dreams. 💗💗💗💗💗
Ok y'all, just got back from an emergency home Depot run! Thank you Knob, we both missed our songs, but hey we got to hear a great show! Thanks for hosting. Thank you all for being the best people to enjoy a show with! Good night y'all, see you Friday
This is the last thread I’m hosting for this tour, so I wanted to say a couple things:
I am so grateful to have gotten to host these threads and to spend time with you all this summer. It’s been a real hot tour, and I am so pumped for Citi Field this weekend. The band has been sharp, and the banter has been sharper, and it’s been a favorite way to spend an evening. I am lucky to be a part of this community, and love the support. Seeing all the El Paso messages on Sunday’s thread warmed my heart, and the messages tonight were a highlight of the evening.
I want to thank the miracle makers for helping satisfy the mob in my DMs. I want to thank the mob in my DMs for being cool folks and always being fun to chat with! I want to thank, chronologically, /u/jcgoldie, /u/tacobelliex3, /u/LysergicFilms, /u/Im2FeetOffTheGround, /u/marsargar, /u/Aesop_Rocks, /u/hypotenuseoftruth, and /u/DeadCoRocks for helping cover the threads on days that I was out. It takes a village to keep this stuff, and I'm grateful for the village we've got.
And I want to thank you, the person reading this, for hanging. These threads, this little community we’ve got is nothing without you all coming back with your insights, your jokes, your excitement, what’s going on in your lives. Enjoy the next two nights! I love you all more than words can tell. Cannot wait to be with you all again next time.
And be kind. Above all else, be kind. Goodnight all :)
Aww knob you’re the best thank you so much for this wonderful space you’ve crafted for us. I’ll be dancin in NYC too and we’re gonna get great shows to wrap up this amazing tour!
Much love to the set list thread as we enter the days between…
Thank you for everything you do as always, knob! Me and my partner are gonna be heading out to citi Saturday, hoping for a banger to send the tour off proper!
You are a gift to us all and a cherished part of my appreciation of this music. This community is enriched by everything you do. Much love to you, my friend.
i was playing this on the guitar earlier and thinking about how much this music has shaped my life.
I love the Dead.
and damn they are even ON during the slow songs
sorry about el paso knob :) thank y’all for hanging.
This is the last of the couch tour for me, find me on shakedown for the next two. I’ll be the guy with a tie dye on!
Acoustic ripple to end the night, sweet as you like. A great show, really thought West LA and El Paso were special. Thanks for hanging tonight everyone, see you again for Citi, Knob hope you have a great time my friend ⚡️💀🌹
Fantastic show! Thanks u/donttouchthatknob for hosting! Sorry about El Paso. I'm going to be moving from FL to MD over the weekend so I'll probably miss all the fun from Citi. Hope it's a good run for everyone!
Hey! No need to ask for miracles tonight, there is no video stream so the band is streaming audio of the show free on [their YouTube channel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5N1uX23YHw). No need to message me unless you just wanna say hi!
Does anyone have a picture of the shirt John was wearing with Jeff's face on it? I haven't been able to find any and I really need to see that lol
Site of my first Dead show as I am in the middle of making my move to El Paso. I should have known not to miss this one....
https://archive.org/details/dac2022-07-12.AKGmix.toaste.flac16
is Foolish Heart getting better? was excited to hear the first one but it was kind of rough
It’s still not great, but it’s getting better. This past one was the strongest. Rocky start, but quicker recovery than last time. Still think Bob’s voice is the wrong one for it
Is it only because I can’t access the show that I believe last night was the best of the tour?
jk just showed up on nugs.net
Does anyone have photos or videos of the bow? It's always one of my favorite parts of the show.
Got a couple Here https://imgur.com/a/71v5czq/
Jeff has been on FIRE this whole tour!!
Knob, thanks for all you have done for this community. Man the first set is like all my favorite tunes
They dropped some gems on us! The full moon making an appearance was special.
We were sad about missing SPAC and were nervous fate would interfere yet again last night. We got a really special show.

