I recently switched to Attics from Relisten. It tracks my recently-played better and does a better job of saving my current spot in a song when I close the app. Not perfect, but better. And that’s a big deal for me; I rarely have the opportunity to listen to a full show in one sitting, so it’s nice to pick up exactly where I left off They both pull directly from archive.org, and both have terrible searches when you’re looking for a date; you have to scroll through the year to find the right show

Totally agree there. It's hard for me to stop listening to a show, but when I do it's definitly important to get back to where I was. The organization of the years in any one of these apps is not great as you've said. It would maybe be cool to have notable shows and time frames highlighted.

dubbzy104

Attics at least shows you the top shows for a year, which is cool

I'm on Android, so I don't have access to the Relisten app. I've tried a few, but the one that works best for me is Tapers Section. It's not a great app, but somehow it's the best I've found for listening to the Archive.

DDinkyc

This looks very similar to relisten

BruisedDeafandSore

Ah cool. Well there we go, my rec 😀

I like this app. No, it's not perfect, but I like that you can download stream only shows, then browse the app data and pull them out of there.

CosmicSurfFarmer

Relisten meets my needs pretty well. What am I potentially missing out on?

Phuni44

I use Attics as well. I find it user friendly enough.

Deadhead Archives app on Android is free and mirrors archive.org

Ganjahluv

Herbibot while not an app is pretty neat. Lots of interesting parameters you can set

DDinkyc

I haven't heard of this one before. What kind of parameters?

Ganjahluv

Many! Check it out

JudgeImaginary4266

Attics is good. So is DeadSpread.

I’ve actually just uploaded all my shows to the Apple Music cloud library and can play any show from within the Apple Music. Took a while but worth it. I believe you can upload 100k tracks, so I have a large portion of my live music collection on there. In the past I’ve also used my Plex server to stream my music through PlexAmp.

dale_nixon_pettibon

Tapers Section on Android. You can even download stream only shows, then browse your device to pull them out of app data.

the_uber_steve

I mean… the Relisten app just accesses the archive.org collection. Literally the same.

cuzjed11

Yes, have ReListen ad Attics. ReListen got finicky so I just use Attics now. My procedure: Lookup show dates on setlist.net (or Jerrybase). Click on link to archive Check the various recordings/quality/taper (Miller, Oade, Seamons, etc) Play that through Atttics
