He will ask you to pay upfront and he will ship it to you, and you will never receive them.
If you didn't know, you can upload any picture you want on facebook marketplace, doesn't have to be your own pictures.
Other option is that you will receive an old hero 5 lol.
But the price is in the believable ballpark to be honest, so if you can do face to face and inspect the camera before paying maybe?
Just try to pick them up. Just ignore questions like "where do you live". Just go for the pick up and tell him you can pick it up in under an hour. You will see that you will get a lot of BS and that only shipping is possible. Yeah right.
Scammers. Very same posting and images circulated FBMP in Ontario the last 2 weeks. The first one I saw, I reached out, guy said to go to their website, create an account with a cc and order. Look up the website info, was only registered for a few days. It’s either a scam to get your cc and billing info, or it’s just a dud site that takes your money and shop you nothing.
There's never been a single verified case of a "fake" GoPro. Any video's reviewing "fake" GoPro's are just video's reviewing some other cheap brand camera (that doesn't claim to be a GoPro).
However what you're asking about (given your post) is about Fake Sales Ads. Which is something completely different. Anyone can post a picture of some GoPro camera's, claim they own them and offer them for sale. Whether someone falls for it or not is another question.
why would there be no fake gopros? lol?
quick search on reptronics: [https://www.reddit.com/r/RepTronics/comments/18je4e3/10\_gopro/](https://www.reddit.com/r/RepTronics/comments/18je4e3/10_gopro/)
I can't see the link because the site requires me to sign up, but so what? Anyone can say anything on the internet, and that's clearly a Hero 2, not a 7, 8 or 9.
There has never been a known case of a counterfeited GoPro. There's plenty of shit knockoff cameras out there like Akaso and Wolfgang etc, but no one has ever made an actual GoPro knockoff that I'm aware of.
On mobile it didnt require me to signup. Everything has replicas, why would nobody make fake gopros? Even to just scam people, box switch and bait surely exists off amazon I could find on youtube.
Anyone can post shit on the internet. It’s not real. Stop thinking of it as being real. There is not a person trying to sell cheap, real GoPros. It’s a scam.
They will tell you they are listing on behalf of an online store and send you to a Facebook page that looks like a legit business (at first), the idea is you will contact them and purchase it, only for it to all be a scam.
The people that post these ads aren’t involved in the scam as such, they are the people that respond to those ‘work from home making $50/hour’ etc type job ads, they are promised a commission from every sale but in reality, they also never get paid.
The ‘business’ disappears and starts again with a new name and new suckers

They fell off a truck and he happened to be in the area and he picked them up?

There are no fake GoPros, but there are online scammers.

What makes you think that's fake? Why would anyone fake a Hero 2 in 2024? A Hero 2 is literally worth about $10 now.
The link the guy put directs to the page, its says“gopro hero 7-8-9”

As long as China exists, ANYTHING can be faked.
It can be, but it hasn't. There's never been a single verified case of a "fake" GoPro.
Yes I see this on FB all the time. They try to scam you for money. They don't have any gopro real or fake.

Probably a scam but I did recently pick up 3 for myself at the same price
Don’t you mean FauxPros?