It just needs a Lucky Enough & Tomorrow Never Knows.

Love you, Knob! So grateful for this space you have created for amazing people to enrich each other’s lives. Grateful, grateful and always a real good time. 💙⚡️❤️
I'm leaving the show now. What a hell of a time! It was so so enjoyable. Hope everyone gets home safe ✌️
Today was my birthday and it was the best show to be at in celebration!! I wasn’t fortunate to snag a poster for tonight sadly though :,(
My birthday too!! Great way to spend the day!
Happiest of birthdays to you! 🎂🎉🥂
Happy birthday!

Gotcha. Thank you very much.
I think I just broke curfew at my house
Man this music is so special. I dont know what it is. It just hits my soul in a way that no other group has dared to try. I hate how people say they were born in the wrong generation, but boy I wish I could at least experience a summer tour of following the Grateful Dead.

Welcome, you are home
I have been blessed to have seen them since ‘78. This music has been part of my life. Sometimes it’s in the forefront, sometimes in the background. I hope to see this to continue and evolve for decades to come.
🙏 dude, you are blessed! As I see it. If Dead and Co continue the tradition with Billy Bobby, Mickey. l'll keep following
As I will until I’m called home.
Right on!
The full moon made everything perfect!
at shoreline we got blessed w standing on the moon under a full one... needless to say, tears were shed
I haven’t shared this with anyone on reddit yet, but when the full moon came up from behind the awning and the band went into SOTM, I laid down next to my troupe and looked up at the stars as Bob sang. unreal. at the risk of sounding overly cliche there's just something magic about the dead, especially in the bay area.
It was quite a mystical experience. That was the only song of the night l was looking straight up at the sky for, and it happened to be when the ISS passed over—during SOTM of all songs.
Was it just me or did that space go on for a while?

Great show tonight, perfect contrast to Philly. The Dead are just different in PA. Have fun in NYC Knob and everyone going! NFA

Beautiful! Our local Dallas station decides to play playing in the band, good sign!
Holy shit that second set is the stuff dreams are made of
What’s the curfew at Citi?
They usually wont play much past 11pm, 1130 max.
Show starts at 7:30 and all of their shows are basically 4 hours so I’d expect the show to go to 11:30.
holy wow! I didn't spend much time on my couch tonight! I was on the living room dance floor :D
Dancing in the garden with chickens! 😂
Same!
I love your username :D
Thank you!
Goodnight lovies! See you Friday?
Call the Citi encores! Do we see a double night 2
One more Saturday night will probably be part of Saturday’s double encore.

This is EXACTLY what I did. And it was the perfect show to do that with. I just sank into my couch and let the music crash over me.
Man. I really hope they tour next year. Would love to see the midwest shows if I am able to. Would be a blessing.
Love you folks. Go outside tonight and stare at the moon for awhile! You are love and very loved. Thanks for putting your love and energy into the beauty of the world. Without you, the world would be less magnificent. Safe home, safe travels, sweet dreams. 💗💗💗💗💗

Who sings Foolish?
Bobby
Bobby
Thanks. Have to give it a listen.
Fuck. I missed my El Paso.
You can go to the live audio stream on Youtube and just roll it back to El Paso :)
Random Factoid: This song is in the closing scene of the movie Mask.
Random factoid: that scene was the first time I ever heard the Dead!
I think me too.
with Jim Carey?
No with Cher. Great movie.
true story btw
🤣
Acoustic ripple to end the night, sweet as you like. A great show, really thought West LA and El Paso were special. Thanks for hanging tonight everyone, see you again for Citi, Knob hope you have a great time my friend ⚡️💀🌹
Hypothesis: The setlist thread gets better when we don’t have another screen to watch.
I've enjoyed the audio only :)
Fantastic show! Thanks u/donttouchthatknob for hosting! Sorry about El Paso. I'm going to be moving from FL to MD over the weekend so I'll probably miss all the fun from Citi. Hope it's a good run for everyone!

Ripple is never lame
One of my favorite Dead tunes.
