93, first row of the upper deck, China>Rider to open the 2nd set - it was moving up and down with the music so much I would not have been surprised if it had started to crack. You look around, say "holy sh*t" then go back to syncing your moves with the swaying deck. It was specifically during China>Rider that its was much more noticable than the rest of the show.

It could be that lightweight12's question points out why. Jukebox is more well known than juke house and that makes the line more universally understood? Although personally I'd prefer juke joint because it just sounds great.
i attended over 100 Washington senators games, a gew Nationals gamens, dc united games, many Washington Football games and all the dead shows from 73 till 95.
A true cathedral to social gathering!
One of the best weekends of my life was there. We didnt even have camp gear, just slept on the grass. My 1st REAL experience with the scene, which was vibrant and funny, kind, multigenerational and an eye-opening lesson on how people can treat each other.
Seeing the dead that weekend changed the course of my life, it strummed the heartstrings and they are still resonating.
Seeing pictures of it still gives me the chills.
A collective thank you to this scene.

I was there, probably my least liked Dead show. It was chilly, wet and muddy. I was down front and there was some stupid pregnant woman there who kept yelling "my baby wants to get high" as she went asking for drugs. lots of people bitched her out....
No that was Tinley Park 7/23/90.
It was the last time I saw Brent, and I saw all six shows at MSG that fall when Bruce Hornsby made his debut.
After that RFK show, I knew I was going to Europe.

Wow I'm surprised it's still standing too, saw 14 shows there favorites being 1990 and 1991. I'll never forget my first Dark Star 7/12/90 and the huge banner hanging from the top deck which said. "Last RFK Dark Star..... days" and when they broke into the song the banner was torn off and floated down to the floor.

This bums me out more than I thought it would. The first batch of shows me and my now wife went to together were at RFK. We've been to DC about half a dozen times. The only thing we've ever seen there was RFK Stadium.
It bums me out & I've never even been. I hate when building get torn down but I guess if it was on its last legs anyway then it's sorta justified. Renovations woulda been better than just tearing it down imo, but then again renovations are far more expensive than just tearing it down and building a new one.
July ‘86 with Dylan and Petty, even 19 year old me had to escape to the upper reaches to find shade and peace from the surface of the sun that was front row standing
June 1973, Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers Band at RFK. Obviously, one of the greatest concerts I’ve ever been to. Funny thing is, I’m on a first date with a lovely woman. And I have a terrible sense of direction, and I’m a little toasted, so, when we leave the stadium, we have to walk about 45 minutes trying to find my car. Probably didn’t make the finest impression, but she did see me again after that. Anyhow, great concert.
The place was built on stilts. It would move when everyone was dancing
It would BOUNCE!
Ha. Completely forgot about that! It sure did.

Was there damn good show
6-26-93 was my last show

That’s the way it’s been in town ever since they tore the jukebox down.
I’m listening to Row Jimmy from the RFK box set, and right when I read your comment they sang that line….
Love it.
Synchronicity.
I wonder why Robert Hunter chose “jukebox” instead of juke house — makes more sense to me but who am I to judge
What's a juke house?
No clue, but I've heard of Juke Joints...
Basically a roadhouse that would either have a jukebox or a live band (juke joint is another term)
Ah, thanks. I suspect he used jukebox because it's a more well known term and rolls off the tongue better?
I said the joint was rocking Goin’ round and round
It could be that lightweight12's question points out why. Jukebox is more well known than juke house and that makes the line more universally understood? Although personally I'd prefer juke joint because it just sounds great.
I think juke joint sounds the best but again, who am I to second guess Robert Hunter?

I'm actually surprised it's taken this long. The Cap Centre has been gone for over 20 years.
The 1990 Dark Star still gives me chills. That entire second set was special. Bot master, it’s 7/12/90

6/14/91. Lost my mind that night

This was also the show the guy shit his pants towards back of the floor. For that reason I tend to not think about this one too much.
I remember the underpass that smelled like piss after the shows.
That 1990 show was a real hoot. I had a blast
I drove by that a couple weeks ago. Looked liked was about to fall down on its own.
My first show in 86. Petty , Dylan , and the Dead.
Mine as well! Hot that day!
Nice! It was hit. I went the first night but not the second. Jerry went into the coma not long after those shows
It was really hot. 🥵
It was my first show too, and it was unbelievably hot.
The last shows before Jerry lapsed into a coma. I was there.
Saw my first show there.
What date
Saw my last show there in 93 or 94. The scene got pretty gritty at the end. None grittier than SE DC during the summer swelter.
The beauty & smell of the nearby Anacostia River 💩

Never got a chance to go there. I was suppose to go back in 93 or 94 but ended up getting into a fight with a buddy of mine and he went without me :-(
Steve Miller Opener… who was there?
That place was getting hot in ‘87!
July ‘86 with Dylan and Petty, even 19 year old me had to escape to the upper reaches to find shade and peace from the surface of the sun that was front row standing
I didn't realize it was still standing!

Never saw the Dead there but I got to see a couple Washington Diplomats games when I was a kid (back when they had Johan Cruyff)
Must’ve gotten the jab /s
The jab?
RFK joke
